“What makes the driver of 730 bus to Heathrow think he can shout at passengers. As an elderly gentleman was boarding at Frimley today, the driver shouted at him “People are getting off!” No one at the bus stop could see these people on board the coach. Then he starts giving a lecture keeping all of us standing in the rain. Talk about a jumped up jobsworth.”
“They don’t stop even you’re standing in front of bus stop. You waited an hour, endured a very cold weather but bus drivers not interested on picking up passengers!”
“I use this bus service daily even though its a short distance to my home. On average I spend £80's a month to and from work, it is safer than walking home after a long day at work or the gym. When the tap on tap off service started I was happy to try it. I then was overcharged more than once so I stopped using it and went back to paper tickets which has never been an issue until today. I recently got a new bankcard that has been sporadic. Today I get the bus from the station 5/or 6 @ 18:16, 18:18 , I asked for my usual ticket, the bus driver asked me to tap on , I politley said please may I have a paper ticket, he wants to know why!( which raised my anxiety levels as there was a que of people waiting to get on). I just want to pay normally, I explained that I'd been overcharged before . So in the meantime people are pushing passed me making me feel in the way and holding up proceedings, then of course my card didnt work because of the issues I'd been having. I accept my card was having issues, and sods law after that episode it was declined and didnt work. That I can deel with as I work in retail and customer services! It was more about how I was made to feel! I'd caused a big fuss ! he asked if I was going to pay or not! Firstly I am not incompetant, secondly how dare a member of Reading buses embarass me and make me feel that way. I was not drunk, disorderly , rude or being disruptive! I'm pretty disapointed and will look to walk more in future.”
“Worst bus service I've ever encountered buses are either late or a lot of times just don't bother to turn up people rely on your service to get to and from work way to unreliable”
“I WAS FORCED TO PAY £5.50 FOR ALL THE TICKET INSTEAD OF £3.50 BY THE DRIVER, HE CLAIMED THAT I HAD PAID ONLY £1:50 AND FORCED ME TO ADD EXTRA £2, I WAS SO EMBARRASSED AND DISGRACE, THE DRIVER IS THE PERSON THAT STOP AT CHRISTCHURCH GREEN STOP, CINTRA CLOSE, BERKSHIRE, READING, England ON Saturday 23TH December 2023, HE HAD Embarrassed ME AND I STILL WALK WITH MY HEAD LOW FOR NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG”
“Number 13 to Woodley in the evening ? By the time you get on it you would have been quicker to walk home! Never an apology or an explanation why. Useless”
“Trying to get to my 12hr night shifts using Reading Buses is an absolute nightmare. Jet Black 1!! Never on time and then just canceIs. I then have to pay £9 for a taxi 5mins up the road!!! Use public transport your told absolute joke!!!!!”
“First time bus user. Driver not helpful. Very rude tone manner, when asked does this include parking ticket for park and ride. Approximately 12.30pm bus.”
“Bus is OVER an hour late and I have a home to get to after a 12 hour day at work. Disgusting service. Number 13 to Woodley!!!! Still sitting in Reading doing nothing. All 3 buses!”
“Reading Buses Are very bad and always overloaded, some of places in reading don’t have access to the bus, this town is a really bad and highly don’t recommended!”
“Absolute Garbage.
waiting for Bus 17 is like playing the lottery.
Even if there is no traffic on Oxford Road the Bus is always late and when it finally comes It's full.
It takes longer to get to work in Reading than to get to London from where I live. The most chaotic public transfer system I have ever seen.
disgrace.”
“I missed the 17:36 bus because I arrived at the bus stop too late — at 17:34. Unfortunately, I haven't been warned that the bus was early. The app showed departure time in 1 minute, even though it was already past — I saw it whizz past the station when I was approaching.”
“Pathetic service buses never on time sways delayed also numerous services are suddenly cancelled leaving customers stranded at the bus stops.Would
Have given it 0 stars if
I could”
“- bus stop hard to find at Heathrow bus area
- Oyster card not accepted, though boarding at Heathrow airport
- bus late
- no information on the next stop by loudspeaker, neither from recording or live
- no information on the next stop on the beautiful screens, only commercials
- driver knew where I wanted to get of, did not call me
- not everywhere information of station name on the bus stop
Result: I missed the stop and thus the connection, had to wait 45 minutes while strong evening rain poured.
If you ask me, such a poor service should just not exist.”
“Reading buses claim to have 90+% reviews, but this bursts my lungs into extraordinary laughter. Only the 17, 33 etc, are reliable. In fact, these buses are really quite reliable. Howver, the buses have not shown up at ALL for bus routes such as the 16. Embarrassing company. The 16 bus has been showing "due" for 40 minutes now. Sort it out. Stop concentrating on two services at most. Pathetic .”
“Absolute joke of a service. I wrote a review a few months ago complaining about the buses being 10-15 minutes late - but now it's even worse.
They just don't turn up on time, if at all. In the last 2-3 months almost every single bus coming out of Reading towards Bracknell has been at least 30 minutes late with no explanation.
Are the drivers simply not leaving on time? What could possibly cause so much delay, especially during non-rush hour times? I simply can't believe traffic is this big an issue all day, every day.
Just the other day the X4 (which comes hourly now) out of Reading was a shocking 40 minutes late. Bearing in mind it comes every 60 mins - or so they say - how is that acceptable at all? This was at around 1pm too.
You have at times 30 people waiting at a bus stop because the previous bus(es) are all piled up somewhere following each other like ants.
I'm now relying on a friend, or Ubers, to give me a lift to work every morning because the buses would make me 30-60 minutes late.
Stupidly paid more than £500 for a yearly bus pass for this shocking service - never again.
All in all, don't bother checking the timetables (especially towards Bracknell) - you'll be left disappointed standing in whatever weather waiting up to 40 minutes.
Would give 0/5 if I could.”
