Overall: Overall, we were happy with the villa. Service was quick and cordial and anything that needed repairing was dealt with same day with no extra effort on our part. We loved the privacy on the decks and the jacuzzi even though other villas were in immediate proximity. Amazingly quiet in spite of villas around us. Very good daily maid service. Enjoyed Most: Seclusion and incredible view of caldera, Mirostefani and Fira. Enjoyed Least: Walls inside and outside could have used a coat of fresh paint. We experienced electrical shorts in the kitchen. Surrounding Area: Views, proximity of restaurants, shopping and cafés. Nearby Events or Locales: Mirostefani and Fira both within 15 minutes walk. Tips or Restaurants: Do not trust Trip Advisor for restaurants. Salt and Pepper was highly rated by 5 different people. The location and food were really terrible. Some of those testimonials had to be bogus. The villa has WIFI. Even though a car is provided, you are better off getting around on an ATV. Stay away from motorcycles unless you are an experienced rider... you need nerves of steel to negotiate the roads and other drivers. Directions: We were picked up at the airport. Check In Out: People were helpful carrying bags up and down steep walkways and were right on time.

Overall: Very pleasurable. We loved the unit we stayed in. We would have like to have better access to a view from our sitting area outside. Enjoyed Most: The view from the group dining area was fantastic. The pool was wonderful. Enjoyed Least: The drive up. Surrounding Area: Close to other locations for day trips. Directions: Didn't know how to use coordinates on the GPS but followed the written directions and they were very clear. You might want to add to veer to the right when you hit the sign for the factory when you approach the top. Check In Out: It went very smoothly.

Overall: We enjoyed our week's stay at Castello 3. The property was maintained very well, the view was nice, and I enjoyed the somewhat-remote location. Enjoyed Most: Overall, the property! Other benefits include the on site restaurant, the pool, size of the apartment, on site office was very helpful. We also enjoyed the relaxing afternoons that we spent outside at a table by the apartment. We opened a few bottles of wine and enjoyed the view! Enjoyed Least: The on site restaurant opens at noon so buy your own coffee! We normally prefer a cooler temperature when we sleep, but we had 2 fans in the apartment which we moved to the master bedroom. The shower was small, but we made it work! Surrounding Area: Montespertoli was our favorite town about a 10 minute drive away! Great small town and one of our favorite meals in the piazza! Nearby Events or Locales: There was a small town down the hill that was within walking distance, but we did not go there. Tips or Restaurants: Definately bring mosquito spray and don't open the windows! There is a COOP in Montespertoli where you can basically buy anything that you need. Also, bring bathroom items, like a hair dryer, shampoo, and conditioner. Directions: Yes, we used a GPS. We drove around Tuscany for the week and do not see how you could get around without it! Check In Out: The front desk was fabulous! The check-in process was great and they were very easy going when we had to leave very early on Saturday. They let us check out on Friday.

Overall: Sweet to be close to one of the "hubs" in Paris. We enjoyed the lovely restaurants and outdoor cafes. The views were "true Paris"! Romantic! Enjoyed Least: Noise from the streets all night. Tips or Restaurants: Bring your own soap and washcloths. Directions: We had Paris City limos pick us up. Great value and zero hassle!

Overall: We were extremely happy all around. Enjoyed Most: The view from the terrace and the incredibly well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed Least: The living room did not have comfortable furniture. Surrounding Area: It was very well located for restaurants, markets and just walking.

Overall: Apartment was well equipped and well positioned in Paris. Enjoyed Most: The apartment was well equipped with kitchen utensils, pans, etc., bathrooms had hairdryers, etc. Enjoyed Least: Need opaque window coverings in living room to insure privacy at night. Surrounding Area: Close to the subway, Notre Dame area, etc. Tips or Restaurants: One comment is that it would be nice if they would add small trash cans in bathrooms so guests do not have to take trash through the house to put in the only trash can in the kitchen. Small annoyance, but still an annoyance. Directions: Cab driver found it easily.

Overall: Fantastic time had by all. Enjoyed Most: Open, beautiful, quiet and large. Enjoyed Least: Kitchen could have been better equipped. Would be nice to have a gas grill near the pool area. Surrounding Area: Beautiful, but a lot to do. The town was amazing as well. Nearby Events or Locales: Nothing in walking distance, but that was not a problem at all. Tips or Restaurants: The local restaurants were great - just on the road near the house. Walking near the house was wonderful and a bit of an adventure. Travelling up and down the coast gave us a lot of wonderful surprises. We also enjoyed a day sailing.

