I have an A1 credit history and have been trying to open and operate an account with Revolut for 2 weeks. Its been awful, shambolic and quite honestly the most ghastly experience of using financial services in my entire 60 odd years. They now have the money that I deposited to fund the account but I'm unable to access any of it and they have thus far refused to refund. I've been passed around at least 6 'chat agents'...who all assure that 'my request has been raised' but with a different team. If the experience of opening an account is anything to judge by then operating an account must require nerves of steel. My advice to anyone considering Revolut would be not to bother

I opened a Revolut account. I thought the whole purpose was to be able to use your money internationally. But when I moved to a different country, I discovered that I could not access my account at all because, of course, my old phone account was no longer usable, and there is no way to really work with a Revolut account except with the phone app. But worse, there was no way to actually communicate with anyone at Revolut. I can contact someone by telephone very easily anywhere in the world with my legitimate banks based in the United States and Japan. Not so with Revolut. I followed their instructions on their online website for identifying myself, sending my photo and passport photo. It's just a ruse. They completely ignored this and made no response whatsoever, including at the same email address I had originally used. In the fine print it says that after THREE attempts to identify yourself going through this photo and passport sending procedure, you can then "chat" (still not actually a call with an identifiable person). Notice that they have no international offices listed or people you can easily call. This is not how a trustworthy financial organization operates. Do not make the mistake I made. Simply use a real bank!

Revolut operatirs are absolute (liars). My account is open and verified since July 1 (62 days ago), and all what they call (due diligence) bla bla bla have been done via camera and legal documents. They never asked any extra layer of verification between 1 July and 25 August. The problem arised when I recieved a 1000 euros incoming wire on 25 Ausgust. They asked for a duplicate of the initial documents and I already provided them. The lady SPOKE TO ME LIVE ON CAMERA AND said "by tommorow" (Friday morning 26 August, your account is re-instated and you can withdraw your funds. As long as the account was opened since July 1st with 10 euros balance , they never froze my assets or de-activated me..All they care about is to hold consumer's monies as long as they can.. The other scammers named (Wise-Transferwise) follow same strategy.. It seems negative feedbacks on Trust Pilot scares them and they reply instantly with (copy/paste) messages which do not reflect the problem. They never answer my emails internally on the revolut platform. Iam asking you to send my funds back to me and close the account, iam not asking you to open/activate my account. You are naturally born liars/thieves. I can smell scammers/thieves from a mile away, and your smell stinks. Under what law, you freeze the small funds of consumers after 63 days of opening the account? Consumers living legally inside Europe. Iam not a refugee you scumbags. The steps any bank follows are the same, whether they are a respectable bank with a physical address or whether they are thieves like you operating a virtual application.. The steps and (due dilligence) are the same. 1) a European ID or residency card. 2) a letter from Municipality stating address/BSN . 3) A small 2 or 10 euros wire transfer from another real bank to confirm name/address and I did those in end of June. PAY ME MY BALANCE YOU THIEVES AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNT, YOU STINK. You should not be allowed to operate in EU. You still carry the mentality of Soviet Union of (tyranny and oppression)/confiscation of properties since you are based in Lithuania.. Nothing changed in your mentality.

A Fraud activity was detected on my Recolut card. My card was terminated. I was asked to complete a charge form to claim the money back that was stolen. I asked why am I doing all this when as your loyal customer you should refund my money instantly as your security wasn’t tight enough. I spent the entire day with them and it was like talking to a wall. Very non interested robot like. I am regretting joining with Revolut. I have lost the trust. Extremely poor service. Shocking response. Don’t care a dam attitude. Only words like oh we understand oh we do want to help etc etc but no one helped. Please do not join up with Revolut. If I receive my money by Monday 5th Sept 2022 I will personally come back here and take it all back. But I highly doubt they will do anything. They have washed their hands off me and now only option I have is to take legal advice

I bought two pints at a pub in Helsinki. One on my RBS card, the other on Revolut, both contactless, both costing €5.50. At the states exchange rate, this is £4.6547... RBS charged £4.65 and Revolut charged £4.66. their rounding on exchange rates is not transparent and is more expensive than a traditional bank.

I have business accounts with Revolut and have been trading since 2020. All our company funds go into the Revolut account and then get distributed between other accounts. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, our accounts were blocked. However, it wasn't blocked completely. I have no access to it, but Revolut still accepts funds from our customers, meaning the balance is rapidly growing. To clarify, my company turnover for 2020-2021 was £5.8 Million. I've been chatting to their apologetic staff, who kept me in the dark the second day. They are calling it a security issue, and that is that. I was told they follow the EU's 5th AML Directive and want to establish whether our customers or close relatives or close associates of a 'Political Exposed Person' is associated with the business and asked to account for an employee. After I told them that I knew nothing about his association with any political relations, they "transferred my case to a specialised team", and again I was fed apologetic replies and that everything was going to be ok and that they were here to help me—what a pile of b-shit. Using this 'Directive', they have the power to freeze your funds until whenever. If you hold any accounts with Revolut, be aware.

