“They're unreliable. Our online grocery order was not delivered: instead the driver sat outside in the van a while and drove away taking our stuff back to the store. We were told it couldn't be redelivered, I was offered no compensation, they refunded this order but haven't responded to my complaints. He claims to have rung the doorbell/entry system, he didn't, it's working fine, we would have heard it, and to have left a message on my mobile phone NOT the phone I'd given as a contact number for the order and was waiting next to. I phoned customer services to ask why he was waiting outside and not delivering our stuff, they didn't know and said they couldn't contact him, just wait. I'm a disabled wheelchair user unable to go out alone, so couldn't go and ask what was going on in person. When he drove off I rang again, this time they contacted the store he'd come from who blamed me as I'd not got the mobile message. Feel very let-down, they can't be trusted, treat their customers badly, no sense of responsibility.”
“I think the quality of food is great. The customer service is also above the par in most cases. Their shops are relatively more clean and they really value their customers. Some of the products are bit expensive though.”
“Bought the oriental takeway as an ease of the bone tea as we had been very busy all day.
I spent 30 mins getting up and down to keep adding things to the oven. After the cooking time 2 products had burnt to the bottom of trays and the taste of all the dishes was extremely poor. The prawn crackers were disgusting.”

“I have just visited the welwyn garden city store to do a little bit of shopping and collect a reserved item from Argos ( now in the same building ). .
I Decided I'd also get a late breakfast here so went to the cafe , there were two ladies in front of me who paid for their food and went to sit down .
Then the server just turned round to the coffee machine behind her and started cleaning it and doing some some general 'wiping down ' !!. Completely ignoring me and the gentleman behin me .
I looked at the guy behind me and he said with a smile ' have I upset her ' ,,,, we were both confused by her behaviour we just decided to leave .
She was ignorant & rude !!.
I then went to the cotes brasserie for breakfast ,,more expensive but far better service .
Won't be going to Sainsbury's agin !!.”
“We asked an assistant where the "free from" aisle was as we do not know the shop. His response was "I work in the Café I don't know" he then proceeded to check his mobile and walked of. His attitude was totally unhelpful.
We stopped in the Café for a snack and ordered a beef baguette with tea we were informed there is a 20 minute wait. At 1.35pm it arrived 25 minutes after ordering. When we commented on the waiting time the woman said we could take it away with us, and disputed the waiting time at this busy period was 60 minutes implying we were lying. There was a pot of gravy (which was just coloured water and tasteless and the beef was cold). how can I take this. We had paid extra to sit down and eat.
The service here leaves alot to be desired and training should be offered to the staff to provide a better experience.
Seriously consider going else where in future”
“Considering its a new store, I found the staff to be rude and short tempered. You get that at ASDA, I expected better from Sainsburys.
Will continue to shop at Sainsburys, but NOT the Hinckley store.”
