We have been to St. Martin more than 10 times, and rented private villas there each time. While we previously used another company to rent villas through, they were recently sold, and we were forced to find an alternate option. This was our second experience with St. Martin Blue. While the first experience at the end of 2022 was better, our most recent experience was definitely not one you would expect from a 'luxury villa' rental company. Truly - all they are is a website - which is a lovely website - but, the concierge service provided between booking the villa and traveling was poor and not even close to the level that we have experienced with several other villa rental companies. The concierge service, once on island, was exceptional. I would recommend that customers considering renting through St. Martin Blue, for properties on St. Martin, reach out directly to rental agencies on St. Martin island, which is what we will be doing in the future.

5 stars for setting and layout. Zero Stars for the putrid smell of poor septic system upkeep. A huge disconnect. Really, the contrast of stunning location versus the putrid smells is hard to get my head around. The daily cleaning person was kind and very thourough, but of course could do nothing about the septic smells. A clear sign of property mismanagement. Unacceptable.

Just returned after 12 days …. Prepare to be impressed with the first and second conversation with your sales agent , and then once you send in your deposit ….. good luck getting a response to your inquiries. The villa “kiwi” was positioned to me as being right in the heart of Les Terres Basses…. It was not. It was not inside the gated community like I had requested . On our contract it stated a cleaning lady every day (except Sundays and holidays ), she showed up for 4 hours total out of a 12 day period. In my contract I was supposed to get a chef with a special meal….. never happened. Marius the concierge was a nice man… we got the pleasure of speaking to one another about 2-4 times a day so that he could help me arrange trades for all of the deficiencies in the villa. There were days that we felt like project managers ….. only we were paying them! Lighting deficiencies, BBQ not operable , leaking washing machine, tons of ants , leaking faucets , drain issues in the showers, and a cleaning lady who doesn’t show up. Never Again.

St Martin Blue was ok pre-visit but we had a few issues onsite with Villa that impacted our enjoyment. First of all, no one showed up to pick us up from airport and we waited way over an hour past expected time and with much stress. (It was on a Sunday and we had traveled 12 hours at that point) and apparently the person assigned to pick us up forgot us.) A/C and TV in the master bedroom didn't work most of our stay there. They did send technicians twice for each problem but that impaired our enjoyment waiting on responses and having to make ourselves available to maintenance. (They told us we didn't have to wait around but that's was of little comfort and not what we felt comfortable doing so a lot of our limited time there was spent waiting on resolutions instead of enjoying ourselves and a lot of our time spent there had a parade of people in/out which was WAY intrusive.) There was poor communication between mgt and repairmen. They would report problem resolved, when in fact they were not, and repairmen told us personally that they weren't sure problem was fixed and to "let them know" if it continues, which both problems continued throughout our stay and required us to recontact mgt for repair/service. Each problem was minimally resolved throughout our stay. They may claim there was a miscommunication (language) but their English was good enough that there was no mistake on what we were told. (Fox example, A/C continued to freeze up, though we did NOT turn temp below the recommended degree, and were told to close doors and curtains to help improve situation -which had minimal improvement and made it impossible to enjoy the view we paid for.) After all that, there was an exterior maintenance problem (never explained to us why it was necessary) that briefly interrupted our outdoor family event that was another intrusion. Even after everything, mgt did not offer any refund or credit towards our stay, which under the circumstances seemed inappropriate at best. I lived in St Maarten decades ago under much more unsophisticated circumstances, so I had reasonable expectations but this trip had exceptional meaning to myself personally and my family and felt a bit cheated and disappointed. Villa's a nice place and would have loved everything about it except for above mentioned and owner needs regular maintenance weeks or perhaps we were extremely unlucky.

The house was lovely and fit our party of 15. We enjoyed house cleaning daily and the pool was awesome. Unfortunately the family and kitchen area which is very large, have beautiful glass sliding doors that face west. Anytime from noon on, that room was uncomfortable to stay in because the room air conditioner could not keep it cool. We were not told ahead of time you cannot drink the water. You have to purchase bottled water for coffee, cooking and drinking. Unfortunately, on the last two days of our stay, water started dripping out of the outside wall between the first and second floors. It did not affect our stay, but there was a major issue somewhere, possibly with the air conditioning‘.

We arrived about 7 pm. It was dark. No lights in pool area except for inside pool so blackness all around. Granddaughters 9, 8,7,5 wanted to swim so I was on guard. I heard crying and a scream and raced to where it was.coming from. It was by edge of pool that looked like it had a hill behind it. I screamed for her and took a step into total darkness and found myself falling 8 feet off a cliff not a hill. She had fallen backwards off the ledge after seeing a cricket. Rushed her to hospital and thankfully no spinal injury to neck . I sustained a lumbar fracture . It was long awaited surprise family vacation to celebrate our 45 th wedding anniversary. Wrote managemeht upon returning to let them know how close we came to dying and how unsafe the pool area is, especially for children and at night . No signs, lights, protective fence. Offered nothing to compensate for lost vacation, pain, trauma, medical bills. A house doctor shook his head when he saw the area of the fall. So unsafe. Only response was to say house met building codes. As for the house, in the 3 hours I was healthy and coukd walk , it was expansive and beautiful . Kitchen a little worn and air conditioning in living area was not effective against sunlight . Couldn’t spend time in there. Much too hot. Housekeepers were fabulous and caring . Too many workers…gardeners, house repair men always on property. I didn’t mind since I was bedridden but offered no privacy at times if that’s important to you . I truly hope they address the lack of safety design by the pool area infinity edge. Someone will meet a fate worse than ours if not. Remember you are on your own should sonething happen that’s not your fault because management obviously only cares about collecting your money and will not assume any responsibility for their properties.

Thank you for your review. We deeply regret your experience. Contrary to the comments submitted, we did in fact thoroughly investigate the matter on your behalf and spoken to relevant parties that have contradicted certain representations. Unfortunately, the situation stemmed from an unsupervised child climbing up and onto the infinity edge of the villa's pool and then regretfully losing her balance. It is a deeply regrettable accident and we are highly sympathetic to the situation. As promised, we investigated the claims against the house. We reviewed the images presented, spoke to multiple guests and the property manager as well as verifying that the pool and house met the local safety standards of the French government. The villa does have a common infinity edge pool and there is usually a significant drop off on the other side of infinity edge pools. There are walled barriers to prevent guests from stepping onto the infinity ledge and there is no step up from the pool onto this ledge. Unfortunately, due to a lack of supervision of the child while in the pool, the child regrettably climbed up on to the infinity edge and fell without supervisory intervention. Our guests are reminded that pools are inherently dangerous to children and children are to be supervised 100% of the time when in the pool. Once again, we deeply regret your experience and we are thankful the child is doing well.

I do not have the greatest experience with this villa. I wouldn’t recommend
