“In the last 2 weeks we have shopped at Sainsbury's & twice it has been a bad experience, last week we reverted to the self checkout as their were large queues at all the checkouts.
This week at a different Sainsbury's we again reverted to self checkout due to large queues again at the checkouts, on both occasions there were queues at the self checkout too.
I have now realised what is causing all the queues, Sainsbury's are not employing sufficient staff to man the the checkouts creating major problems in everybody having to queue, this is creating a bad shopping experience & instead of a manager over seeing the issues & perhaps if there were enough staff they could have the checkouts manned to suit the demand. Last week a number of customers put their shopping baskets down & left the store.”
“There is always a shortage of granolas and other items on the bakery counter. We asked a member of staff who told us of staff shortages, we then asked a "manager" who frankly gave us a load of bluff. We asked him if he was a manager to which he replied "Sometimes" !!
Why could he not give us a straight answer and do something about it which was all we were after?”
“Yesterday 06/11/18 I purchased my weekly groceries at Sainsbury’s Sprucefield shopping centre, part of my purchase were 2 lots of pink lady apples dated 13/11/18. Unfortunately not one of the 12 apples were in good condition with all of them badly bruised leaving me very disappointed in the quality of my purchase”
“After I placed a huge order on Sainsbury´s Website (256 pounds!), they delivered the food to my student accomodation the next day. Several items were missing because the delivery man missed to hand out the last box of food (which I discovered after work). Apart from that he forgot a couple of crates at my place. I phoned the customer service to ask for a delivery of the missing items on the next day. The lovely Lady on the phone made clear, that I cannot get my food, that I paid for!!!, delivered, because I don´t have a UK phone number. Contact per E-Mail or picking up the items at a certain time and place was not possible either. After several minutes of discussion, I tried to point out that the driver needed to come anyways because of the forgotten crates. No chance! No customer service whatsoever! You certainly lost a customer here, Sainsbury´s!! Never will I ever shop there again…. They do have good quality food though..”
“Ashton Under Lyne - Usually the staff here are really nice and friendly! However I spoke to a deputy manager called Dean today who was absolutely awful, such a bullish mentality and so rude! I can't believe that's how he treats people/customers and if that's the way he does treat the customers then I can't imagine how others would be treated i.g staff! So disgusted by the way the situation was handled by someone who absolutely does not represent the store or the company as a whole very well! Good job that the other members of staff seem to be customer focused and friendly people! Disappointed to say the least with how I've been treated by such a "manager".”
“Sainsburys New Barnet,
Arrived just before 10a.m. ,
Fresh bread at the bakery was none existed, the section for loafs half full, empty sections where the spices are, however more importantly staff walking round changing shelf labels or whatever, my point is its not the place to aim for to shop, when Aldi opens maybe Sainsburys will close, as the management don't seem to care about the customers or tge staff.”
“Having placed an online TU order a week ago for our grandchildren’s school uniform I have to say that I did not get the level service I had expected from Sainsbury which has discouraged me from ordering with you again. We chose the click and collect service as it was a large order and postage and packaging would have been more expensive.
Having the grandchildren stay with us for a few days I had anticipated that their school uniforms would be ready for collection on your click and collect service whilst they were with us.
However, this was not the case, even after waiting the maximum length of time 5 working days. Our grandchildren have now gone back home without their school uniform. Which now causes me a problem as they live quiet a distance away. I can’t express how very disappointed I am with your click and collect service. I would now like Sainsbury’s TU to pay for postage and packaging to have my grandchildren’s uniform re directed to thei home address.”
“Considering its a new store, I found the staff to be rude and short tempered. You get that at ASDA, I expected better from Sainsburys.
Will continue to shop at Sainsburys, but NOT the Hinckley store.”
“The Chiswick Sainburys main store has been very disappointing recently. Today there was no chicken breast or thighs left at 6.45pm and whilst it could be because of the snow last week. It has been like that each Monday for weeks now. Usually we manage to get one of the last pack but not tonight. It's super frustrating when items have not been replenished or enough ordered.”
“On a recent home delivery my elderly mother received cream cakes already two days past the sell by date. Also told Sainsbury's she was very disabled and deaf so picked a time delivery slot when I would be with her and the driver phoned and asked if he could deliver 55 minutes early! when I was 30 miles away. Lots of problems, sweets (jellies) out of the packets, loose in the carrier bag. Bread with only one day date, when I had specified this was her only shop for the week and would appreciate as late as date as possible. Ready meals with really short dates, whereby it was obvious to me she could not eat them all the same day. I spoke with the Manager who said he would check her order, then the fresh cream cakes dates 5th Feb and delivered on 8th already well out of date, even my 86 year old mother was shocked at this.”
“Too many staff hanging around talking and empty shelves. Always a trolley in your way, would seem not to care about customer experience! The quality of food is poor and many items don't last until sell by date. Prices are higher than many other supermarkets. I previously stopped shopping at Sainbury's, but thought I would give them ago again, but I think they are slightly worse these days.”
“Normally the drivers who deliver my orders are really friendly and cheerful but the one yesterday just looked and sounded as if he wanted to be elsewhere every time I made a comment. I know the weather was horrible but that doesn't excuse bad manners. Normally I'd give much higher marks.”
“I too had a delivery booked on the 28th Feb. 2018 which was cancelled due to the weather. I rebooked for the Friday but that too was cancelled despite the roads being an awful lot better. I drove myself to the store on Friday evening to get some shopping and the roads were clear.
I booked another delivery today Thursday 8th March at 7.30 PM and once again my order has been cancelled! There is some snow this morning but it is set to improve as the day progresses.
I have seen Morrisons, Tesco and Asda all delivering as normal through this weather. Its a joke!!”
“I have been to a few Sainsbury's stores and I have noticed that some prices for the same item were different.
Is this because of the location?
If so, I am very disappointed with Sainsbury's.”
“ordered my online shopping on monday 26th February for delivery on Wed 28th Feb.
This was just before the snow fell. My delivery was cancelled. I accepted this, and re-ordered for Friday 2nd march. The slot and delivery charge they gave me on that, was the most expensive, but one of the earliest. This was cancelled too. I couldn't understand it. Why would the first delivery be cancelled? I explained to Sainsbury that I was elderly and had next to no food in the house, but they treated this with a very cavalier attitude.
I also explained that I had seen three other large store vans in the area. "Iceland" was delivering next door," Ocado" I could see from my bedroom window was delivering four doors away, and my daughter told me that "Asda" had delivered that morning in an adjoining road.
When I mentioned this to the lady on the other end of the 'phone, she said and I quote "Maybe they have a different system to us" What different system?
An order and a delivery are one and the same arn't they! in any online company.
I have since left Sainsbury, and have registered with online grocery with one of the other Companies I saw delivering that snowy day.”
“Some product i purchased was in spoiled condition as there was a manufacturing fault. i returned the product and asked the Sainsbury's staff to do something about the rest of the stock as others will also suffer with the bad taste.. they asked me instead to raise a complaint giving a number and if i do that i won;t get my refund in the store and will have to wait for the complaint to be addressed and get a refund voucher. Question is then, why are you there if you can't contact the companies you keep stock of?”
“Terrible, tasteless finest meal; Who on earth comes up with the recipes? This was Beef stroganoff and apple crumble--- won't risk buying anything else, I don't often visit Sainsbury's as find them expensive-- I don't mind paying for quality-- but this was an expensive mistake!”
