“Overall: Perfect. Enjoyed Most: Everything. Enjoyed Least: The downstairs bedroom's bathroom is shared with the laundry and the lock wasn't easy to use. Surrounding Area: Everything, many beautiful towns within 30-40 kms. Nearby Events or Locales: Yes, but it was very small. Tips or Restaurants: Nothing was missing. They have really thought of everything. Directions: Yes, we had a GPS and the directions were very clear. “Overall: Maybe the best vacation ever. Great location, near train station, markets and easy road access to many small Tuscan cities and town. Great history and very friendly people. We were there a month. Plenty of relaxed time, but lots to do as well. Can't say enough.Also the sister of the owner is the cook...which we would highly recommend. Enjoyed Most: Location, location, location. It was hot...great infinity pool looking over the Tuscan mountains and valleys. Plenty of room for 8 people, but you'll spend most of your time there outside. Enjoyed Least: It was a little "buggy". No air, but it cooled at night to the mid 60's. You would absolutely need a car. Surrounding Area: Many, many small Italian towns and villages. You got a feeling like you lived there. Nearby Events or Locales: Certaldo; it was not within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: RentVillas had a great list of what to bring. The tram to Certaldo Alto is also a fun easy way to get there. Directions: Don't try to drive there at night the first time. We used an app the came with the iPhone...but there are a lot of areas where there is no service. Take travelers to Certaldo proper and go from there. Our directions seemed confusing...but we were tired and it was dark. The GPS would sometimes tell you to turn on a certain road by it's Italian name and you passed it or couldn't see it in the dark. Check In Out: We missed our connection in Frankfurt. The owner of the villa picked up our son at the train station, took him grocery shopping and to the villa. They are the nicest people we've ever met.”

“Overall: The restoration is very good quality. Most of the furnishings are Ikea so they are functional and attractive. Antiques and paintings add to the atmosphere of the property. Enjoyed Most: Location in the old area of Figline Valdarno is lovely. Enjoyed Least: The stairs make it a property suitable only for the physically able. The lack of headroom on the mezzanine floor bedroom above the main lounge makes it most suitable for children. The headroom in the loft bedroom is also limited, but better than the other area. There is a lack of any storage in the mezzanine floor. There are no fire control appliances such as smoke detectors, and no second exit or fire escape. We would have liked to have had an outside area. Surrounding Area: Good location in the Chianti region. Nice drives to wineries and historic locations. Tips or Restaurants: Property is well-provided with most essential items. A good supermarket is a 10-minute walk, with small stores much closer. Restaurants are within a 2 to 5 minutes walk--did not hit a bad one. Directions: We were met at the railway station by the owner, who provided directions to the property. All very easy. Check In Out: We paid 15 Euros/day for air conditioning.”

“Overall: Villa was as described. All rooms and facilities were in very good condition, including furniture, linens, dishes, glasses, appliances, etc. Neighbors were helpful when the electric went out; it was fixed in minutes. Enjoyed Most: The view was stupendous, and eating outdoors was terrific.The A/C worked perfectly, as did the WiFi. All outdoor furniture was excellent and comfortable. The outdoor shower was a nice addition. Enjoyed Least: Location was wonderful, but it required driving into town, which was not for the faint-hearted because the parking situation at the house was difficult; it required a difficult maneuver to turn the car around at the top of the hill. The bed in the downstairs bedroom was uncomfortable. Surrounding Area: All of it was wonderful: Sorrento, Pompeii, Amalfi coast, Ravello, Poaitano, and the beach club in Massa Lubrense! And Capri. Nearby Events or Locales: Massa Lubrense, it was walking distance, but a difficult walk with the cars and motor scooters--no real sidewalk. Tips or Restaurants: Beach towels--But they are easy and inexpensive to buy.The small store had everything in the way of food, milk, juices meat, chicken, bread etc--also any other household necessities. Check In Out: None, they were perfect.”

