This organisation should now reinvent themselves with a name change.. I understand they named themselves as spec..savers I cannot see the savings £35 for an eye test is not saving.. this is quite typical a business starts by creating value and when expand to succès reality is lost a d greed sets in Their prices are a rip off they do not demonstrate care for customers to save in particular at this terrible time where many people are struggling financially I urge all to use small independent opticians at the very least the public can create value by supporting a small business who is probably owned by one or two people who also have a family to support and for the greedy to get in touch with reality demonstrating gratitude and not to rip people off

I wanted to demonstrate my disappointment with the store. I did a eye test for contact lenses. I bought my lenses, the same that I have used for years at another store (which is my right), so I put them on I couldn't see 100% well. I went back to the store and explained the situation but nothing was done, I would have to pay another test. If my degree was verified wrong why should I pay another test. Fast service without giving due attention to the customer. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Used to be great value and good service, now just I just get a good examination and then pushed into spending as much a possible on glasses. I won’t be using them again. Much cheaper elsewhere. If you have an examination there just pay for it and get your glasses elsewhere

Be very careful when your taking a vulnerable person or a carer of a person who has mental health issues as the staff at biggleswade branch have a great way of trying to hard sell products that they don't need I see this happen once while waiting for an eye test to an ederley lady and the person who I took also had the same thing happen to her and became very distressed and upset about the whole situation so be very careful

Today I visited Widnes at 9.15 am to get help with my hearing aids. The lady who sorted the problem...Emma was brilliant. The service extended to me was brilliant. Though largely the problem was of my own doing, she sorted us both out ...me and the aids!!

I spent over an hour in store then a good half and a hour choosing glasses (due to the member of staff who was ‘helping me’ constantly passing me glasses I didn’t like!) then I was asked were the glasses for reading or computer work. I explained that I had told several members of staff it was a corporate eye test. Eventually I was told my prescription hadn’t changed and that I had seen a trainee optician who was supervised (which he wasn’t!!) Next day I phoned the Store to ask the manager to contact me and have heard nothing. Awful service all round and I still have no idea if I need new glasses!

This is very poor! I’ve walk over an hour into town to be turned away! I’ve booked my appointment and then been told to do it at home. The website has let me book the appointment!!!!!! I want to talk to the expert not have some computer tell me I’m ok. I could have been working and earning money but instead I’ve wasted 2 1/2 hours! Sort it out !! Not happy.

Had an eye test yesterday. After initial assessment, I was told to sit in waiting area, which I did for 20 minutes. Only person sat there, when an optician can up to me and said sorry for wait, paperwork wasn’t put in wrong tray and that they could find me. I was still the only person sat there. Absolute shambles.😡😡. Then to day received an appoint for eye test in December. Talk about incompetence. Needless to say I will never recommend or go there to Gloucester branch again.

Went for routine test, pleasant staff but blas’e test, tried to say I needed all sorts of special glasses or lose my sight from cataracts, I rang back and told them I can’t afford it and was told to come in and order my free nhs pair, no prior mention of this in shop. I went elsewhere and no mention of special glasses, I told specsaversI had done my eye training as a nurse but they still tried it on.

Hucknall Branch.. Went in for advice on a minor problem with my right eye .( I have to be on top form as the wife has gone blind) So had an appointment made for a check up not an eye test. By the time the appointment came round the problem had cleared up, but went anyway turned out to be nothing wrong and eyes had not changed from the last eye test 2 years ago.. Good news then!!!"no" Specsave Man recommends i have my Bi/ Focal improved a little for reading and close up work.(Remember nothing was wrong) Left £ 200 lighter.. So new lenses then .Two weeks wait (Covid Time) lenses fitted and off we go.No they were rubbish couldn't even see the Dashboard in the Car , couldn't use the Computer couldn't read the paper without squinting couldn't use my Pad or my Mobile .Went back to complain and to make another appointment for a retest the manager was really rude raised her voice and berated me in front of other customers (Needs a bit more Customer Relations Training) while i spoke quietly and asked her just to make another appointment so i could leave..This happened two years running..When i went back i didnt have a retest just asked for a refund.Told the Top SpecMan they were were rubbish and not fit for purpose want my money back and will take my business elsewhere. He didn't argue. So obv knows they sell rubbish.Just seems they want to leave you light in your pocket even though nothing is wrong with your current Prescription. Overheard an eye test while i was waiting to be seen nothing wrong with her eyes no change from last year but recommends she has Vari/Focals instead of the Bi/Focals she already has.Other wise she would have left without spending any money.Seems to be the Policy to sell you anthing they can even if nothing is wrong.

