“Delivery was really quick, the Handrail was really hard work to screw into, we pre drilled the holes but the wood was ridiculously tough, the screws that they sent with it just bared and we're less than useless. For over £200 for a long length of wood and 4 hinges i did expect the option of having the holes predrilled and making this a much easier item to install, took us a lot longer to install than our last one which was a similar product.”

Hi Claire, Thank you for your review. All our handrails are solid timber and this is the difference between us and competitors. The drilling of the oak/ walnut is fairly straightforward but obviously with the rails being solid it does make the task a little harder. The screws are stainless steel to match the brackets and they are softer then standard mild steel screws. We do sell 100s of these rails with very few problems so I am sorry you feel this way about the product. If you do need any more screws or further help we will gladly assist you. “Very pleased with the quality of the handrail. Customer service was excellent with prompt delivery as promised on website. One small moan, there were a couple of screws missing, and the wall plugs supplied are not long enough for the screws.”

“Very happy with the materials, brackets, pole etc. it would help home assembly to have a centerline scribed along the pole to assist central positioning of the brackets, also on the pole ends to assist centralising the domed stainless steel end caps.”

“Needed a handrail for Christmas. Online chat with someone from the shop. They said the product was in stock and to order and they would make sure it was picked and sent for delivery ASAP. This was in the evening. Two days later the hand rail turned up in pristine condition, very well wrapped with all the bits. There was even screws and plugs included. The oak handrail is spotless, no knots, splits, twists. Looks great now fitted. I did think the 40x40mm would be too small but the size is perfect. Brilliant company to deal with. Highly recommend.”

“Knowledgeable, efficient, great product range and prepared to manufacture to whatever design you should so wish. The handrails are nicely made, sturdy and with good fixings, the ballustrades are really nicely made and look the part. I wish I had not had wooden posts fitted to the patio to fix the panels too and instead gone with the stainless posts too, but that is my bad. Simple Handrails is my goto place for handrails and glass.”

“Excellent quality Oak, fixtures and fittings. The only difficult bit was finding the centres of the rails to drill and fit the end caps. I would have prefered the oak to have been lighter.”
