It is sad to rate Roman so badly, as their clothes are good quality. However, I have decided not to buy from them again, as I find it absolutely ridiculous that refunds are only issued as gift cards! Is this even lawful? I have bought clothes for myself in the past but recently bought an item as a present for my mother in law. The dress did not suit her and had to be returned. The refund could only be issued as a gift card so I am now out of pocket; having spent on the dress and having to buy an alternate present. I know I can use the gift card for myself, sometime in the future but I would prefer the money back in my account! I imagine Roman lose many customers because of this unwavering policy. They have definitely lost my custom.

My dress was delivered to another address. Not to my home. Never got it! Complained on Trust Pilot too. Roman dissapeared with my money and my dress. Uk mail sent photo of delivery at an unknown door and address. Where is Roman to account for what happened? Want my money back!

Ordered a dress for next day delivery from Roman. I knew this dress looked good on me but didn't want to travel 12 miles to collect it so I ordered for the next day.....Don't ever expect next day delivery, it isn't a thing. 4 days later it arrived, still just in time for the wedding I'm attending on 18th August. Have ordered next day delivery before and never got it.

I have brought so many items from yourself and have been so so happy …. However my latest purchase the lovely jump suit black at the bottom and whit polka dot on the top ….. Followed the wash instruction …. Came out grey ? I’m not happy not the quality I’d expect from yourselves … I’m so upset as it was a beautiful piece of clothing. I would like to say the ladies in the store at Kettering are lovely !! And always helpful

Returned clothing and received part refund. Send 2 e-mails over 2 weeks with no reply to get the rest of my refund. After several attempts to ring and getting cut off at number 3 in the queue after waiting around 20-30mins i eventually got through and was promised the rest of my refund. 2 weeks have gone by -no refund. Rang several times to yet again get cut off when down to number 2/3. I am currently number 11 again. Like previous customers have said they are keeping peoples money. I wont be buying again, but I will keep asking for Roman to return MY money

I purchased a blouse in April in store in the Horsham branch but didn’t have time to try it on. It was much too big but when I tried to return it a couple of days later the shop was unexpectedly closed due to staffing issues. I wasn’t able to make a special trip into the town again and so decided to return it by post. I enclosed my receipt and expected to receive a credit voucher in return. It’s now August! I have been pursuing this refund for 4 months. I have had a couple of unsatisfactory email response asking for the identical information but NO refund! Previously I had shopped with the company quite a lot and liked their clothes but on a matter of principle I shall never shop with them again until this issue Is resolved. It’s more than incompetence, I feel cheated.

I've recently placed my first online order. Really pleased with the quality and delivery. I needed to return two items for replacement and, having read all of the negative reviews here, I was concerned the service would be poor. However, pleased to report that it has been excellent!

I have bought a lot of clothing from Roman and have not been disappointed by the quality and designs however , the delivery and availability is the issue I have. Rarely does anything arrive within the time stated as expected , I don't like waiting for over.a week .sometime close to 2 weeks . Availability issue - select size , says its in stock , order and pay , and get an email message to say its out of stock, do I want an email when it's back in stock , no I don't when its paid for and there are no guarantees of when it is back In stock. I did agree to this option once but waited months never got it so had to pursue the refund , if I hadn't called wonder if I would have ever had received the email. Out of curiosity I tried to order the item whilst I was waiting for stock and it still let me order despite customer services saying it was out of stock. I am writing the review today whilst waiting for latest order placed on Monday its now Saturday and no sign of or info on tracking. Shame as it is putting me off and is certainly not somewhere you would order from if you want to shop for a short notice occasion. If you don't mind waiting and don't need to return, I would give a much better review.

I sent a Red Glitter Hanky Dress back to them which I purchased from Ebay absolutely brand new labels attached. However the glitter kept shedding on other clothes in the wardrobe so I contacted customer services ( Re Messenger) who gave me the returns address so they could seemingly see the problem at the returns department. This was on the 21st June and I of course kept the certificate of posting. I now have heard from them and they say as the dress was an ebay purchase the problem lies between myself and the ebay seller. My argument is that this dress is a Roman Original and its the garment that I am complaining about as I needed to pack it in a suitcase and couldnt possibly as the material sheds glitter on everything else. they say they cannot help me at all and WHEN they have located it they will return it to me. I would have been happy to exchange it for another dress but no communication at all. I tried to phone them but on numerous occasions was 40th in the queue last time

I've ordered a few things from this company and had to send a couple of things back. After reading some of these reviews I was not expecting a refund any time soon but full refund received within a week. Love the jungle print dress by the way, a great fit. Well done Roman.

I have been ordering clothes from Roman for many years, I have never had a single issue. I ordered £384 worth of clothes back in June, and I’ve not received a single item. I have had no reply to emails or contact form. I have tried ringing but each time I have not got through as I am 79 in queue , 80 in queue, 30 in queue et cetera et cetera

I have been waiting since the 4th May for a refund. There has been no response to my emails and the phone is permanently engaged. I will not buy from Roman again. I'm on a pension so can't afford to be out of pocket.

Got off to a bad start as no communication, e mail, phone etc until I mentioned taking to Trading Standards (not what I wanted to do), regarding order. Anyway prompt response when I mentioned TS, order dispatched and now recieved blouse. Really pleased. If Roman had communicated firstly then I wouldn't have needed to mention taking it further. Anyhow I was pleased with the prompt reply and order is what I normally expect from Roman. Just please keep customers in the loop and although not easy, take the time to reply to customers.

Their customer service is shocking. I buy a lot of their products but recently purchased a top which fell far short of usual standards. In fact after a few washes it was fit for nothing but the bin. Sent a complaint via website but weeks later no reply despite it saying they will respond in 48 hours. Not impressed at all.

I order a lot from Roman and overall i am really happy with them. Reading all the reviews and having had to send back items for refunds i suggest using Klarna as the payment option. Choose "Pay in 30 days" which gives you the time to receive, try and send back if not suitable. Once you have sent the items back register the return on the Klarna app. Klarna will mark the payment as on hold and will not take the payment from you. I find that return refunds are taking around a week doing it this way. hope this helps

After waiting nearly three weeks for a refund on two dresses, 14 working days, I rang today and the long queue soon went down very quickly. A very nice lady took my order numbers and processed the refunds immediately. After reading all the bad comments, I was pleasantly surprised

Never received order. Took several a days for response to email and they confirmed lost in transit. Instructed them to resend - more days of absolute silence - then a partial refund sent to my account; a partial refund for an item they confirmed lost in transit.

Why don't I get a reply and a refund on my 2 dresses I've returned I've written 2 emails given reference number etc supposed to receive a reply in 2 days of sending mail nothing!!! This is not customer service would not use again .its so unreliable.

Wish I'd read the reviews regarding refunds. The same as all the other reviews, dreadful service will definitely NOT be ordering from this company again.
