“Gotta be honest, I was a bit disappointed. The screws were way, way too long and couldn't be replaced with shorter ones of the same type. The screws that fix the rail to the fixings were silver, whereas all the rest of the fixings were copper. The rail was a little bent (Although not so much as when fixed to the wall, it straightened up) There was no centre hole predrilled at the ends to fix the end caps. I know it was walnut, but for nearly £300 I did kinda expect it to be perfect.”

Hi Craig, Thank you for your review. The screws to that fix to the wall have to be of a substantial length to meet the loadings, they do work with the plugs and look good when done. You shouldn't of had any stainless screws at all. We can get some sent out if that helps? In regards to the timber it is a natural product and although we only well the highest grade timber it can bow after being cut our end. Again we can replace this for you if needs be. We don't add the end caps as alot of carpenters who use us like to cut the rails on site. If you are struggling to align it centrally a rubber mallet can be used to square it up. “I did a lot of research before ordering the product. I have found their prices very competitive and the handrail itself entirely satisfactory and attractive to look at. There was a problem with notification of despatch and delivery which I have been assured was not the fault of the company. They have addressed that problem, and they have been excellent in communicating with me, so I am very happy to recommend their goods and service.”

Hi Jane Thank you for your review. The handrail was ordered on 25th February (Saturday) a delivered to you on the Tuesday. All tracking information and dispatch email was sent to you. I am sorry we have let you down but in this instance we feel we haven’t done anything wrong? With tracking and dispatch emails sent and no emails or correspondence from yourself asking to change the delivery we could not of done anything different. Simplehandrails.co.uk

“The handrail and hardware are pretty much as the website photographs. The hardware is the best bit. I was expecting to see the rails oiled but they don't appear to be. When checking the invoice and the order the finish isn't listed so maybe that was my fault. The quality of the cut on the rails isn't brilliant hence three stars. It looks like the saw has been forced through tearing the grain on the saw exit about 2-3mm. Too much hassle to return and then wait for replacements. Will just need to rub down and put on the underside out of sight.”

“Simple to order, delivered on time and a nice piece of kit. One tiny little niggle. The plastic end cap of the packaging became slightly dislodged in transit resulting in a tiny chip on one end piece. Nothing I can't touch up. Still happy with 5 stars.”