Overall: We felt the place was as as we expected. Enjoyed Most: The location without a doubt. Enjoyed Least: None of the bathroom doors locked Surrounding Area: The location was within walking distance of many historic sights, piazzas and shopping. Tips or Restaurants: This apartment is located in a very hard to reach spot and you cannot drive to the front door. Check In Out: The owner was close by when we got there and met us at the place.

Overall: Excellent. Enjoyed Most: The cook and the pool. Enjoyed Least: The fact that there is not good seating on the terrace attached to the house. Surrounding Area: The villa is close to all the small cities and easy to get to all places. We went to Siena, Volterra, Forti Dei Marmi, Cinque Terre and Lucca from there. Nearby Events or Locales: Balbano was within walking distance, but we had cars so we never walked. You do need a car. Tips or Restaurants: Best restaurant in Lucca is Buca's. We loved it. Freda who helps with the property knows all the great restaurants and can set you up at a beach club in Forti dei Marmi. Do that, it's great. Directions: Use GPS and use the ones from Europe.

Overall: Overall the property and atmosphere were great. The location was convenient to Siena and we found this to be very enjoyable, much more so than Florence. Enjoyed Most: The peaceful gardens and the bed/bath arrangements. Enjoyed Least: We had some issues with seemingly small things. The Internet code kept expiring, and we would have preferred a less sensitive access, but the staff were helpful in sorting out the problem. Also it would have been nice to have some dishwashing fluid and sponge. The exit onto the road was tricky. We were always worried about oncoming traffic. Surrounding Area: The view over Siena. Nearby Events or Locales: Contafabrio was the nearest town, but other than one osteria, there was not much here. It was a long walk and the road was narrow. Tips or Restaurants: The large Conad supermarket was a great blessing. The pizzeria in nearby Montebuccio was great and we had a tasty, reasonably priced dinner with a view of a gorgeous sunset.

Overall: Maison Rose is a beautiful 200 year old home with excellent outdoor living space and an outdoor kitchen. The house was large enough to accommodate two families with active children, yet it was full of cozy little places to curl up with a book. We enjoyed our time there very much and were very impressed with the property owner. He was very involved and helpful during our stay. Enjoyed Most: I definitely loved the outdoor kitchen and eating area near the pool! The children loved the pool, piano, pool table, and hiding spots. We adults found ourselves living outdoors with the fully equipped poolside kitchen. Everything about the furnishings were thoughtful: on the pool deck there were plenty of chaise lounges for the sun worshipper as well as the shade lovers. One of our children made it her goal to sit in every chair in the house before the week was over; I think her count was 117 chairs! Enjoyed Least: Many of the bathrooms only had a bidet and not a toilet. Also, there were not enough towels. Surrounding Area: We loved Gourdon! Definitely worth a trip for the views alone! Nearby Events or Locales: Plascasier was the nearest town and it was within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: Bring towels. The owners live next door, and were very helpful in suggesting activities that we'd enjoy. One of the activities that they suggested, which turned out to be the highlight of the entire France trip for our children, was a hike along a river, culminating in pools of water that we swam in.We will have fond memories forever of La Maison Rose!

Overall: Amazing, the property was more than expected. The Pool and facilities at the pool where outstanding. The ambience of the house and the setting are difficult to describe, very tranquil. Enjoyed Most: Pool side facilities and the large dining room. When we arrived it was very clean. Enjoyed Least: Nothing was unsatisfactory, probably the distance to the trash cans. The drive up to the Villa. Surrounding Area: Tranquil. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest town was Volterra and no, you could not walk. The Villa is very secluded, which has advantages, but also made ensuring that we had the basics, etc, an art in planning. Tips or Restaurants: Be aware that it takes a good 20 - 30 mins to get to the nearest supermarket. However the Villa is very well stocked and you will find everything you need. Directions: The only comment is once you follow the directions and find the road, do not loose confidence - it's just higher and longer than expected. Check In Out: The check in time is 5:00pm, which is understandable with a check out of 10:00 am, and the property was immaculate when we arrived. The only downside was for those guest arriving from America that morning who were very tired by check in.

