“Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 trips with Senior Discovery Tours.
Itinerary was well planned and accommodating to my travel needs.
Meals were delicious and more than generous.
Accomadations were very comfy.
Buses were also comfy. Bus drivers very good, no close calls..
Tour guides were exceptional, well informed, considerate, full of interesting tid bits everywhere we went. And treats along the way were a delightful surprise.
Looking forward to my next trip wherever it may be.”
“We have done one trip so far with Senior Duscovery Tours and it was to Iceland. It was a great trip and the accommodations surpasses our expectations. The tours and opportunities to explore were everything we wanted. Unfortunately our recent planned trip was cancelled due to COVID-19. We look forward to doing it as soon as possible.”
“Our tour to Costa Blanca was very enjoyable until it was short-circuited by the Pandemic.
We greatly appreciate the fact that we were not billed for changing our return flight and would like to mention that our tour guide Susan Seltzer was great. She was like a mother hen caring for her brood. On the days without side trips she had something local planned and on the days we traveled something was organized for later.
It was very helpful to receive the insurance claim all prepared for a signature and a stamp. You deserve a big thank you for that.
We received checks from Manulife last week.
The hotel room and amenities and food were fine.
In closing I will say that in my opinion, it would be very difficult to find a better tour guide than our Susan Seltzer.
Regards,
Paul and Charlyne Carrier”
“I loved all tours taken altho Calabria (Dec 2017) was a disappointment, The hotel staff & food were fantastic but the hotel was dead. Southern Italy at Christmas is dead. Unfortunately as a group we did not jell and the Tour Manager could have been better.”
“Unfortunately, my first tour with you to Malaga of March 16 2020 was cancelled due to Coved19. Alexandra's assistance was excellent. I am looking forward to take the tour next year.”
“My husband and I have been on 2 SDT tours. The first was Hilltop towns of Italy. The tour guide was excellent, and tour destinations very good. Accommodation and food were not so good. Timing was poor - major Italian holiday period - crowds were huge, particularly Florence , Venice and Rome. Stay in Rome was very poorly organized.
We decided to give SDT another try and took another tour in Feb 2020 to Costa del Sol, Spain. It was great, top marks. Tours, accommodation and guide (Barbara Barde) were excellent. We did notice that Barbara provided much more service to her group than other SDT guides staying at same location. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was superior.
If/When safe to travel again we will again look at SDT packages.”
“Although our trip was aborted due to Jacob's norovirus, I must say that all arrangements by senior discovery Tours were first class, both as we began our trip and afterwards. (Princess Line also performed well.)
I'm so sorry that you have been so hard hit by this dreadful pandemic; if things return to normal we'd love to travel with you again.”
“I loved that everything was included in the final price. Having gone on other tours, you always had to come up with money for the local guide, and then at the end to our tour director. It was also nice to meet as a group at the airport and travel together as a group. This made me very comfortable as I am not an experienced traveller. Prices seemed to be good deals when comparing to other travel companies. Enjoyed my experience with Senior Discovery Tours.”
“There are three tours I have been on. Loved New Zealand. We were lucky and got across the South Island before the storm washed out the bridge and the trains were halted. Enjoyed every minute. Was slightly disappointed that we did not see the giant Kauri Tree, and that there wasn't enough time to walk under the trees. Also would have loved the final train ride before taking the ferry to the North Island. Instead we flew.
Our (husband and I) trip to the Maritimes was great. The weather in PEI was beyond your control. Loved the poor man's dinner with all the dressing up, the lobster/seafood dinner and folk dancing. Also loved pier 21 - a picture of my ship was on the wall - Titanic graveyard and Bell museum.
Trip to Scottsdale over Christmas did not work out as well. Our own trip to Taliesin and evening trip to Desert Garden were great, as was the Musical Instrument Museum. The Heard Museum was excellent - just sorry we didn't have NEARLY enough time - and it was a special day with native dancing and celebrations as well. I'd give up a restaurant any time for that. Trips to Grand Canyon, Verde Railway and Boat trip were all good! But who needs to spend a whole day at the Mesa market? Or who needs a happy hour every day even when we are not having supper together?
All tour managers were good and tried hard.
Now I am looking for a new trip to New Zealand to see all the things I missed - Stewart Island? Small Group?
And I was just short of signing up for the trip to Nepal and Bhutan - hope we can go soon together!
Ellen Dennig
Probably left things out - both positive and negative.
Hoping for safe travelling soon!!”
“One of the things I really liked about Senior Discovery Tours was being totally looked after. Once the booking was made, every detail was looked after. Being picked up at our front door and being brought back to our front door. All the tipping was looked after. The only money required after booking was for anything we might like to purchase while away and the occasional meal not included on the tour. Tour guides and Senior Discover Tour personnel were always there to make our experience the best possible.”
