A car with our number was meant to have been in a collision but the claims section on two separate calls have given me 2 dates 5 months apart and cannot say what type of car was involved or where it happened. My renewal premium (despite low mileage and 16 years no claims) has been increased by 30% but no-one can tell me why. The premium payment section cannot even transfer my calls to the claims section. It would seem the IT is too intelligent not only for the clients but for the staff having to use it.

Without a doubt the biggest mistake I have ever made was to take out Home Insurance with this mob. Had a small leak...reported it on Wednesday. Plumber set round. Wouldn't touch it in case there was asbestos. Told me that it needed an Asbestos test and that he would talk to his company about it ( Metroplumb). Never heard a thing back so contacted Saga again. Passed from pillar to post. Eventually spoke to Axa Home emergency. They sent another plumber from a company called FixIf round. Guy said he could fix the leak but couldn't touch the celing because it needed an Asbestos test. I said I knew and thought that is what he had come to do. No ...so I contacted Saga again....passed from pillar to post again. Ended uptalking to the Co-op whowere very stand offish and simly regarded the whole affair as not their problem. Back to Saga...passed on to Axa who said I wasn't covered for an asbestos test. Back to Saga. Closed for the weekend. Friday night now....leak not fixed...water now coming down the light fittings and into the main fuse box. Saga not interested...Axa say I am not covered and need to arrange own asbestos test! You couldn't make this up. Dealing with this lot could not be more difficult! Meanwhile a minor leak has now grown into a major emergency. Do yourselves a favour....Do NOT even consider taking out a home insurance policy with this lot. They are not cheap but their service is. I cannot wait for this policy to expire. I will NEVER deal with them again...I shall cancelmy motor policy too. Without a doubt the WORST insurance company I have ever had to deal with. I had to give one star...there is no box for zero stars . I wouldn't even give them that....minus 5 would be my preferred score. Absolutely useless.....the WORST.

Appalling company. Lies, expensive, errors in cover, refusal to inform of cost to cancel making it impossible to cancel. I have been uninsured driving due to their errors and I will be referring them to the ombudsman. Just don't! Go elsewhere, anywhere but these clowns!

Very poor response to a claim after a car reversed into my vehicle after I had parked it. The claim took over 9 months to resolve. If I didn't phone the company up, about once every month, nothing seemed to be done.

Further to my last comments earlier in the reviews. My new insurance company never wavered the access charge of £89. 73 which they put on my new policy after Saga had stated I had made a claim which Saga later stated in writing that it was a fault of theirs and I had not made a claim. And I am still waiting for the £30 compensation to arrive perhaps it will.

I had a broken window from a burglary. The glaziers used by Saga have messed me around. They cancelled two appointments without warning. Over two weeks later and still no window. How difficult can it be to fit a small piece of glass? Saga has not been much help in getting a speedy resolution to a small job. I dread to think what would happen if I had a really serious problem. I should have used a local glazier. Will be thinking carefully about renewal.

I had a crack in the windscreen. They palmed me off to auto windscreen who told me I’d have to wait a week to get it done. They then brought the wrong windscreen TWO hours late. Several long phone calls later they have said I’ll have to wait a further TWO WEEKS to have it replaced. Shocking, shocking service.

A further update to my comments made earlier in this forum/Reviews, I was contacted by a Customer Relations Executive from Saga who stated that the one claim made that was on my renewal policy should not have been there and it was a fault of theirs, this is what increased my policy with my new insurance company by another £89. 73 he was also sending me a letter stating that I had not made a claim and for me to send it to my new insurance company perhaps they might waver the excess. He also offered me £30 in compensation which I declined at first but accepted on second thoughts so that I could send it to Pudsey, Children in need. All of these problems I have had to deal with while looking after my wife who has had Dementia for nearly ten years unable to walk talk or feed herself plus I am 84 years old myself. Not saying much for a company that is supposed to cater for the elderly

I have had nothing but trouble with Saga home insurance. The service used to be so good... I usually write good reviews but not this time. I was pushed from pillar to post re underwriters etc and eventually Insurance was agreed. I was told the money would be in my account within 2 days. So I went ahead and paid over for my claim. I’ve had a call informing me that Saga is not covering this, the small print was very ambiguous and they now say that the money would be in my account ‘pending authorisation’. I would have not gone ahead with the claim if I’d have known this earlier. Saga, I am disgusted with you service.

I had a problem with a builder and you basically weren’t interested in helping me ,you made an excuse stating that my original building work was in excess of what you cover even though I only wanted to claim a small percentage against the builder

Phoned Saga to tell them I was changing my car which was on an 8 week deliveryand asked for quote on new car, which they gave me. In the meantime my old car came up for renewal, so I renewed that insurance and told them my new car would be ready in about 2 weeks and could they again confirm quote for the new car, which again they did. When I collected my new car and asked them to update my insurance they quoted an increase of more than 30% on their two previous quotes and refused to honour either of their previous quotes. I told them that I would never use them again, but they didn't care.

Went online for a quote for home and contents insurance for a second home. Quote was £266 per year after disclosing full details of 2 claims in last year, NOTE have lived at our current address for 31 years and have made 4 claims in that time. Phoned Saga to check that all details were complete and pay. After an hour of further questions we were told that we would have to pay about £440 for the year because of the 2 claims even though we had disclosed these online and that quote was issued at £266 Really disappointed with 5hus service and would not recommend using Saga to anybody, eventually took the policy out with another insurance company for under £300! Felt nottreated fairly and the quote did not reflect the fact that we have only made about 4 claims in 31 years but paid 31 years of premiums

Dear Sir or Madam. I am sending you this email to let you know how disgusted I am with Saga Insurance it was bad enough that you did not pay out on my claim on the 21/10/2018 for escape of water saying I was not covered but now I have lost my no claims bonus on my building insurance and it has cost me an extra £ 89.73 to insure with a more reputable company, you stated that I had made a claim in the last five years on your renewal documents that was sent to me. A very disgusted and disillusioned ex customer of Saga.

Requested three times a paper copy of my car insurance, at the time of taking the insurance on line I requested a paper copy and twice by phone, still not received a thing. I won’t be renewing with saga, if they can’t do a simple thing like this what would they be like if I need to make a claim?

Decent enough service on the phone until you need to make a claim. I had a small accident in my car which was my fault and Saga have written of the car as an economic write off by insisting that it was taken to the most expensive garage around. Anyway that is not really my issue, what is very poor, after telling me that it is a write off, they then have to send off the car for assessment and explained that I will not get any recompense for 3-4 weeks, and they wouldn't supply a temporary car leaving me without transport to get to work, and no funds to purchase another vehicle. Also as I obviously no longer need the insurance policy where I had paid up front they will not give me any refund on it.
