“Unreliable! Royal Mail have let me down again. They can’t do the most basic of tasks and that was to deliver a greetings card. The card was posted with a first class stamp, to ensure it got to the recipient on time. Failed.....so where is the card? Thought I’d raise a claim online (I haven’t bothered in the past) The process to claim is ridiculous, Proof of posting, I mean who actually goes in to a post office and gets a proof of postage for a simple card? No proof of actually posting the item, means no refund for the money spent on the card, which they have lost!!
Yes, Covid is around at the minute, so as we can’t get to see our loved ones, it makes receiving a card a valuable form of contact. The Royal Mail are using Covid as an excuse, yet other companies appear to be managing to deliver as normal.
The company need a good shake up! I will be using other postal companies in future.”
“Multiple times lying about attempted deliveries. Sit in all day, no attempted delivery, no red slip posted, no communication. Only when checking tracking information do I find out they ‘attempted delivery’ now I have to collect the next day because they’re only open between 8am and 10am.”
“Every other courier leaves a parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place at the property, NOT ROYAL MAIL, you have to collect at a local depot, i know you can rebook delivery but that is not always possible with working hours, Your website clearly states local office hours they are open, even states OPEN NOW. They have either chosen their own opening hours or your website is out of date, There is a scrappy sheet of paper on the window with reduced hours WHY!!!! Another unnecessary journey created by ROYAL MAIL.”
“I have been expecting a parcel for 6 days which has failed to materialise, its at Chelmsford MC according to tracking but not been sent on to Ipswich depot for delivery - Cant get them on phone, sent several E Mails and finally got reply giving no information on where that parcel is. In fact I have read reply twice and get the impression that they are apologising for a delay in delivery and that parcel had now been delivered - NOT SO I STILL DONT HAVE MY PARCEL!!!!!!!! Covid 19 or no Covid 19 their customer service is appalling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Posted a letter to Brazil, tracked with as promise of 5 to 7 days delivery time... 1 1/2 months later... Not delivered, still in transit and cannot ask for compensation for another couple of weeks... The person I spoke to only offered platitudes to my query 'once it leaves our shores, we can no longer guaranty'... Useless...”
“Horrendous service. No mail for 6 days. Awaiting bus pass and now having to pay for 4 buses each day and hugely out of pocket. Have run out of money to get to work tomorrow (essential worker). Tried phoning Royal Mail delivery office in Perth to see if I can get someone to pick up our mail - no response. Called complaints line to see when our mail would be delivered. Advised May be Saturday 20 February (last delivery 9th February) - adviser hung up on me. Left an automated review. Hope my phone call was taped for training purposes.”
“They steal the post and won't give out the contact number of the undelivered parcel centre in Northern Ireland . And then sell all undelivered parcels at auction making millions ! A con outfit and they wonder why people use other delivery services !”
“My g/f is still waiting for her valentine flowers arrived tracked at Shrewsbury sorting office at 5am on Saturday Morning to supposed to be delivered on Saturday.
Now 1 .30pm Monday no flowers.
The moment is ruined i live 300 miles away and havent seen her for 6 months.
The surprise of her getting them is lost as have been contacting her to ask if she recieved them.
Im sure the royal mails wives had lovely flowers on valentines day while i have been made to look a fool
Loooking forward to hearing from shrewsbury sorting office manager[but i doubt it.useless”
“Got a message on my mobile that my parcel been delivered??? Not to my house. None of the neighbours got my parcel. No one answers the phone. Con company. Avoid, Avoid Avoid.”
“Sent legal documents (contract for sale of house) special delivery guaranteed 1pm. No tracking available despite this being promised, no way of finding out where documents were as no one would answer the phone, docs finally delivered two days late- sale fell through. I don’t usually buy from any company that uses RM but thought at least this method would work- I was given so many promises and charged so much! Standard email in response to my complaint- ‘Covid etc etc’. How are Amazon and other companies still delivering next day without fail then? Even Hermes is delivering!!”
“I've just used Royal Mail's robot to try and track a card that has gone missing (although I believe it's been stolen by one of the post office people who knew what was inside my card). The robot repeated the tracking number back to me and kept getting it wrong. Useless service. Why can't we speak to a human?”
“No post or parcels for a week now.
Amazon are continuing with there next day deliveries, the supermarkets are delivering without delays and the milkman delivers every day!
But Royal mail uses any excuse to not deliver.
Track & trace is usless and pointless.”
“I had an email on Monday saying my parcel will be delivered the following day, it’s now Friday and still no parcel. Also waiting for 2 other parcels one ordered the previous week and the other 5 days ago. Very unhappy 😡”
“Royal mail are a complete waste of space these days, full of lazy workers that don't do thier job properly.
When parcels are delivered to my house I come home to find a red card in the porch "sorry we missed you" a card with just my name on no tracking number because they are to lazy to fill out the cards properly, if it wasn't for eBay tracking sytem I wouldn't know where half my royal pacels are this happens a lot not only that when there is a tracking number written on the card you go onto thier website for redelivery but more often than not the tracking number is not recognised even though when you go on to track and trace it lists it's delivery or another problen is there is no option for redelivery, so you go and collect it from the delivery office which if your lucky is open for an hour before they are tired and lazy to stay open, so you get there with your blank red card and they say "ooh sorry there is no tracking number on this card, it will take a few days to find your parcel" yea what joke hey, royal mail are useless and their incompetence will be thier downfall in the end because other parcel companies are a much better cleaner and efficient service.”
“Sent a parcel to each of our two sons, they did not contain anything expensive so posted 2nd class. One took 2 weeks to arrive the other still hasn’t arrived after 1 month. Will use Hermes next time!”
“Firstly, I must say our general letter mail deliveries are fine. I have no complaints and applaud the efforts of the personnel involved in maintaining this service with our regular postie carrying out the duties in a friendly and exemplary manner.
This is in direct contrast to the parcel delivery service which I can only describe at best as awful, as it was before to the terrible pandemic we are currently in. To begin with the track and trace system does not function in anything approaching a reliable and usable form so the delivery date of a parcel can only to be guessed at! There is no electronic means to request a delivery to be left with a neighbour or in an alternative safe location in the event of nobody being at home, as it can with all other major delivery agencies with approximately the same carriage charges! The only option open being an antiquated system of a form being taken in person to the sorting office which then needs to be repeated if circumstances change. Not a 21st century solution and not a practical option in the current lockdown. When a delivery is made it is invariably the little red card saying, “we tried to make a delivery” and not the parcel itself, even when we are at home and the doorbell functions perfectly!! The other day my wife took less than 10 seconds to answer the door only to be greeted by a rude delivery person already pushing the obligatory red card through the letterbox! 12 seconds and we would again be having to make another unnecessary trip to the sorting office!”
