The briggs and stratton motor won't run correctly right out of the box. Called for help, sent pic as they asked. Haven't heard back from them. Frustrating.

After our tech and shop looked over your case and photos our tech did call you, however you had already taken the engine to an authorized Briggs and Stratton dealer in your area. I apologize that we weren't as quick as you had hoped in getting back to you. Your initial call came in on 3/31 and we received the photos on 4/1 and our tech called you on 4/3. Again, I am sorry that the process took a little longer than anticipated. Please feel free to follow up with us to ensure your concerns are addressed. The Small Engine Warehouse staff are very helpfull and knowledge able. However the engine I purchased for my wood splitter (Briggs and Staton appears to be a piecee of junk. It's got the no choke built in and it starts very hard. it seems the colder the outdoor temp the more I have to pull the cord to start it. There are many times I pull more than 20x to get it started and after this and it doesn't start I give up. The technition it seems is very busy and has not had a chance to get ahold of me to see if there is anything I can do to remedy the situation.Returning the engine may be my only option.

Not empressed. When we are replacing an American engine with American bolts you don’t want to be stoped by American bolts not fitting. This has been a huge pain in the rear. Also all metric bolts and nuts have been taken off the shelves. Beware no metric in Texas. Wasn’t planing on that one .

The PROS and CONS of my new engine: PROS: Small Engine Warehouse (SEW) delivered the new Briggs and Stratton 44T977-0035 engine so fast that it was shipped here in 3 days! The sale was pretty smooth. The prices were very affordable. The new engine also has plenty of power to cut my lawn. CONS: Better support on components could be mentioned on the SEW website as to what each engine could need to replace another engine. A better representation of wiring diagrams would also be helpful as this took an enormous amount of time and research to find out what wiring went where. I had to create my own wiring diagram to understand fully as a DIY guy to how to get the engine running properly. Greater emphasis on getting the correct shaft length would also be very helpful for DIY. My previous Kohler Command had a built-in solenoid, but I had to guess on my own that the B&S engine needed a separate 3-post solenoid. Nothing in their documentation mentions this or on the SEW website. Lastly, the Kohler Command manual of 20 years ago is complete and extremely helpful. The manual for the B&S is useless regarding any practical or useful info. After finally getting the engine at starting point, the engine, however, has been hard to start (it only has 6 hours on the motor). It does not crank quickly for some reason. I purchased a new battery). I have had to start by spraying starting-fluid in the carb to get it started. Today that worked but then the engine cut out a few hundred feet from my home and would not restart even with more starting fluid. My gas is fairly fresh and the choke fully works. Is the new fuel pump defective? The oil is level. What gives??

I felt scammed by the price. I was told my purchase qualified for free shipping and received a bill for one hundred dollars higher than was quoted on the price of the engine but received free shipping. Dustin said the quoted price was not the price with free shipping. If I wanted the quoted price he would have to charge shipping. I was like HUH????

I purchased a new's 17.5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine for my lawn mower, the biggest complaint I have there was no instructions on the wiring diagram for the engine and no manual for this particular engine, as I do not have a printer I have no way of printing a manual, so it would be very helpful and appreciated if you would print out or send me original copy of the manual so I can use this for future information. I now have this enigen for a couple weeks, and each time I try to start it when the engine is cold, I must remove the air filter cap and spray starting fluid on the air filter and then the engine will start fine. I need somebody from your company to call me to explain what the problem is with the engine, because this is not normal. I should not have to spray starting fluid on the filter every time I want to start the engine and cut my lawn Thank you Jim H.

The price was good and I'm happy about that. However, the engine purchase was marked as "in stock" on the website but wasn't. There were no updates from the company voluntarily given. It took my calling or emailing to find out what was going on and how long it might be until the engine was in stock.

engine damaged in shipping broken oil stick cover broken person who installed new engine called oil spraying when he started it up replaced valve cover from old engine i have a case number 386668 your customer service has been great I have already paid for new engine to be installed i do not want a replacement hopefully reimbursed for Extra expense Thank you Bob Brashear

Engine arrived damaged. Instead of replacement made me wait on repair parts then had to repair damaged engine.

i got the motor with in 3 days of shipping and i have the bolts holding it on my simplicity mower and i have the muffler ordered its due in today or saturday and cant do anything untill i get the adapter to be able to wire it up so i cant use any of it yet its taking a lot longer then i expected it to take to get it running i wont set it up untill i get all the parts in. i have a yard thats getting higher and higher my yard needs to be cut and the company i mowe their yard to and they are getting ansy about the yard so i cant rate this yet i need the parts asap and the adapter is holding this up. yes i got the motor a lot quicker then i expected to get it but i cant do any thing else because waiting on the parts so i can set it up and get it running

Well. The first part of the order was fine. But I told Scott that I was going out to hopefully get him the right model number off the second motor I needed parts for. When I called back in just less than 10 minutes. He was gone to lunch which was fine and I left my phone number with the lady that answered and told her to have him call me that I thought that I had the right numbers for him. That I was wanting to add to the order that I had just gave him to save on shipping. He never called so I left a message on a different persons phone message and they never called me back. Not sure what happened but I am disappointed in the service I got

Rob in sales was great. Engine delivery was 5 days past promised delivery date, and nobody contacted me. I had to do calls and tracking to find anything out. Then, the ‘plug n play’ JD 90 retrofit instructions were done by some kid with a camera. The wiring instructions were vague at best. After calling tech assistance, after 2 days I figured out the instructions Deficiencies and got it going. Engine seems good. Support poor!!!!

I would like to say something positive, but can't after going on your website and ordering the wrong motor because of your website was not being helpful. I will say the wrong engine was delivered in pristine condition. Now I have spent way over my budget with shipping charges I shouldn't have had to pay. Lesson learned…….. I guess.

I would have given a 5 star but their shipping method has a lot to be desired. My engine wasn’t very well protected against damage and the plastic housing was cracked in two places. A wooden crate would probably solve that issue. The sales team was very knowledgeable and the engine arrived in two days from order.

I ordered a muffler and receivied it in an acceptable time. A week later a called parts wanting to know pricing on some other engine parts. An automated service took my phone number but no one has called me back. I got my information else where.
