“I am just a cashier who is a senior. I’ve been smart serve for about 9 years and now with these new regulations that we have to go through a whole program and you fail, you can sell or touch whatever. I am 70 and just wanted a no stress job as a cashier and it looks like I won’t in the near future.. a lot of course I feel does not pertain to me just being a cashier. You should have a separate part for grocery cashier type. Smart serve is good if you have your own business etc .”
“Got 3 question wrong on my first try before I do the 2nd attempt I did look back on the module for all the mistake I had on the first one so if ever I get the same question again I know what the right answer will be but surprisingly I did got the same 3 question and despite the fact that I adjust my answer accordingly it still give me a wrong answer. I also have a few colleagues of mine who did this test on the same week I did we we're talking about some of the question on the test which is funny enough one of my co-worker has the same answer on multiple choice the way I did on the same question yet she got those answer right while mine was wrong. Clearly this whole test is program and no matter what you know chances are it will take you 2-3 tries before you can pass but surely there will be a few who will pass on one take only due to the fact that this is ONLINE it's program in order to show that so long a few pass on a single try surely does it's not a ripped off scam!”
“2 weeks ago I tried to register and sign in to no avail. Keeps asking to verify if your a robot......out of frustration I called and complained about this. TODAY, I found time again to go in and complete but AGAIN, that robot "choose the squares game" will NOT allow you past, soooo stupid! you verify yet it crashes you over and again. Called again today, and was told they are aware this has been an issue, so, FIX IT AND STOP FRUSTRATING THE USERS. They want us to clear our cachee etc... Like I don't already know that, issue is at THEIR end NOT mine. Wish this was offered "in class" but not in Sudbury but NO. Have no idea how to get certified. I took the time to write this review and I RARELY write them but surely I am not alone hear. So much for a friendly online course, brutal”
“Got 79% when I know clearly I passed over 80%, theyre lying saying I got a few of the questions wrong when I know exactly that those questions are actually right, I literally also googled them and it ended up the answers I put in were right, but yet smartserve says it's "wrong"”
“This is such a money grabbing scam. Scored 79% on both attempts and said I have PAY the whole course all over again. And it doesn't even last a lifetime. You would have to pay another fee in 5 years just to renew your license. Definitely a scam.”
“Had to relaunch the test at least 6 times. Causing me to rush, so it would not happen again!!! Did 2 tests back to back, making corrections based on first test results! Got same mark! 79% !?

“The Recertification of the smart serve is totally a money grab, over a million Canadians required a re certification ? all of the sudden !! I did my online recertification and i failed because of the tricky questions !! give me a break money grab that's all it is .i think a lot of smart serve applicants going to agree with me ,i have done more difficult training none of the BS with this training was encountered. “I'm giving a bad rating because I got an unfair score. My first quiz attempt was 66% because of technical issues with the webcam I later took the second quiz and it was 57% Later the Smart Serve proctor system emailed me (Integrity Advocate) saying my government ID was incorrect Meet the requirements so sentenced me to violate the rules. Let's say I submitted the correct ID but self-qualified due to a problem with my computer or laptop webcam. But due to resolution issues, I seriously suspect that something went wrong with multiple exams, and it was in the proctor system.”

“Its a scam!! I literally got scored 78% my first two test and had to rebuy the course and then magically I score a 93% on the first test??? Like I didnt even pay attention when I was going through the second course because I already knew everything. So why did I score a 78% both times at first and now ife payed $90 for a pdf smart serve. In all honesty the pdf looks fake even….”
“The layout is subpar at best and runs as if it was made for a website in the early 2000's. Many of the already awkward and clumsily designed activities failed to load properly without multiple re-loads of the content.
The course itself is also a confusing mess. The inconsistent and frustratingly poor organization of the module/chapter type layout makes effective studying of the material nearly impossible. Searching for specific terms or topics within the course material is made extremely difficult by the vaguely named modules and the inability to properly search through the material as a whole only adds to the confusing nature of the course. This is also not disregarding the final test, which only serves to exacerbate these complaints due to its rigidity in tandem with its poorly designed and wholly inaccessible content.
If it is not designed specifically to be difficult in order to force multiple attempts (and thus multiple purchases), it would seem that it is also not concerned with sufficiently educating those who wish to properly serve alcohol in a safe and legal capacity.”
Hello, outside of ensuring that you are aware of the law and your responsibility when you serve/deliver someone alcohol. Your certification is not job-specific. “I was about to do my final test when the whole training page disappeared and they said there was a scheduled maintenance when there were no notices on the website or even an email letting us know. There's no info on when the site will be up again either. You'd think they'd at least send a notice with how much they charge”
“Terrible..... the thing is that i don't understand really good some words and the option for other language was Korean and Mandarin and Chinese and no Greek ... so i am going to take the test more than 2 times ..... and they give you only 2 times for the final test ..... so now i have to pay again and start from 1st question.... that sucks ..... its all about the money ....”