“Overall: Really great. Enjoyed Most: The pool and view and space--the location. We love Tuscany. Enjoyed Least: The bed in the main bedroom was very firm. Surrounding Area: Easy to reach food shops and a great location from which to explore Tuscany. “Overall: Fantastic. Good communication with owner made a pleasant experience. Enjoyed Most: You can't beat the location. And many bathrooms made it fast for all to get ready. Very spacious property. Enjoyed Least: WiFi password was hard to read. And the drains for the showers in the bathroom were very slow. Surrounding Area: Love the access to shopping, restaurants and piazzas. Nearby Events or Locales: We walked around Rome and its surrounding with no problems and we did a couple day trips via train. Tips or Restaurants: Adapters. We liked Edy off Via Babuino and Alla Rampa near the Piazza Spagna. Directions: No need for a GPS - very easy to find. Check In Out: The key holder met us when we arrived and went over the details. Was an easy process.”

“Overall: We had a fabulous time. Enjoyed Most: The pool and the grounds were perfect. There was a space for everyone - to relax, to play, to cook, to read, etc. Surrounding Area: The town festivals, local dining, visiting other towns. Nearby Events or Locales: Subbiano - not really, but 5 minutes by car. Falciano was 2 minutes from the house but not really a town. Directions: We used GPS.”

“Overall: Very nice and very well located for day trips. Somewhat out of the way to get groceries etc, but overall very, very nice!! Enjoyed Most: The lay out of the villa very well arranged to accommodate 4 to 5 couples. Also, it did provide a quiet week, without the hustle and bustle of city life!! Enjoyed Least: As stated, it was a little far to restock food, etc. Surrounding Area: Taking day trips to the small cities and seeing many very old churches and castles; just driving through the countryside and seeing what Southern Farance looked like!!! Nearby Events or Locales: It was not within walking distance; I would say it was about 4-5 miles away!! Tips or Restaurants: Just bring lightweight cloths if in summer or late summer (do not know about winter). We did find a nice restaurant in the Hotel at Bolduian, close to villa. Very nice but very expensive!! Directions: We did use GPS and had no issues finding this location. Check In Out: It was OK, just hard to communicate (language problem).”

“Overall: It was a peaceful and beautiful property and we had a great week there both using it as a launching pad for sightseeing and as a great place to hang out with the kids and relax. Enjoyed Most: We loved the grounds and the view. The villa itself was beautiful and spacious with the right number of bedrooms and good room size. The pool was terrific as was the furniture. We also appreciated the games/toys/books that were there. Enjoyed Least: Since the property is not air-conditioned the top floor became very hot at night even with the fan on. Because not all the windows were screened, we could not open them due to heavy mosquitos.Also, we liked Francesco and Liliana but it would have been helpful if someone had spoken some English. Surrounding Area: We enjoyed running/walking to the nearby villages--the nearby Co-op for shopping and proximity to Firenze and Pisa. Nearby Events or Locales: Palaia was not exactly walking distance. Genovese was within walking distance but there is not much happening there. Tips or Restaurants: Bring lots of good bug spray from the US. The Italian spray was fairly useless. Check In Out: It was smooth and painless.”

“Overall: The villa was everything we hoped for and then some. Enjoyed Most: The grounds were beautiful and the pool was clean and lovely. Enjoyed Least: The access road was a bit rough. Surrounding Area: The location was ideal for day trips to other Tuscan towns. Firenze was very close.The immediate area was clean and lovely. Very rural. Nearby Events or Locales: Montaione was the nearest town. It was not necessarily within walking distance but it was a very short, easy drive. Tips or Restaurants: Bring binoculars to view the distant mountains and towns. The little restaurant right across the street from the entrance to the villa's road was wonderful. Directions: I arrived a day late and so was picked up by others.”