Went to Specsavers in Holloway. I am left with two pairs of Unwearable and Unusable glasses. Was given no help in choosing glasses and was not given any fittings. The Glasses arms are two short meaning glasses are being pulled in tight to my face. Optician gave new prescription for long distance and reading glasses. Went for two long distance. Did not ask me ant questions or what job I had. I am a Van Driver. Distance lens meant I could not read my Satnav or Drivers job sheets. On picking up glasses shop was to busy, given glasses and told come back another time. The shop uninterested in helping. Offered half price for pair of Varifocals. As I already had paid for two pairs that I couldnt use. Didnt trust them to supply decent pair of Varifocals. Very bad at adjusting arms. Believe they should have refunded money.

This store has the worst customer service I've ever seen. Came in for an eye test for contact lenses and did a fitting. Unfortunately the optometric decided to skip an eye test and told me to buy a pack of 30 contacts. By the time I realised that they gave me the the wrong contacts it was too late. I came back in and I was told that I was supposed to receive a trial pack first, but because I went along and purchased the pack I can no longer do the trial. No responsibility on their part whatsoever! I also spend nearly an hour waiting for a proper eye test. Would highly recommend going to a different store

Wouldnt recommend using Mother is aged 96, wears glasses and need hearing aid. No customer service when it comes to dealing with the elderly and vulnerable. After the lockdown was lifted, all they seem to have is excuses, then 1 member of staff said they dont visit, the next person said the do. When to an independant, hidden hearing, and they come out and saw my mum, a little dearer, but with a 90 days returns policy and 6 months to pay for teh hearing, mum aged 96 was more relaxed, AVOID specsavers - they use to be go, No they have got to BIG

as you know with covid you would think that thing would be put into place to make you feel comfortable , but no o could not wait to leave specsavers as there was too many people in the shop not enough seats some seats were not placed 2 meters apart families were allowed to come in together even though one person was being seen , lots off people was not wearing or half way pulled off masks i will not be going back as its made me feel so unconfortable i just hope i dont get covid so my nerves will be on edge for the next couple off weeks !!!

Would have liked the person who was allocated to me when I was trying on glasses to be not so vocal about glasses I chose and not so pushy about the ones she chose! Will try elsewhere next time, which is a shame because everyone else was really nice. A lesson in tact and customer service might be helpful!! The store I went to was Macclesfield.

Rip off, I needed a eye test for driving license they said they won't do it unless I did a full test which is not required for the driving license. The worst part is that I already did the full eye test with them two weeks ago.

When I first ordered my glasses the second pair had the completely wrong prescription in them when I picked them up. Initially no notice was taken and I was told that I would get used to them. However when i brought them back they were checked and they were the opposite to my prescription. They were sent back and all was fine. Thank you. After about 9 months of wearing the lyle and Scott's pair. When I went to put them on one of the arms came off (not the screw ) the arm had come away. When I took them back they said I would have to buy another pair because "the section is actually bent". I couldnt see anywhere on the frame that was bent and I know I looked after them so they couldnt be bent. I took them to an independent optician for a second opinion . They agreed with me that the was not bent and it was a fault in the frame. I don't feel I should have to pay for a new pair. Niw I am using and old pair.
