“Sent a large letter (padded envelope) by 48 Hour Tracked. Arrives 1 week later at the customer's local depot with a surcharge meaning the customer had to collect. Photo sent by the customer shows the item had been repacked into a plastic box and put inside a mailing bag making it bigger than a large letter and thus moving into the Small Parcel category. Customer services helpful advice was that the staff have to follow procedures. Totally unable to understand what the issue was. Sounds like a way for RM to make some extra money from their mistakes.”
“Postmen don't close gate behind them even though I have 3 notices 1 on wall 1 on gate and 1 on window obviously can't read so how they manage to post mail is unbelievable complaints are ignored your just another moaner as far as this company are concerned they have no respect”
“sitting on phone for 40 minutes, why each time I call Royal Mail its always a 40 minute wait. no doubt working from home operators who are more interested in day time TV than answering their phones. Get them back in the office asap.
And why does your survey say "did you community with the company via live chat"... you don't have live chat, which you should!”
“Absolutely pathetic. Lost an extremely valuable parcel immediately after receiving it. Gave it a tracking number and after that, gone. Tracking number doesn't exist. Parcel disappeared.”
“There is no excuse for not updating customers in more details about delays to post or parcels.....life and death is already a big issue with the world and covid...but that's been going on a while....so why NO communicating in Bold letter's on Your website...On what areas are being hit badly with short staff...ect.... But then in my case... all I can see is my parcel still sitting at my local office for on going a week...so is there no staff at all....or has the virus got to the computer system so customers anxiety goes on high level due to extra stress of waiting for communication on important letter's/ parcels???”
“There is no any stars given. It takes forever to get through someone on the phone. When I managed to finally speak to a person there was no help at all. The person on the phone must of been the rudest person I ever spoke to. Wouldn't let me explain the problem, just talking over me constantly and telling me what I already know. My parcel has been delayed by Royal mail, tracking lost by them and the guy was very rude and unhelpful. Their customer service is terrible and they need to rethink who they employ.”
“I don’t think the Royal Mail could have done worse if they tried. In the mail today was one Christmas card with a first class stamp and the other with a second class stamp, both posted on 20th December 2021).
Whether you pay 1st or 2nd class you get the same awful service. Many of our Christmas cards took a long time to arrive, but this takes the biscuit! I wouldn’t be surprised if a few more work their way to our home in the remainder of January 2022.
What has happened to our Postal Service?”
“Received an email from Royal Mail on Friday with a time slot for a 48hr parcel delivery.Didn't come.Another email Saturday with another time slot.Didn't come.Another email on today (Monday) with another time slot.Didn't come. What the hell is going on?? If they cannot provide the service they they are selling, then they should suspend that service until they can provide it.Surely its fraud to charge for a service that cannot be provided?
I have had no mail for a week now, still waiting for parcels that were despatched before Xmas, altogether, over 20 items bought from Ebay, still to be delivered, its an absolute joke.”
“Rubbish service and a disgrace no mail for days yet they have the nerve to increase postage costs . Royal Mail . Take away the Royal and call it Tortoise”
“Waiting & waiting for the delivery of a parcel for my birthday promised days ago. No-one to speak with only the useless details on the tracking page. About time they were taken over by some company that works like Amazon or any of the other delivery companies.”
“The one good thing about The royal mail is that at least you know the service will be appalling, every single time so there are never any nasty surprises- and they always NEVER reply to emails-”
“I'm so wondering and disappointed.
I posted the Xmas card from Manchester to Norway on December 22th and paid £3.25 for ,so shame it has been delivered on January 7th a little envelope took over 2 weeks, what a service terrible!!!”
“Royal snail,2 weeks for a first class parcel, for a friend to take back overseas. Now going to have to pay to post overseas, won't be using royal snail.”
“Non existent customer service, over an hour on hold to speak to someone on the phone, no response on either twitter or facebook and it takes them 3 days (at least) to reply to an email. Absolutely abysmal. My tracked48 package will now take a week to be delivered with no explantion and no way to contact them”
“Expected my 24hr delivery parcel last Friday, but didn't receive it. OK, that's fine. I waited the 3 day weekend and expected it on Tuesday...but didn't receive it. Wednesday? Nope. Thursday? Surely? Nope. But I got a great email telling me it would be delivered on Friday morning between 8 and 12! Fantastic!
So I get up at 7:45, go downstairs and sleep on the sofa, because my postie will post a 'you weren't in!' card if I don't reach my door in a millisecond. Did I receive it on Friday, one week after the supposed delivery date, during a time slot royal mail said it would be delivered? Of course not. Its stuck at my city's mailing office at 2am and is apparently in transit to my local delivery office. Not sure whose city is so huge it takes 10 hours to drive a mile.
Extremely expensive for parcel delivery, impossible to talk to a human at the company but worst of all is that I've never had anything on time from Royal mail, ever. Still using the covid excuse 2 years on instead of adapting and changing. 70% of the letters I've sent in the past year with 1st class stamps on have gone missing. I avoid using the service as much as I can but some retailers only offer you RM delivery. If its a package delivered by royal mail, you know you will be paying through the roof for even a chance to see your item within the next 6 months. Not sure how they haven't gone bust, but one can only hope and pray they will, and be replaced by a company that is capable of actually managing post and delivering what you paid for.”