“Overall: Excellent. Our family of 16 helped celebrate our 50th anniversary. Overall experience in this villa and location was great. Enjoyed Most: Spacious and gave sense of privacy to all sections. Kids could roam in safety on secure grounds and still feel they were free of adults. Great, warm, clean pool. View was spectacular. Maid, Maria, was great. Enjoyed Least: Appliances in kitchen were too small and especially refrigerator did not keep food cold enough. Milk and food spoiled very quickly. Ants. Surrounding Area: Area was perfect. Sant'Agata was friendly town with great restaurants. After dinner would drive us back to villa at no charge. Convenient shops, food markets, and bakeries for our needs. Nearby Events or Locales: Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi. perfect to walk around and close enough to Sorrento to enjoy larger city. Tips or Restaurants: We found a great local guide/concierge, Salvatore D'Esposito. He made our trip. Knew area, spoke English, could arrange transportation, boats to Capri, fishing. Made our experiences perfect and stayed with us when asked. From Positano to Rome and at airport for pick up. Directions: Did not rent auto here, only in Tuscany with English GPS. Roads too narrow and parking almost impossible.”

“Overall: We just had a marvelous time at the villa. It was a stunning building and the rooms were great. It was all very comfortable and the pool and cabana were especially fabulous. We had 4 days straight of 100 degree heat, so the air conditioning and pool were incredible. Enjoyed Most: The view. The pool. The cook. Enjoyed Least: The "farm" smell from the working farm. But, we just joked about it and knew that we were in a beautiful, but rural, area. Surrounding Area: The sunflower fields were such a surprise. We just missed the full-field blooms, but it was lovely. It was easy to get to many of the local towns and the views everywhere were just amazing. Nearby Events or Locales: Agello is a tiny local town about 1 mile away - all uphill! While my husband did walk up one day, it was really unsafe to do so on the tiny, narrow roadway. And, it really was all uphill, so you have to be in good shape to make the trek. Tips or Restaurants: Definitely bring mosquito repellent. We forgot ours and needed calamine lotion from the local pharmacy. If you are coming in the summer, you need lots of water. And, if you need ice, bring your own ice trays! The local restaurants recommended were fun, but having the cook was brilliant! Directions: Directions were really challenging, since there are few signs. We did rent an international GPS, but it often totally conflicted with the directions. We did find our way and then got the hang of it. More landmarks and clearer directions when you get off the exit would have helped. Check In Out: Martina, our hostess, could not have been more wonderful. She was welcoming, charming, and so kind. She is a local, so she knew exactly the winery we should visit and arranged for a tour of an olive orchard with a local family that was wonderful.”

“Overall: We could not imagine it to better than it was. Enjoyed Most: The large outdoor shaded seating areas with the stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the village. Surrounding Area: The picturesque village with all its restaurants. Nearby Events or Locales: A fifteen minute stroll downhill. Going back to the villas took a little longer. Tips or Restaurants: We visited many restaurants and they were all excellent. Some things are hard to find on the island, like fresh meat for barbecuing. Directions: The host of the property met us and dropped us off at the ferry Check In Out: The host made us feel extremely welcome and did a great job.”

“Overall: The property met our expectations. It's a place 4 families could hang out all day by the swimming pool, and keep both children and parents happy. Enjoyed Most: The space. Lots of room both inside and outside for the kids to play. The reasonably shallow swimming pool was perfect for children, and they spent a lot of time in there. Happy kids make happy parents.... Enjoyed Least: The furniture, and especially the chairs, did not meet the standard of the property as a whole. They were uncomfortable to sit on, and every time we sat on one, we were afraid that it would break (which eventually happened). Surrounding Area: The area was beautiful, and the beach nearby was perfect for us. Nearby Events or Locales: Lagos, within walking distance for the adults, but too far away when walking together. We used our cars to travel into town for dinner. Tips or Restaurants: One of the restaurants at the beach was very good, with great fish dishes. The Portuguese cuisine is all about seafood. Our recommendation is to have fish/seafood as often as you can. Check In Out: Check in and check out was perfect. No problem”

“Overall: The villa was in a lovely area in the mountains near Mount Etna and very peaceful indeed! The pool was great and use of the tennis court was a bonus. Alessandro, the owner, made us all feel very welcome, and did everything to help us make the most of our holiday! We enjoyed the wine and olive oil from the estate very much indeed! Enjoyed Most: We loved the outside space and the fact the villa was lovely and cool in the evenings with the breeze. It is a beautiful villa. Surrounding Area: It was lovely scenery, and we also enjoyed a couple of visits to the beach club, kindly arranged by Alessandro. The water was very clear and warm, and a pretty beach bar at the end of the beach was great for lunch. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town was Moio Alcantara and no, not in walking distance Tips or Restaurants: Tennis raquets and balls! Alessandro will advise on restaurants. Check In Out: All fine.”

