“Bad service, bad communication bad customer service. You are on the line for more than 1hour,emails you send they don't even care to reply. I was retrenched in April and 5 months after that still waiting for my money. All the agents I spoke to the past months are all lying they think that I am a fool. I will never ever advice family members, friend or collegues to invest at sanlam. You are disgusted, poor and unproffesional. My husband is at Old mutual and never had any problems. It was smooth sailing for him from his retirement until today. After 6 escalations made on my claim to finalize my claim nothing happen. Today my car was repossess by the bank and who is gonna take the blame for that now. SANLAM YOU ARE THE WORST COMPANY TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE MONEY.”

The trust department earn a lot of money from the beneficiaries to manage the funds. But it is managed poorly, with no communication. Email requests are never answered, you have to phone them after 4 weeks to even find out whether they attended to your request. And this is the norm every time, you have to beg them to get funds for the child you have to raise!!!!”

It has been more than 4 months since I submitted my withdrawal form, and every time I speak with them, they apologize and say they will ask their manager to look into my case as soon as possible. “Absolutely the most failed Company, fails their clients, my diseased ex husbands anuity policy is still not paid out after 5 months of filling documents for the claim now Sanlam wants to tax two amounts which is under 500k for the claims which is unlawful ! In the meantime my kids do not have any support because of Sanlam failing to pay the Claim, Sanlam should be embaressed Please do not use Sanlam for any policies ! You dont get your money they should be ashamed !!!!”

Computer put you on hold, no agents to attend to you, how is this possible.
Called various days, maybe 7, on hold for 10 mins at a time, end calls due to my airtime bring used.
Cleint for 35 years, Sanlam is worse than ever concerning their cleint concerns.
Worse to say, if they want to market or sell products, they are very sufficient in "harassing" their clients.

“If you consider a life policy from SANLAM please read the following BEFORE signing the policy documents. I took out a life policy in 1992 (which the agent said it is the BEST on the market and only available from SANLAM) with a monthly instalment of R60.61. A few years back I out lived the policy and my monthly instalments were increased every year to the monthly instalment of R531.10 at present. I am a pensioner and cannot afford this premium every month, so I had to cancel the policy. After an admin fee was deducted I was told that I would get R31 327.90 out. Only R30 820.98 was paid into my bank account and upon enquiry, I was told that the rate of exchange was lower so my payout is lesser. Had I submitted my forms 3 days earlier, the payout would be R31 327.90 as quoted. My loss is thus R531.10 plus R 506.12 equals R 1 037.22 which is a lot of money for a pensioner. My concern is as follows:
1. NEVER was I told that there is a possibility of me out living my policy
2. NEVER was I told the premium would increase and the value reduced in the case of me out living the policy
3. NEVER was I told that I must submit the forms the same day as requested to prevent my refund to be reduced
4. NEVER was I told that this policy is linked to exchange rates
To me, this is daylight robbery and the most dishonest way to treat people especially when SANLAM knows that it is the old aged that would be robbed, years after they started paying their hard earned money and leave them with nothing on their old age.
There is one aspect that SANLAM is very honest about and that is their logo with the two hands and a dot in the middle. The dot is me and they squeeze everything out of me for their own benefit. So, think twice if you are planning a long life, SANLAM will hunt you down, if you have a life policy, BE CAREFUL AND THINK TWICE.”

“Zero start review regarding Atomos that is now part of Sanlam regarding recruitment process. Don't just the staff they lie.
I've been dealing with a Catherine Baker that I was meant to have a pre-screen for a administration role however it was a chat. She was trying to break employment laws by doing this. The Equality Act 201O, GDPR before that Data Protection Act. This company is regulated by the FCA. The behaviour from her not that I feel it was belittling, condersending behaviour to myself especially ad I've been in Financial Services since 2003. Hold professional qualification's. The questions included what I was looking for in a manager that was inappropriate . My excel experience especially as the advert stated about Vlookup. Head of HR Heath Buck there is Paul Cadman above him that I was unable to make a complaint about her on LinkedIn. Again don't trust this company and the staff.”
“Please do not take dread disease cover at Sanlam. Apparently being diagnosed with breast cancer that is so aggressive that a mastectomy had to be done asap, are not considered to be a qualifying event for them. The fact that you will be on cancer treatment for months after the surgery also is not considered to be a qualifying event. They just simply decline your claim stating that you do not meet the criteria. So please do not fall for the "we will take care of you during difficult times" stories. Save some money anywhere els for a rainy day instead of paying them a monthly contribution.”
