SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. Within seconds, the individual or caregiver can take any necessary action. “I wanted to love this camera. I think the idea is fantastic. It just doesn't deliver Here are some things I wish I had known before purchasing this very expensive camera It confusing to set up the settings I still don't understand. You need an Apple product The app needs to be continuously open The camera and app do not work outside the wifi. I work at nights and would like to see the cameras. I still have to go through the evening of events to see if it missed anything”

We made SAMi highly customizable since there are a lot of different movement types people are trying to capture. This does mean it can take some time to hone in on the right settings. Yes, unfortunately, our founder built SAMi for his son and only knew how to code for Apple Products. We're hoping to launch an Android app in 2025 once we can bring on more engineering resources. 3. You can actually set up remote monitoring if you're using home wifi. Yes, you have to review videos to see if you missed anything but we have some features that make it easier for you to review videos that only include motion. You can have the camera record only if there is motion, and you can even adjust how much motion you want to have before it records to reduce the number of recordings. “When it works, it’s amazing! I need an IT degree to figure out the internet & router situation. Since I don’t have a degree in technology, this work about 40% of the time. Most of the time the iPad searches for the camera. If it doesn’t find it in a specific amount of time or if it loses the signal, it makes a crazy beeping sound- any time- day or night.”

“We acquired the SAMi3 system for our autistic & epileptic child in March 2023. The software for replaying the recorded videos (as part of the SAMi3 software package) is not stable, and hangs up periodically, requiring a reboot of the system. This continues happening even after updating the software per the advice of the SAMi3 team. Since it is a very expensive investment, we are reluctant to dump it, and continue suffering through the hiccups it keeps having.”