Overall: The villa is just as we expected. The pictures posted on rentvillas.com were very accurate!Definitely should speak French to get around. Very helpful.I'm the only French-speaking person in the family, so we did OK.A car with GPS is a "must"The English couple, the local managers, are very nice and helpful with nice suggestions for restaurants and places to visitWe had a wonderful time driving around visiting chateaux, Lourdes, Toulouse, and San Sebastian in Spain. Went to the town Pau, a 45 min drive, to watch the Tour de France going by, very exciting! Plenty of things to do in 2 weeks! Brochures of places to visit are available at the villa, very handy. Enjoyed Most: 1. Clean bathrooms and nice bedrooms, mattresses were in good shape plenty of towels.2. Kitchen is sufficient Tupperwares are available for packing food for picnic or leftovers. Plenty of different size dishes, cups and glasses.3. Hair dryer and iron are provided, so less things to pack.4. TV has English Cable so you don't have to watch French TV.5. Phone calls within France are free. Enjoyed Least: TV is very small. But it's better than none.Having a laundry dryer would be nice. Editor's Note: A large flat screen TV and dryer have been installed. September, 2013 Surrounding Area: The front yard is well kept and nice looking.A bit inconvenient to get out of the car to open/close the front gate. But no big deal. Nearby Events or Locales: Vic en Bigorre is the nearest town (15-minute drive), with 3 grocery stores, Intermarche, Leader Price, and Carrefour. They close earlier than U.S. stores, 7:00 pm Mon-Fri, and 1:00 pm on Sat-Sun. Tips or Restaurants: 1. Must have a car with GPS and unlimited mlieage. We used AVIS, and got a Ford Focus using Diesel. Decent car.2. Reusable grocery bags for grocery. They charge for bags.3. Bring/buy laundry detergent, shampoo, etc.4. More restaurants to choose from in Tarbes - 30 min drive. In small town, most restaurants are only open for dinner, but there are always sandwich shops.5. Rent a car with Diesel instead of regular gas, since it is less expensive.6. Bring umbrellas and/or raincoats! It rained quite a bit in July.7. Most American credit/debit cards don't work at Gas Station, stores. However, you can get cash from Some ATMs. It's easier that way. Directions: GPS works. The given directions from the voucher is from Toulouse, and we drove from Paris.

Overall: Amazing!! From the moment we arrived it felt like heaven on earth. The villa is beautiful. We had plenty of room and the facilities were immaculate. The pool was the perfect respite from the Tuscan sun. The weather was amazing. Absolutely perfect!!! Enjoyed Most: The property manager Cecille was super friendly and a font of information. The peace and quiet the villa afforded us was unparalleled. Yet we were minutes drive away from Barberino Val D'Elsa. Location, location, location.... Halfway between Florence and Siena in the heart of the Chianti region. I am still pinching myself to make sure it was not just a dream. Enjoyed Least: The dirt road added an element of anxiety. Especially when navigating it in a rental car. Surrounding Area: Everything!!! The views, the people, the options to tour a town or two or go to a wine tasting or just sit overlooking the vistas at an outdoor cafe. Nearby Events or Locales: Barberino Val D'Elsa. Not exactly walking distance unless you enjoy long walks. Tips or Restaurants: The information RentVillas sent us prior to our trip contained an extensive list of things to bring. She knows her stuff. Don't panic there is a little super market in town for essentials. Directions: You have to enter the local name of the villa to find it using GPS.

Overall: Very enjoyable. It was our first time in Tuscany so we now understand the attraction. It was a welcome relief from the cities. Enjoyed Most: It's size, location, and solitude. The pool was also a great bonus for relaxing after our mornings out. Enjoyed Least: Wasps (can't do much about those) and the heat in the upstairs bedrooms (the A/C worked as best it could). The pillows were a bit lumpy. The TV didn't work in the main living room, but we didn't need it anyway. Nearby Events or Locales: Tavernelle is a 5 minute drive. It was very handy, especially the up-market Supermarket IN-COOP. Tips or Restaurants: It would be good to have a gas-fueled BBQ as we are Australians and chopping wood was not our thing. Directions: We came from Pisa rather than Rome so had to read the directions in reverse. Once we left the main road to Tavernelle we had to ask for directions. In the middle of the day it was OK, but at night it would be challenging. Check In Out: Gloria was very friendly and helpful.

