“Have been a loyal RA customer for 10+ years and all was good until I had an issue. Bought a fuel tank, but was sent the wrong one that was clearly the wrong size/shape. Exhausted every avenue to correct this issue, including attempting to file a return on their website, emailing them and even calling them (unsuccessfully). At the end of the day all my effort got me nowhere so I disputed the charge with my credit card. From the time I filed the dispute, I have been blocked by their site from making any more purchases. While 9/10 times their price is better than amazon, ebay etc, factor in shipping and the benefit of proper customer service when you need it matters and you will quickly learn (as I did) that you indeed get what you pay for.”
“Good prices, but without free shipping you end up paying out the ass! Not to mention that they're payment options suck. They need to add Affirm like everyone else has. At least that way if I'm gonna be bled dry by shipping I can split it up into smaller monthly payments than the PayPal pay later option.”
“Si no tienen la forma clara y precisa para poder realizar compras no se puede comprar dicen que busquen en el catálogo que catálogo lo que tienen es una lista tampoco hay forma de comunicarse, usted intenta usar el correo electrónico se mete ahí y vuelve y lo revierte al mismo lugar, cuando uno trabaja mecánica esto no es una alternativa por el trabajo que hay que pasar para no resolver nada tampoco tienen un TEAM para orientación es un problema”
“Rock Auto is horrible. Absolutely horrible!
I have ordered three headlights from Rock Auto, the first two were not assembled correctly so I had to pay their ridiculous fee to ship it back, roughly $90.00 (not my fault for your faulty product) I want to be refunded.
So I ordered another light and upgraded by roughly an additional $400.00 to hopefully ensure the product would not be faulty/improperly put together. I received the third headlight today September 13,2023 and it’s missing all the electrical, it’s only a shell, all this for over a $1000!
This was not in the description!!
The description and the picture clearly stated a fully assembled headlight assembly with adaptive headlight control, why would the first two RockAuto sent have all the parts at $600 but the third one at $1000 doesn't?!!
Rock Auto clearly sent the wrong product and are expecting me to pay roughly $90 (again) to ship the wrong product they sent back to them.
Their service attendant said it was my fault! And closed the ticket.
My fault? Unbelievable, RockAuto is disgusting in every sense of the term.
They owe me close to $180 in shipping costs.
Go anywhere else, I mean anywhere, even if it’s a tad more expensive, you’ll thank yourself.”
“They sent me an order with a missing part and they won't honor the warranty at all and at least send me the gasket that was missing made out of rubber and you can't buy elsewhere without buying the whole part over again for $119”
“FAILED FUEL PUMP CAUSES INJECTION PUMP TO FAIL. ROCKAUTO’S POLICIES WON’T ALLOW WARRANTY CREDIT AND WON’T COVER DAMAGE COSTS. GOODBYE ROCKAUTO
On January 25, 2018 I bought a Rockauto lift pump for my 2001 RAM diesel. I replaced my existing lift pump even though it was working fine because I knew how important the lift pump was for protecting the injection pump. Slightly over one year later their lift pump failed, also taking out my injection pump. The lift pump had been professionally installed. The lift pump cost me $145 (and $130 for installation) but the rebuilt injection pump cost me over $2000. I contacted Rockauto, telling them that their part was responsible for the injection pump failure and they should pay for its repairs. I basically got a form email back telling me where to file a warranty claim on the lift pump. THEN, later, I found out that since it had been a year my only warranty option was for a replacement pump; no cash, no credit, no nada!
I have bought four parts from Rockauto - and two of them have been defective (the other was a brake caliper). I was pretty grumpy after paying TWICE for the installation of the brake caliper but I am beyond angry at the huge costs to repair damage from their failed lift pump – which they will only replace, not giving credit. The most upsetting part of this, however, is the impersonal, unsympathetic way they responded to my situation! I see no reason to purchase anything from them again. Those shops that offer 24 month NAPA parts and labor warranties are looking very, very good!”
