SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. “This camera hands down is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at 14 months old. My world was turned upside down and I was so afraid to not be in the same room when she napped because that's when her seizures we're happening. Then we found the SAMi. It is truly worth every penny! This camera alerts us when there is possible seizure activity or when there is a lot of motion. In fact one night around 11pm the camera alerted us that my daughter was having a seizure and we were able to help her and also later show the neurologist the recording. Unfortunately she has several different types of seizures but everytime she has a seizure she is looking to the right so we know the seizure is starting from the left side of her brain. The picture quality is phenomenal you are able to zoom in and out and all the settings are easy to adjust to what you feel is necessary as far volume, and sensitivity. This camera has given us greater piece of mind when my daughter is sleeping in the crib. We have also traveled with this camera on overnight trips. It is straight forward and simple to set up. And I seriously can't imagine what I would do without this camera! I HIGHLY recommend this camera!!!!!”

“Wow, I don’t even know how to put into words how much I recommend and love this camera. My newly diagnosed daughter has been having many clonic tonic seizures over the last few months. After her first seizure in her sleep, all we did was cry, thinking how could any of us ever have another sound, peaceful sleep again!? I was so overwhelmed and scared, until someone recommended this camera to me. This has been the best purchase I’ve ever made, ever. We sleep! And I mean we sleep peacefully, knowing this camera will detect any clonic tonic seizure she has, which it has! It’s caught all of them, alarmed us and we were able to help our daughter immediately. I am so so grateful for this camera! Don't worry parents, caretakers and everyone else who is affected by these awful seizures, you will sleep again!! Peacefully! :)”

“The SAMi has been nothing short of a lifechanger for my wife and I. We've used monitor watches as well as having our son sleep in the same room as his siblings with the hope that they would be able to watch him in case of a seizure but it is the SAMi that has given us the best piece of mind at night. We highly recommend it for anyone who is in this same situation because it really is the best!”

“Our daughter had a tonic clonic at 19 months and shortly thereafter received an epilepsy diagnosis. For the next few weeks my husband and I slept next to her crib, hoping to catch a seizure. Only after speaking with the SAMi team (I couldn't believe how quickly they responded to my contact request) and purchasing one did our nights slowly get better. Luckily her medication appears to be working as her EEGs no longer show seizure activity. We kept the suggested alarm setting for the first six to seven months, which meant that we were alerted typically three to six times a night to simple movements. Following the most recent clear 24 hour EEG we felt confident to adjust the setting to alarm after 30 seconds, as she has been seizure free for eight months and we could still reach her quickly to administer medicine and provide support if a seizure occurs. That adjustment has brought us back to levels of sleep I didn't think possible after her diagnosis as we fully trust this medical device after seven and a half months of daily use and observation. Thank you for helping us to feel reassured that we will be alerted and able to help our daughter whenever needed for her epilepsy. We purchased the travel stand and dedicated router (no need to rely on family or hotel wifi), which allows us to smoothly bring our setup with us when we travel, allowing our family to continue in many of our normal patterns.”

“We absolutely love SAMi. Our child has mostly facial seizures which are hard to be alerted for. This monitor is adjustable to sensitivity and has an alarm. This company puts their heart and soul into this monitor that is great to have when managing epilepsy.”

“Sami camera has been great so far. I love that whenever there is movement, it records. However, the alarm constantly goes off with little movement. Yes, I understand I am able to change the settings & sensitivity but if I do that, it won’t record when I need it to. I have to say, I have realized my son doesn’t get much sleep at night as he is constantly moving around. The picture is decent even during the night.”

HI Danielle, If you are simply trying to record certain movements but not alert to them, you can adjust the Record Threshold to be lower than the Motion Threshold. This will create recordings when a more subtle movement is detected but will be different than they amount of motion required to trigger an alarm. To adjust the Record Threshold, go to Settings -> Camera Settings -> Record Threshold and reduce it to ~12% or as low as it will let you. There is a certain point where it won't go lower because the camera is so sensitive, it would just end up recording anything anyway. “I wanted to love this camera. I think the idea is fantastic. It just doesn't deliver Here are some things I wish I had known before purchasing this very expensive camera It confusing to set up the settings I still don't understand. You need an Apple product The app needs to be continuously open The camera and app do not work outside the wifi. I work at nights and would like to see the cameras. I still have to go through the evening of events to see if it missed anything”

We made SAMi highly customizable since there are a lot of different movement types people are trying to capture. This does mean it can take some time to hone in on the right settings. Yes, unfortunately, our founder built SAMi for his son and only knew how to code for Apple Products. We're hoping to launch an Android app in 2025 once we can bring on more engineering resources. 3. You can actually set up remote monitoring if you're using home wifi. Yes, you have to review videos to see if you missed anything but we have some features that make it easier for you to review videos that only include motion. “This product can definitely save someone's life. If your child suffers from seizures don't think about it twice this product will be the best money spent. Before Sami I would wake up constantly to check on my child to make sure my child was breathing and not having a seizure. Thanks to Sami I am able to sleep at night and only wake up when the Sami alarm goes off because it has detected movement. I Highly recommend the Sami camera. Also, my shipping was super fast! “This has given us back some normalcy into our lives again. Having this camera allows our son to sleep in his room (he slept in our room for 2 months after his last seizure). I forgot to mention he is 26 years old with Cerebral palsy, epilepsy and level 3 Autism. This allows me to get some restful sleep knowing we will be notified of any seizure activity. We paid out of picket for this camera and would happily do it again 10x over.”
