“Initially everything was great with the new car insurance policy, we had been with Saga for many years and have had good service. However this renewal we had a great quote in my name instead of my wife's. Only to have a call from Saga a few weeks later saying I was not allowed any no claims discount due to being a named driver rather than the policy holder. This seems so unfair as we have not had any claims for about 30yrs on any motor policy. We only decided to change due to having now retired, i seem to be the main driver. I was very annoyed to have to pay quite a lot extra when i truly believed a spouse had the same discount as the policyholder. Not sure what to do this year will have to compare company's and main drivers.”

“They’re not the cheapest or the most expensive, but I opted for a three year fixed price policy. which keeps me at a premium that I know what I am budgeting for, Important when you are of pensionable age.”

“Have taken out two cars insurances today with saga, after getting very high renewal quotes from my currant insurers, Spoke to Gary, who was so helpful and made the whole thing very easy to do. So many thanks to him for all his help.”

“If you are thinking of moving home, don't insure your car with Saga. They will charge you over £100 extra to change your address, even if you are moving to a lower risk area. There is no point in questioning the extra cost as they are not interested as they have you over a barrel.”

“Took out 3 year home insurance with Saga unfortunately they use Covea. My roof was damaged by wind and storm damage confirmed by two independent roofing companies who recommended claiming from insurance. Covea sent an assessor who was totally uninterested took pictures of the roof from the ground. Wrote an almost unreadable reason for refusing claim as incorrect mortar used. Not taking samples or going up on roof. Based on his report the claim was rejected twice not taking into a count we had 70 pH winds in the last two months The roofing company said if the winds were not so bad the tiles would still be there so nothing to do with wear and tear. Reading the financial ombudsman guidelines I am now appealing with them I thought Saga would use companies that were age friendly. I was asked to confirm his decision by saying yes on his phone, even though I had no idea if he was right of wrong. So my advice check who Saga are using to cover you. This has been a very stressful 3 weeks.”
