Terrible business practices. My wife booked a room and tried to cancel 1 hour later only to be told it was non-refundable. The reservation is next month and we have been charged double the price for the room. Plus reservations.com charges another $19.99 fee. When you try to call, they give you the run around with zero help. This is a scam company. Please avoid using these people at all cost.

No stars! The person I talked to made reservation, send confirmation. We drove for hours only to find the hotel was closed. Reservations come replied that they couldn't reach the hotel (duh!) So now it was my problem. I had specifically asked if the hotel was open because the area was having power problems. What irresponsibility. Advice: never ever use this site, even of a hotel links to iy.

Like other post say this is a scam. You think you're on the website of the hotel, but you're not. They don't give a break down of the cost until after you submit the payment. They charge double the city and state taxes and a 19.99 service fee.

Deceitful...thought I was booking directly but no. Then when I tried to cancel the reservation (which was allowed with no charge up until one day before the reservation) they would not return a $19.99 "reservation fee". Total BS.

avoid this site. they charge a non-refundable booking fee. + their rates were more expensive than just booking directly through the hotel. unnecessary middle man.

We checked in Friday night late and got up early the next morning to make coffee. Upon opening the Keurig, we noticed a roach in the coffee maker. We immediately checked out and informed the front desk. Because we made our reservation thought reservations.com, we were unable to receive a refund for the unused second night. The front desk assistant told us to call reservations.com so they could contact them for a refund, which we understood. However, she didn’t look the least bit surprised when we told her there was a roach in our room. After three attempts for reservations.com to reach the manager at Holiday Inn North East on two different days, we were told a manager was finally reached and they refused to issue a refund and when I asked why, the reservation.com CS said she didn’t ask why. I cannot believe there was such horrible customer service. Would give a zero if I could!! As for reservations.com, the customer service was NOT helpful and did not advocate for its customer. Highly disappointed in the way I was treated by them and that I had to repeat myself every single time I called back to explain the issue and when I asked if they could call me back after speaking to the hotel, they refused and said it was my responsibility to call them back (for the third freaking time!!!)

DO NOT BOOK WITH RESERVATIONS.COM!! They set up their website to appear to be through the hotel website and then they trap you into paying extra service fees along with no cancellation policy and no refunds!!

Cold-hearted, uncaring. All about the money. stuck at the airport and accidentally made reservations at the wrong hotel. Called 10 minutes later and they said "too bad" and kept the money. 11;30 at night, stuck in the airport with my son and after they 'reviewed my request' said, no.

Reservations.com does not deserve a single star. I'd go negative 4, if I could. I was online trying to book a preferred room at the Sylvia Hotel in Vancouver. We had to go out, so while my wife was shopping I booked a room. (1) The booking agent did not say she was from Reservations.com. I assumed she was from the Hotel. (2) She spoke very poor English and I had to get her to repeat everything so many times. (3) She lied about how many rooms were available, because when I returned home, there were still several rooms of the type I requested available. (4) The price online was $154. The price she quoted me was $189 plus taxes and fees plus a $20 service fee for using Reservations.com. Total fees were $250. I told her about the online price and she said she would check to see if there was a lower fee available. Nope. She then pressured me to take the room (my wife's birthday) as I would likely not get the room if I waited 10 minutes. (6) When I got home I saw the rooms were available at the lower price, I cancelled my reservation online, which cost me the service fee (pissed me off) and rebooked at the lower price for $70+ less. I will be making a complaint to the Hotel for using these people. 6 thumbs down.

Made reservation at a hotel. Easy enough and my credit card was instantly billed. however, $186 room and was charged $250. Lots of hidden fees. No mention of additional fees before making the purchase. Then I needed to cancel. No problem. Processing fee is non-refundable. and Oh by the way, Due to CoVid, the refund will take 30 days to process. So we can instantly charge the credit card, but to refund takes 30 days? SCAM ALERT

Reservations.com is a scam. You think you are on the hotel’s website and calling the hotel direct but it is actually a third party in a foreign country. They charge your credit card when you book the reservation and have no refund policy. Our 3 night stay was cut short by one night due to the room’s uncleanliness. The linoleum floor was filthy. I got on hands and knees and cleaned it myself. The paper towels were black! I had to do floor twice and still brown dirt was coming up. The hotel manager was sympathetic and agreed it was unacceptable and she would not charge us a penalty for checking out a day earlier. But because we didn’t book direct at hotel, the hotel manager could do nothing for us. I called customer service at Reservations.com and they said there was no refund policy. I pressed my case and the representative said she would submit a request for refund but we wouldn’t know outcome for 7-14 days. That was unacceptable to me with today’s technology. I asked to speak to a supervisor but one was “unavailable”. I instead took matters into my own hands and called my credit card and disputed charges. My credit card issued a temporary credit for one night’s stay pending their investigation. With nearly 1,800 complaints in 3 years to the Better Business Bureau, Reservations.com has a very bad reputation. Lesson Learned: Do not use third party services for your travel accommodations!

Reservation.com is a scam artist through unethical practices of deception. I was at the hotel website to reserve a room, however, without my knowledge, it was redirected to another website. There were additional fees not disclosed, until it was too late to undo. Attempts to cancel will only send another confirmation, that is, after-the-fact and not beforehand. There was lack of transparency and deception in how they conduct business. Any cancellation attempts will only generate another confirmation as this is how their website is programmed. Reservation.com is a deceptive organization and should be reported to the appropriate authorities, i.e., attorney general to initiate a class action lawsuit. This firm does not deserve even one star. It is a too scam!

I booked two rooms the same day. Arrived at our hotel was told we could not use any water. No shower or bathroom until the next morning. We did not stay due to the issue and this company will not give me my money back. They should have known that the hotel had no water and directed us to a different one but no. They are keeping my money and they changed you an extra 20.00 that they don’t tell you about. Don’t book anything with this company!! You will be sorry if you do!!

So, not only did they charge me a $20 "service fee" but the rude customer service lady hung up on me when I told her that I wasn't aware of this charge! The total amount of the hotel doesn't show on your screen until after you've hit submit. And guess what? There's another $20 fee for cancellation. And even more fees bc she said will accrue just for calling!! Absolutely DO NOT use this service! I didn't even know I was using it, as it appeared to be the hotel website and not reservations.com. WOW is all I can say.......

I thought I was booking directly with the hotel and somehow it was with reservationd.com. Booked a refundable room and found out the refund was good for less than 24 hours. The cancellation fee was the entire booking cost. I was told no refund even though it is during the COVID-19 Pandemic. A total scam.

This is obviously a dishonestly run site. They don't let you know that when you confirm a reservation on their site, you are actually making a nonrefundable purchase which includes unreasonable fees and other charges. For a room at Holiday Inn in Chicago, they charged me $119 PLUS over $44 in "government mandated" taxes and fees PLUS $19.95 in more fees. The exact same room at Tripadvisor is $119 plus $19.95 in total taxes and fees. I leave it to you to figure out who is telling the truth. Be sure and check them out with the BBB. You will read this: BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints; consumers are reporting they are not made aware of certain fees the company charges in order to make a reservation through the site. Additionally, consumers have reported lack of transparency when it comes to going on what appears to be an actual hotel site...

I used their service to book a hotel for a business trip. 10 minutes later I had to cancel. And now a month later I received an e-mail and they refuse to give me a refund even after they said they would. Terrible customer service. The email said to call the customer service number and when I called customer service they said to respond to the email. User beware this company is nothing but liars and frauds!!! Reservations.com do not use!!! If there was a score lower than one that's what I would give them they are keeping my $364
