“I have rented numerous scooters for cruises and vacations. Everything has always been great up to the last rental on our Alaskan cruise. The scooter was not in the best shape. It did work fine, but in shabby condition. Also, there was an added charge for getting in one cruise port, and leaving in another. These stay onboard, so I don't agree with the extra charge. Overall, satisfied.”
“I was disappointed with the wheelchair. We were given a different chair than we ordered. My daughter needed the leg supports and the chair we got didn’t have it. When I brought it to the desks attention I was told “that’s the ones they have”.”
“I had a bad experience on the last cruise. Ended up putting me in alot of pain and costing me $500.00. I paid alot of money for the scooter for each day but when I arrived on the ship, we were locked out of rooms. They were cleaning and the scooter was in my room. It took an hour and speaking with 5 different people who all had different answers,to get the scooter brought out of the room for me. My travel companion had to go get it all while been told she couldn't by multiple employees on ship. I could only sit on a couch in a roped off section by ship entrance and be told I cant sit there constantly by staff. Then the evening before we arrived at nassau, I asked for the person who handled scooters on the ship to come show me how to fold it, in case we needed to take a cab while in port. He came and took it apart but didnt get it folded and then it wouldnt work at all. So he said he would fix up it while we were gone in port. I cant walk but a few feet and cant stand. I had to walk all the way down the pier while my companion pretty much held me up, we jumped in first cab we could get because we didnt have my scooter in port. And I cant stand long either. So we had to travel around nassau by car and got shocked with a 500.00 bill for a few hours driving us to locations. Then I had to walk back down that long pier to get back on ship. So I paid for a product I couldn't use, lost vacation time while ship staff pretended to know how to fold, and try to repair the scooter. I paid $500 for cab and then suffered the rest of the cruise in excruciating pain from walking down pier. So not very pleased with last trip. Others have been fine but this INCIDENT ruined my trip.”
“vegas rental went great
2 of the last 3 charlotte autofair rentals i was given units not fully charged made it back with one to exchange other one speedway people had to help me get it back then was told they did not have a replacement after explaining to them i have enpluzema and had to have a unit to continue my stay they finally checked the infied spot and got me one.
at a event like this you would think they would be better prepared with back up batteries”
“My scooter was a very noisy sound when moving but it got the job done. I will be renting another scooter for the month of October for another cruise.”
“The first scooter was not very clean. It had a cracked glass in the spread control the second day it was making a loud strange noise when on a tile surface. I turned it in .I was very lucky they had a spare one to use. I was very dirty but ran well.”
“I expected to get a machine in perfect condition. I did not. The scooter edged toward the right somewhat. Every time you took key out of ignition the whole piece would come with the key. There was a couple other things but I can’t remember them. It’s very expensive to rent a scooter and have it give you a hard time. I’m not sure I would rent from Scoot Around again. - Cathleen McSorley”
“I live in Chicago and I like my scooter delivered to suburban hotels for weekend conventions and usually I’m made to pay extra for delivery and pick up. Also I believe that there should be a larger discount on repeat customers. I’ve been using and recommending this company for over 8 years. It’s a great convenience but the price is becoming inconvenient 😕”
“I have used Scootaround before and always found it reliable. This time though, the driver made the delivery almost 2 hours late. That was 2 hours gone from my vacation.”
“After the scooter was delivered properly, I received a phone call calling me John, stating that my daughter Loni had called stating the key was missing, and that I was in Anaheim. That was a comedy of errors. My name is not John, I do not have a daughter Loni, the key was in the scooter and I was in Las Vegas, not Anaheim.
The phone call was somewhat amusing. My first name has double "n"s. Please correct in your files.”
“The first time I called I was told that there was no one in the area to rent a scooter to me. I thought it was strange and called a second time, this time I was able to lease a scooter. Strange!
Great customer service the second time.”
“The scooter was very good to have and they helped me a lot on board the ship but the thing is that no one was there to teach me how to ride it or the instruct me on how to use it.”
“The first time we used Scootaround, everything went fantastic! The 2nd time, there was an issue with the battery and the charge would run out after approximately 30 minutes of use. We notified personnel while on ship and nothing was done. We also made sure to notify someone as soon as we got off ship and were told 'sorry' and that was it. My disabled brother, who used the wheelchair, had an awful vacation because he was so severely limited on being able to get around. Very discouraging”
