“If it was possible to give zero stars I would! The worst experience ever! I’ll try and keep this review short but it’s going to hard, got my glasses and I couldn’t see out of one eye properly as it was blurry so I went back to SPECSAVERS and after waiting over half a hour they said could I not just put up with it !I was flabbergasted at this remark ,, and so they sent me to Bolton as they was saying they think I have characteristics! So I had to have a day off wrk and the results were NO I DIDNT HAVE CHARACTERISTICS! Also one of the lenses fell out of the frame (very cheaply made) witch they told to call at the store and they’d replace it for free,, well I should think so I’d only had them a couple of weeks, but when I got to the store it was a different story ,, they actually made me pay!!! My daughter went mad ! £25 to be exact, and I’d payed well over £200 for these rubbish glasses that were falling apart and that I couldn’t see out of! They then gave another pair of glasses that I still couldn’t see out of and they was all wonky not sitting right at all on my face ,, at this point I gave up ! I was sick to death of going back ,, also the store was always VERY BUSY ,, and at a glance and not noing nothing you’d atomically think “o this is a good shop for glasses it’s so busy”! But please don’t be fooled this store is so busy because of complaints! Asda pilsworth is a far better place top class glasses and so much cheaper,, a load of amateurs at SPECSAVERS,, stay away ! But if you want to waste your hard earned cash with something that will end up in your bin get down there ,, can’t stand to hear the name SPECSAVERS!!! Absolute joke !”
“I think Crawley Specsavers have sunk to a very low level, on Sunday 2nd May 2021 they telephoned a very frail 91 year old Lady and badgered her into making an appointment for an eye test just so that they could sell her spectacles ( she telephoned me with regard to this in a very distressed state) SPECSAVERS IF YOU ARE SO DESPERATE FOR BUSINESS THEN CHECK YOUR CLIENTS AGE FROM YOUR RECORDS, DON'T PHONE AT WEEKEND BETTER STILL LET YOUR PAST CLIENTS CONTACT YOU IF THEY REQUIRE AN EYE TEST. TRY PUTTING PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT”
“From all these reviews I must be lucky because the place I live near (Wythenshawe) has really good customer service but can get iffy when calling but apart from that Its good all around.”
“I had new reading and driving spectacles. Both pairs gave me blurred vision and actually hurt my eyes after a few seconds. I was told that I "needed 2 weeks to re-adjust". RUBBISH they are not fit for purpose and I can't use either of them. I can read anyway without the reading glasses. Forget the "2 weeks to adjust" I want a full refund.”
“Caerphilly branch.. Terrible customer service...do not listen to customer when told that it is impossible to see through glasses.. staff having to follow the protocol being made to look incompetent .. the customer its being served by text book trained robots..if you value your sight avoid specsavers”
“I ordered two pairs of glasses on 18th March. I called to collect them on 1st April. They had lost one pair and said they would mail them to me. After several calls, they said they had sent them on 21st April using DX. They never arrived. After several more calls latterly to Supervisor Stacey (no surname) she said she would order a third pair but made no effort to phone me back or contact the courier - DX. Frankly, the service provided by the Norwich Longwater branch is very poor and lets down the company.”
“I had a good visit when I selected my 2for1 offer. Only to find out when I collected them it was just the one pair of glasses & another £79 to pay to get a second pair and another visit to collect, unfortunately I feel I was misled/mis sold on my first visit with only an apology of “oh sorry”.”
“Saw you guys about three years ago when my husband was stationed in the UK and had glasses made told the doctor they were too strong... I go to a new stateside doctor at our new base and they said the glasses that I'm wearing now are to strong and my eyes are working to hard.....listen to your patients”
“Purchased 2 pairs of glasses in Jan 21 went to Jackson st store as glasses slipped of and one lense got scratched refused to change lenses unless I paid £19 will never set foot in specknonsavers again”
“I collected two pairs of glasses from the Lincoln branch in November 20 and found the left lens in each pair blurred my vision..returned to say I was not happy ..the female member of staff actually said I had to realise that when you
age your sight deteriorates and I had to accept that..told me to go home
and persevere with them...went home ..not happy... they were not the
right prescription....I returned and had another eye test. Lens's were
altered but they are still not perfect..I will not use Specsavers again..”
“Awful attitude and sham of a service. Rude manager, clueless staff. Flouting rules throughout on the pretext of NHS processes. Were asked to visit the branch and then told nothing can be done, an appointment would be required. Got the eye test confirmation over text and confirmation via email. This was done as a special favour due to urgency of the situation. Reached there and were told can’t have eye test now and come back later.
Disgusting treatment of customers and bending their so called rules and processes at their whim and fancy but telling customers that it is the process. Total farce! Disrespectful and disparaging attitude!!Flawed internal processes and incompetent staff!!!”
“The 3 young ladies that looked after me at the Ryde isle of wight branch were amazing. They were so helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. THANK YOU. (HEARING DEPT)”
“I’d give no stars if I possibly could.
I have an exemption lanyard, and despite presenting it, was told that I was not allowed in the store. Just appalling discrimination! When I had to attend with my daughter for her eye appointment, again I was told I wasn’t allowed in the store even with my exemption lanyard. I’ll never use you again. Terrible way to treat a long time customer.”
“Well, I wish I had read the reviews before using Specsavers again. My reading glasses broke and as I was due an eye test I thought I could kill two birds with one stone and buy some new frames at the same time. It took 2 weeks for two pairs, one for reading one for driving to be ready BUT, neither were any good, my old lenses were fine, the new, I could not see a dam thing with. Was told to persevere for 2 weeks and see if they settled in, my dam eyes, stressed, struggling to see on the recommendation of an optician, ????? can't be right! 2 weeks later still can't see through them, eyes re-tested and prescription completely different, now a further wait until new ones can be made. Not a good service and for sure, being told to stick with glasses, through which I could not see, placing my eyes under strain, hmmmmmm doesn't seem the correct advice to me. Think twice before using again.”
“Don't seem to be able to put a lens into frame correctly. I have been back four times as lens is bulging out of frame on left eye, had two pairs made at same time other pair fine but just can't seem to get them to do a simple alteration to them as lens is slightly too big. It's obvious what's wrong but just keep getting told rubbish. They've tried again today and have made a gap at top of lens now so yet again I have to go back. Won't be using them again after this enough is enough not very professional. Newcastle branch.”
“My wife had a hearing aid fitted in Norwich and was advised to wear it for a fortnight to see how she got on with it. As she had had a chlestiotoma op previously she found that the aid was too uncomfortable in that particular ear so took them back to Specsavers who refunded her immediately with no problems. We are talking about £1950.00 so I am so impressed with this company.”
“HI I went to the local Walthamstow Specsavers the horrible try to impose to buy a kid frame which does not fit on his face on asked for other told me we do not have you have to use big one horrible services staff is so rude and untrained, Will never ever go will try the optical world,”
