“I so wanted to like these, I loved the story behind the brand and the photos looked delicious and the brownies looked moist but in reality they were so dry and I’ve honestly got the sweetest tooth but I felt like I was eating a cake full of sugar. So sorry maybe they are nicer in the shop and fresh but it’s definitely a no for postal delivery, especially given the price.”
“I ordered a mixed box of brownies and they were inedible. They were dry and tasteless. They also weren’t labelled and we had no ideas which ones were which, although it didn’t matter as none of them had flavour anyway.”
“Given to me by my sister this Christmas (2020). She knows I have a dreadfully sweet tooth. A great big con.
A nice box of assorted bars, all looked very good but on tasting they are dreadful, certainly there is no home-made flavour about them. Tasteless, it's hard to distinguish between any of the flavours, the biscuit base, the filling, the topping, the chocolate, it all merges into one chewy messy flavour that is a waste of time eating.
I'm not surprised to see that Lord Sugar got his money out as soon as he could, I wouldn't want to be associated with failure either. Neither does she put a sell by date on the individual cellophane packets, just the box, they could have been made years ago.”
“Christmas gift 2020, looked great, tasted disgusting! Stale, hard, tasteless ! Handmade but full of E’s and Emulsifiers and palm oil. Total Rip Off sadly. Better off with supermarket cakes! Poor show”
“Beware!
If you order from Ridiculously Rich by Alana, make sure you screenshot ever step of your order.
I ordered a Mixed box to arrive in time for Xmas so that the family and the kids can enjoy a nice little treat over the period.
However, a week after ordering the box turned up at my door.
I was very very confused as I was more than sure I clicked for the order to be delivered around the 22nd December 2020.
I then emailed the help desk and asked her to look into this for me and the reply from the Customer Support person was that I had made a mistake and that I should freeze the cakes....
There were also 2 cakes that were pretty squashed and again I was told that they are not responsible for what happens during delivery and that once it leaves their site it's not their problem.
This is not a good attitude, if I was to order a glass pane from someone and the glass arrived broken - I would get in touch with the supplier and it would be their responsibility to see what has happened. The fact that they wanted to remain blameless is lazy and a terrible attitude.
All I was asking for was for a replacement box to be sent out nearer the time and I can give this box away to someone who needed the food/ someone on the street.
Instead I was told that I should check what I'm doing next time.
I haven't even tried them yet as I still intend to give them away regardless.
I won't be ordering anymore and I won't recommend this place to anyone else.
I have already told my friends to stay away.
Summary - Find somewhere else, this is not worth the hype.”
“Ordered the cookie dough cake bar box. They were absolutely tasteless. I would eat almost anything sweet but i ate half of one and threw the whole lot away. Really poor product.”
“The company delivered me the wrong box and when I wrote to them they offered me a 25% discount on it or told me I'd have to go to the Post Office to return it, and for a 40-minute round-trip it wasn't worth it.
Not only is their customer service appalling but the products are surprisingly awful. Most of the brownies were stale and dry, the Rocky Road was inedible and it was only the Lotus Rocky Road that I'd want to eat again. Considering the price of these they are not worth it at all.”
“They are called fresh cakes but then when ordering your told the post has a 15 day delay they advise this is untrue..
and the company state the cakes are long life 30 days plus after you order where they state there freshly baked for you :(
but so stale before arriving I don’t know how they could possibly be safe for my children to eat and if just long life may as well trust mr Kipling as there also stale they have an average of 50 grams of sugar and fat in the kids don’t need that in a day!!
I know a treat but thought there was sugar law for a good reason
but bought a sale box but didn’t expect them to be several weeks old due to being reduced and brought ones during Ramadan that had alcohol in and sold as surprise as unmarked selection and they do not mark any of the cakes to know what it’s meant to be or if it’s one you want or another family member or better for the kids
and no codes so no way to trace back the batch I’m unsure how this works and they were once nice but unfortunately relying on first time customers or gifts I think
so people complain less but very sad that no pride is put into the food made And that no respect for culture as states that the marshmallows are not vegetarian then when asked if Ok for Muslims states she had no idea but yet knows it’s pork gelatine to advise vegetarians but yeas no pride at all id be so ashamed if someone got them as a gift I baked and at £3 each not ok, company won’t answer any questions about when each cake was made and instead blocked me from commenting on any posts or writing to them to complain as would never of put a review online otherwise but as I got blocked for questioning food safety due to having terminal cancer I feel I have no choice :(”
“Massively overpriced for very small very average tasting products, if you go to any supermarket and buy their best of range it'll be a third of the price and tastier.”
“Be careful when purchasing baked goods! My husband went to take a bite out of his sealed mint crunch to find a wrapper of some sort, baked into his sweet treat! Was absolutely awful, I've contacted customer service still waiting for a response regarding the outcome.”
“Bought a box of 5 at a showcase set up by Alana. Every single item was stale, barely edible and not fit for sale. Terrible, and just not good enough. If you are trying to get extra business by putting on a 'cake festival' you don't put out stock that is past its best and clearly not worth the money. I have no idea how old these tray bakes were, or the standard of ingredients but I do know I am angry and revolted as a customer.”
“I saw stall in Cramlington Manor Walks, and decided to treat myself, and at £3 for a small square of brownie it wasn’t value for money!!
For the price I anticipated perfection, what I got was a very “ average” brownie, sorry.”
“Was hoping for a Christmas treat, but these were really disappointing. Nothing you couldn't buy similar & much cheaper in M&S.
The creme brulee brownie sounded good, but no crunch, just a thin sugary soft topping.
The rocky road looked like it was made by an infant school for a bake sale. Maybe thats the home made look they are aiming for.
The pieces varied a lot in sizes and most weren't big enough to share.
Overall I wouldn't buy again. Wish I'd questioned why all their reviews are from 2017.”
