Bullying by SP agents over the years conning us into entering our property in SP clothing even though you are well aware smart meters would not work in our property due to building structure, but, your agents kept harassing us. SP denied it was them but paid compensation. Keeping hold of credit and increasing DD. Making refunds difficult. Extremely rude customer representatives. Problems with your systems (or so you say) System does not update for days even though rivals have superior systems that are instantaneous with updates of balance, DD payments and refunds without hassle. Online chat described as award winning but you still have to either be transferred to someone else usually within 5 days. Last but not least, a very poor rating on many more social media platforms.

DO NOT USE. They keep your credit and increase the DD. Over £1,214:00 in credit and lie over the refund since 30 October 2023. Customer service is appalling, even live chat which does nothing but pass it on and still nothing gets done. OCTOPUS is our next step and they are even offering g a £50:00 credit. I absolute hate this company for their arrogance, lies and deceit. Obtaining money by deception is a criminal offence. I bet if I owed them £1,214:00 they would have bailiffs on us.

Be aware if you want a quote, they will ask you for a credit check and when you realise you have signed a contract with them. They're making it very difficult to cancel. I called 0800400200 to cancel and the lady was rude, sarcastic, very unprofessional, it seemed like she was in a pub with all the noise and laughing. I couldn't hear anything, the call was always failing and I had full signal. I felt disrespected! I had to send a cancellation form by post. I will NEVER have a contract with them! The way they try to get new costumers is a complete SCAM and the costumer's service is a complete joke, disrespectful.

By far the worst energy company I have ever had to deal with. We incurred a debt with them because it was impossible to contact them to set up our account. They have bullied and forced us onto a direct debit under duress

I've been a customer for a few years however, upon opening my inbox this morning I was faced with 8 emails demanding thousands of £££s. For over a year I’ve provided monthly meter readings and paid immediately. The bill today said our bill had been estimated and so I called customer services. 5 calls later and staff continuing to insist the bill was correct! They were rude and not prepared to use their brains to see the bill was incorrect. In tears I went through all the photos of my meter reading and compared them to the bill and low behold the meter numbers on the bill were impossibly wrong! I immediately got back to them with the details of their mistake and they finally took the huge sum off the bill! I’m worried that other customers, elderly, vulnerable or with no photo record would have been forced to pay for energy they’ve not used. Conveniently the complaints form on their site isn’t working and there is no complaint department or email address. This goes against Ofgem guidlines. I'm writing to bring this to the attention of other customers as I worry some people are being scammed. People could be actually not turning on their heating because they can’t pay!!!

My score is zero 0 same complaint for 12 months now they are an absolute nightmare. Over 25calls not counting the dozens of time the call drops out. Disgusting never do what they say or agree never call back when agreed. Still waiting for a RESULT!!!! 🤢

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - This is a shocking way to treat any business. You try and get a new business connected MPAN 1800014782132 who have just moved into the property and they tell you to email smereconnections but you cant talk with anyone and they dont reply to emails. Shocking just shocking i have waiting over a month for reply and noting and when you do try to call them its pass you to 7 persons before they just tell you to email again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

If I could give 0 stars I would, rang Scottish power in July to see about changing to them. Asked 3 different people if I could get new smart meters and an in home energy monitor, all 3 said I would and would be within 2 weeks of going live, since then I have had a barrage of lies, the customer service is completely non existent, I have requested call backs, these never happen, raised a complaint, no one updates you, been hung up on more times than enough, been lied to so many times it’s beyond a joke, had apparently 2 appointments booked for engineer to visit, waited in, no one tuned up called Scottish power to be told the job hadn’t even been sent to the contractor, here it is almost 15 weeks later and I still don’t have a resolution or a meter fitted, just also spelt o someone in the complaints team to request a manger call back and she hung up on me after waiting in another 4 hours for no one to turn up, avoid like the plague, these people are completely useless

Any chance we can have a minus star rating. Worse company going,had to get ombudsman involved, thought we'd solved the problem,no chance, I've had to contact ombudsman again as you can't get any sense out of Scottish Power, I've even tried emailing their CEO but a month later I'm still waiting for him to reply. I don't owe very much and can't wait to pay it off so that I can change supplier.

Thank you for your very prompt response and action today. My elderly father lives alone in Dorset and lost power due to the extreme weather conditions we are experiencing 2/11/2023 . You clearly prioritised him due to his age and vulnerability and identified and located his issue. He now has power . Can’t thank you enough 👍

Avoid Avoid Avoid. I stupidly switched Gas to them from British Gas but when I found out days later what their standard tariffs were for my pay as you go meter, I changed my mind. They don't change meters! They won't let me go even though I cancelled within the cooling off period. I've been maintaining my payments with British Gas to this day now. Their staff at Scottish Power are dumb. Can't resolve anything. Just pass the bucket. I give up. They kept me on the same payment for 19 months DD for electricity. So I believe I've been ripped off. Changed my electricity to British Gas so BG supply both now. Their reps have a clue, oh my days, the differences in intelligence..... Just waiting for the ombudsman as my complaints fall on deaf ears Scottish Power will try to put any price on a debt. I left a previous house I was paying regular amounts for, they said I owed them £2000. How? The amount of people going back to British Gas....

Not solved meter problem, for over a year. No Smart meter possible, as no signal, but they won't provide a booster. Billing incorrect for over a year and they are retaining 3K of my money. Terrible company.

I really have a problem with the Scottish Powers Direct Debit controls. They provide no control for the consumer, just for the company to hold more of your money. SP are holding over £1,600 of my money 'in credit' and my monthly payments are £211. But try and reduce the monthly payment by £30 per month and they ask for a one of payment of over £350 ie 12 x the monthly reduction I would like to make. Its dishonest and disgraceful. Please think very carefully about signing up with Scottish Power.

Useless customer services they said they sorted my monthly payments out they didn't I had to ring 6 times to sort it out they are the worst company ever They are rude I wished I never left British gas at least they were understanding and knew what issue's I had solved them Do not recommend this company scottish power going to change as soon as I get clear with them I had to repeat my postcode 6 times before they understood god help others keep away from this company

Nightmare of a company! Bills are confusing and don't make any sense. There customer service team do not even understand the bills and don't answer the phone. Glad to see the back of them. DO NOT USE!!!!

Trying to get someone unanswered the phone without listening to 50 options is a miracle. Since installing the smart meter I'm not in debt! Got to leave this ridiculous company.
