“The problem with this company is like most others if you change your policy or when its due for renewal they increase the price substantially, when changing my vehicle recently I phoned to see what the likely increase would be and was told between £50 and £ 100 pounds, when I finally took out the policy it had increased by over £ 400, but I was not left with enough time to seek an alternative.”

“paying insurace premium on a sorrento of £380 a year...i sold the car and bought a skoda with a premium (saga )of £211 a year. when i phoned to transfer my insurance i was told that there was a charge of £25 pound to do it....but my monthly payments would stay the same??/...apparantly its because its a newer car so will cost more to repair...after 10 mins of trying to explain that the skoda is a lower insurance group i gave up and cancelled....cost £50.”

“Received my renewal invitation for buildings and contents insurance and was staggered to see a 44.9% increase in the premium ! This despite my insurance needs remaining the same as the previous year and not having made a claim ! I haven`t made a claim since 2010. When I phoned to enquire why such an increase I was told all insurance had increased and this is what I should expect. What rubbish and what an attitude ! I replied that I would go elsewhere and that this is what SAGA should expect.”

“SOME MONTHS AGO I E-MAILED REGARDING CONTINUAL E-MAILS & LETTERS APPLICABLE TO THE ABOVE A/C WHICH WAS CLOSAED YEARS AGOR I RECEIVED MAIL PHONE- CALLS & E MAILS CONFIRMING I WOULD NOT BE TROUBLED AGAIN TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM SARAH WALL REGARDING IMPORTANT INFO RE SAVINGS. “I was a customer of saga but when I phoned for a new quote I was quoted over 600 pounds with 59 years accident free driving I was disgusted, but when I went on go compare saga was the cheapest quote. They need to get their act together as a large company they do not value old customers.”

“Just taken out car insurance with SAGA. The gentleman I spoke to Sam, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I did do a telephone survey on my experience, however my responses were not appropriately noted as I made an error! so I decided to relay my experience on here! My total insurance came to £361, cheapest I've seen by far! Thank you Saga!”

“We have had nothing but a poor response on 4 occasions regarding home emergency cover. Boiler service flooded airing cupboard after drain plug was left loose, no help from saga. 2nd time told us that the flood from bath tap was wear and tear, 3rd basin leak, not covered because only leaked when tap was run!!!! Last but not least we were told that a slightly lesser policy would be the same as our usual enhanced, only to find that unlike enhanced our premium increased by £70!! Waiting for senior person to come back to us”

“first time with Saga, but my wife has been with them for a couple of years. Best not to renew when they send renewal docs, but decline then go online and sign up as new customer, you then get a better deal”
