“After coming across Sponge by chance (I wish I hadn’t) I ordered for my brothers birthday and the order was due Saturday, and has not arrived. I normally order doughnuts as gifts but the company has gone into administration where I normally order from, so was looking for somewhere new to order my gifts from. I would've ordered elsewhere if I knew my order wouldn't have arrived, particularly after paying more for Saturday delivery. This as my first (and now last) experience, was not good. Only hope the order now actually arrives after reading other reviews!!”
“Good cakes, reasonable price, customer service could be more helpful, and delivery is unreliable. What's the good of ordering a birthday cake as a birthday surprise if you can't be sure it will arrive on the day?!”

Order 3 different baby sponges for 3 different friends at different addresses. I thought I'd cheer them up because they were feeling a bit low due to the current situation.

All 3 cakes were to arrive for a set date. Two friends received them. The third box of cakes didn't arrive. Was told each day they would turn up when I enquired. Nothing. There was an apparent address confusion.
Was then told the dept had not sent it out.
In the meanwhile, I've ordered numerous items other places during this time - all have been reliable.
Called and told I'd get a refund. Not the point at all.
Won't be using this service again.