I asked Revolut to buy £14000 of Bitcoin at the rate they quoted £18550 (per Bitcoin). I expected to see my holding showing a value of £13750 or thereabouts after commission taken. Instead my holding was showing £10600 because they had made the trade at the rate of £21002 in error - a ridiculously high rate and not one they'd offered since early June. They have only refunded me £1941 and refused to refund the balance saying they have refunded me at the £18550 rate as that was correct but not at the rate they traded (£21002) because they say that was an error rate! I am at least £1200 out of pocket; they refuse to escalate this to a manager and say this is now closed. Their mistake not mine yet they will not refund me what is rightly due. Disgusting but equally as bad is that it has taken 5 days to try and resolve and you cannot speak to anyone in authority who could easily resolve this. I will be withdrawing all my funds shortly.

Fraud thats what they are. After having an account for a few years just noticed there were few hundred eur at different intervals just disappear from account without posting any transaction at all. Balance just magically readjusts down. I've been trying to get an explanation form their agents on the chat, but all same story, no resolution, no explanation. Oh and heres an interesting part, there is no phone number to speak to anyone so you may be sitting on chat messages for hours waiting to get response. Fraud, stay well clear from Revolut.

I've been a Revolut customer for almost 6 years and I'm extremely disappointed on the very unprofessional approach they took on shutting down my account for no reasonable reason; if it was one they would have provided it and not hiding behind the terms and conditions. But I've been reading negative reviews online for the last couple of years for a lot of users that they got their account suspended or shut down for no reason but didn't believe them. However, I see now that almost all of the terrible critics are true. I've been using Revolut services in the same way as I did when i first opened my account. This isn't a correct/professional approach of a financial institution, closing an account without providing a solid justification. As Revolut's unqualified support personnel informed me several times, that is a final decision and can't be changed. Now I'm rushing to liquidate all my positions and transfer out all my funds before the deadline...

I am a metal customer of Revolut since 2017 or 2018. one of benefit of metal customers is delayed flight insurance. basically, you need to register your flight from app and if its delayed 60 minutes or more you have free lounge access. Yesterday my flight was with AirBaltic from Vienna to Riga and Riga to Tallinn. When I arrive to Vienna airport I registered myself for Vienna however cant register myself for Riga-Tallinn flight from app. I contacted with customer care. They told me they will investigate it. and Before my riga tallinn flight (almost 5 hours before) I asked if its delayed more than 60 minutes whats the plan. Are you gonna compensate it or not? there is no answer. When I arrived to Riga airport my flight delayed more than 60 minutes and Since yesterday customer care just says ''oh we are sorry we are checking it'' Funny fact is when I tried to register myself for other flights (which is non-delayed) it was working. I registered myself for Tampere flight and it was all fine. When I tried to other delayed flights app is not allowed. so its kinda scam. They promise you for lounge pass however system checks flights and if its delayed you are not allowed for register. I am attaching all screenshots.

I tried moving the balance available from my Savings Vault to my account. However, these were automatically reverted, without any explanation. I then proceeded to close the vault, hoping it would have moved the balance to my Revolut account. This did not work and at the moment I cannot even see the available balance, as my original vault is closed. None of this was successful and therefore I tried chatting with the support team. So far I have not been provided with any information as to why I cannot access my money. In the current climate it is not convenient to not be able to pay the mortgage. Not being able to access or understand why I am not able to access and when I will be able to access is also not convenient for alternative plans.

Offered £50 referral fee. Made out it was simple but when I chased it up they put so many conditions it was almost impossible to get it. Big Con don’t fall for it. Plus there is no one to talk to apart from chat which is very poor. Finally don’t go for the premium card. The travel insurance is basic and can not be upgraded and the airline lounge we tried to get into in Italy did not exist or was in another terminal.

In June, Revolut deactivated my account and asked me to withdraw money from it immediately. I did it. In July, Revolut asked me to replenish my account for paying the service fee for my account (£6.99), which was deactivated in June. I tried, but it was impossible. I was deprived of the opportunity to perform any operations with my account, including replenishing it. I can't even close my account. However, Revolut keeps sending me threatening messages: “If you can’t fund our account using any of the above methods, we will have to turn to third-party companies to collect debts.” Conclusion. Even if you managed to get your money back from Revolut, don't think it's a win. Revolut will continue to charge money for maintaining your account, on which all transactions are prohibited, and which has a zero balance, which you cannot close. Revolut requires you to fund your account. At the same time, Revolut prohibits any replenishment of funds in your account. Bravo Revolut!

worst customr service ever. they think technology will replace the human trust that banks where selling to people for decades. this is the number one reason that we'll be reading in couple years about the Downfall of Revolut.

I made a transfer to Ukraine of 65 euros from Europe, but the recipient received only 35 euros. In support, they told me that 30 euros is the commission of the intermediary bank. They don't know the name of the bank. When sending the payment about such a commission was not warned. How is it even possible to take 45 % of the money? I don't recommend any international transactions with Revolut!!!!