“Overall: Wonderful!!!! Enjoyed Most: Everything was clean, well-taken care of, and beautiful. We loved the steps going down to the beach (the 128 steps are not as bad as you'd think). Enjoyed Least: Nothing really, only small showers, but that wasn't even a big deal. Surrounding Area: The people were so nice and friendly! Nearby Events or Locales: Nerano was the nearest (Marina del Cantone). You can walk to restaurants, shops, church (up the big hill), etc. Tips or Restaurants: Where do I begin? Tons of suggestions!RESTAURANTS:When you exit the driveway/gate of the villa turn right go down the hill into town. There are tons of restaurants along the water. Our favorite was Ristorante Maria Grazia. Get tons of entrees and share, family style. There are other great restaurants there.MARKETExit the gate, turn right, and walk down the hill, there's a store on the left 100-200m from the villa to buy groceries,etc.SIGHTSEEING: Capri--rent a boat from Ciuffitiello...use Pepe!!! This guy is the best! There's a rental stand on your way to the restaurants (directions above). There's a gelato place where his wife and parents work (the nicest family ever!) right next to the stand. He took us swimming in the ocean, took photos for us...the guy knows where to go. You need to use this guy. Tell him the "gemelli" (means twin) brothers from NJ sent you!!!Amalfi/Positano: Use Pepe and see both in one day. Trust us on this one. On the way to/from, he took us swimming, went to another Blue Grotto in Amalfi that he says is better than the Capri one, and took us to different caves. Use this guy!Ravello: You will need to hire a driver. We went to a cooking class at Mamma Agata's. Look for it online. Yes, it's expensive, but a wonderful experience. Our driver took us through Ravello for major sights, etc.Sorrento: Take a 1.5 Euro bus ride! You can buy a bus ticket at the grocery store above. Bus takes only 40 min. Sorrento is beautiful.Listen, you will walk lots, but you need to burn off all of the good food you'll be eating.”

“Overall: The house is clean and well kept and offers superb views of the surrounding Mediterranean area. It is situated on an elevated piece of property with steep access. It is also situated on a narrow road where it is sometimes not possible to park right in front of the property. Enjoyed Most: The views are breathtaking and the house easily accomodates 6 or even 8 people. Enjoyed Least: The property offers little room for outdoor entertaining and the pool is very small and shallow. Surrounding Area: The nearby city of Menton and the 10 minute walk down the stairs to access the Menton-Garavan train station. The train service gives you easy access to several interesting medieval towns of great interest. Nearby Events or Locales: Menton-Garavan is a 10 min walk down some 200 stone steps. Directions: No GPS, yet easy directions. Check In Out: Excellent, as the caretaker was a most helpful lady.”

“Overall: Very relaxing. Enjoyed Most: The views and the space. Enjoyed Least: Lack of bathtubs and variable water pressure. Nearby Events or Locales: We could walk into Montelopio with its one shop/bar. That was really just an occasional stop. We drove to see sights and ate and shopped whilst we were out and about. Tips or Restaurants: The best restaurant we found was Casa Masi in Montaione, about 45 mins drive away. “Overall: Superb villa. Probably Top Ten in Tuscany and Top Five for large groups. Enjoyed Most: Beautiful setting. Excellent outside areas. Pergola, infinity pool, and cabana with refrigerator by the pool. Enjoyed Least: Bumpy dirt access road to property. Surrounding Area: Great access to Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano. Nearby Events or Locales: Barberino Val D'Elsa; not really within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: Bring ice trays; ice is expensive. There is no clothes dryer. Directions: Directions are easy. Check In Out: The owner is very nice.”