Overall: Excellent. The property was plenty large to hold 15 people. We could all be together and yet if someone wanted a little time alone, there was room to be by himself/herself. Enjoyed Most: The swimmming pool area was fantastic. The pool was large, nicely sloped for depth and there were plenty of chairs for everyone. Also, the patio area where we ate everyday - be it lunch or dinner - was huge. We had a table set for 15 and it was a wonderful gathering spot. There was plenty of room elsewhere on the patio for drinks, cards, etc.The dishwasher! It has a 2 1/2 minute cylce. As such, it was very easy to clean up after meals and we always had a clean kitchen. With 15 people the ability to quicky run dishes and keep the process going was huge. Finally the views of Capri were stunning.Oh, please extend our thanks to Pasquale who stopped by every evening to check on us, answer questions and assist with any reservations needed. Enjoyed Least: Personally, I only had one hot shower. Perhaps the hot water only went on at 6:30 am? I felt like I was at camp. The kitchen was difficult to work around - poor layout. However, it was well stocked with the exception of horrendous knives. The washing machine has a TWO HOUR cylce. This inhibited people from getting wash done when we were on the move and someone else already got their wash in at 700 am. Surrounding Area: Beautiful views. The whole settng was very relaxing. Nearby Events or Locales: St Agata is where we ended up doing our grocery shopping. It was a 15 minute drive. The villa is not close to any towns and requires driving. Tips or Restaurants: I'd say bring a good kitchen knife, but that would get you arrested at the airport. The owners kindly provided pool towels so renters do not need to bring those.Something we found out from Pasquale: a liquor store in St Agata will deliver wine and beer. No need to make a run yourself if you can provide directon on your price, white or red, and the type of wine you like. Directions: We did have a GPS, but with all of the twists and turns it often needed to "reset" and as such, was not providing the guidance we needed. Check In Out: We arrived late and they were very gracious about it.

Overall: Very quiet place with a tremendous view of the sea. Perfect for relaxing with the family. Enjoyed Most: The large spaces for relaxtion with terraces and pool, space for privacy. Enjoyed Least: Insects - mosquitoes. Also, there were some technical problems with the Internet, light and water. Surrounding Area: Beautiful Ravello is 5 km from the villa. We very much liked the beach in Atrani. Nearby Events or Locales: To reach the nearest small towns a car is necessary. Tips or Restaurants: We have been surprised by the Welcome Basket at the villa when we arrived. It was a pleasant surprise. Restaurants can be found in Amalfi and Ravello, small cafes and restaurants in Atrani. Directions: I recommend renting a car with GPS. The taxis are expensive, therefore, a small car is better. Check In Out: A lot of helpful information is given.

Overall: FABULOUS! Great house... Great location. Enjoyed Most: The views were outsanding and the house was beautiful. The grounds, pool, furnishings were fine and outdoor space was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed Least: There really was nothing... Surrounding Area: Loved the town and access to the beaches and swimming areas. You have to be able to deal with A LOT of steps. Keeps you in good shape and allows you to eat all you want! Nearby Events or Locales: Praiano is adorable.. has everything you need. Great restaurants and groceries. Tips or Restaurants: We were a large group of 15, so getting around the coast was challenging and super expensive. Cabs are expensive and the "orange" shuttle bus up and down the coast is crowded and long waits. Having your own car would be frightening so you are sort of stuck..factor that into the cost of the trip and arrange a price with a limo/car company beforehand. Also, we found out that most of the restaurants will send a car for you..San Pietro etc... Directions: we were told to call the manager and it worked out well. We hired a porter to carry our bags down the steps to the villa and that is a must! Check In Out: Very organized and efficient.

Overall: The reception staff were exceptional in giving us ideas of where to eat, visit, and how to get there. Enjoyed Most: The pool area Enjoyed Least: The bathroom. It wasn't particularly clean on our arrival, the drains were blocked, and it was tiny. Surrounding Area: What is not to love? The scenery is picturebook and there is loads to see and do. Nearby Events or Locales: San Casciano - no. Tips or Restaurants: Il Fedino in Can Casciano is a great restaurant with super views. We were also amazed at the selection of produce available at the local supermarket - Coop. Directions: We used the physical address in our GPS. Check In Out: Very helpful staff.
