"WHAT EVER YOU DO DON\u2019T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!\r\n\r\nThis is an update as the 1st bad review I put on was mild compared to the recent experience with them.\r\nThey sent through damaged and faulty bin storage. Broken bits and rotten wood which you can see in the pics I have attached.\r\nTheir solution to the broken and faulty part was not to send the panel replacement but to send me the slats. This would mean me almost taking a whole side of it apart to fix it.\r\nI asked for replacement panels, but I had to chase. I\u2019m over 3 weeks in and they still haven\u2019t dealt with it. \r\nThey take your money quickly but when you have a problem they take ages to get back if at all! I chased them loads calling and emailing and today was told that as I had emailed many times it wasn\u2019t helpful and slowed them down!!! I have an answer to that\u2026 deal with the problem. Hilariously he then agreed he would have done the same if it were him?! \r\nSo apparently the first feedback I gave here was seen by the boss and the guy that occasionally got back to me said that because I wrote this it had put them off dealing with the issue!\r\nThe words used were \u201cif we have a review that\u2019s useless, we tend to be pretty useless.\u201d They said they would look at it again if I\u2019d agree to take my honest review off here. That shows exactly who you are dealing with. I have proof of these conversations.\r\nThe guy then got back to me today and they decided again that they would send just the slats. So that\u2019s me repairing their faults. When I said I wasn\u2019t willing to spend my time repairing their faults departing words were and I quote\u2026. \u201cI said I\u2019d ring, sorry it wasn\u2019t with better or appropriate news but HEY HO\u201d. \r\nI agree with his use of the word \u201cappropriate\u201d!\r\nWhen I said I\u2019d complain to trading standards he said it wasn\u2019t relevant. I went on to say \u2018perhaps the consumer act\u2019 he said it was probably extinct?\r\n I told him I would update this or suggested perhaps his boss (who I was told was John) would like to speak to me? Apparently he\u2019s the one who decides the policy but gets others to act it.\r\nI\u2019ve spent a fair amount of my hard-earned money with these people and they have been one of the worst companies I have ever come across. \r\nPLEASE, WHAT EVER YOU DO SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. THERE ARE LOADS OUT THERE. THEY CANNOT BE WORSE THAN THIS ONE! READ THE OTHER ROTTEN REVIEWS THEY\u2019VE HAD. I WISH I HAD TOO. \r\nI may seek legal advice as I feel so strongly about the rotten products and service I have received! What company supplies faulty and damaged goods and expects you to spend your time fixing it for them???"

“Avoid Avoid Avoid . Liars and untrustworthy people . Customer service is appalling . Broken swing after 6 weeks and looks like no chance of refund only through court . So court it is then .”

“Appalling response to a broken swing after only 6 weeks use .Phoned and phoned and fobbed off every time .So I have no choice now but take it to court .I gave them the benefit of the doubt but to no avail .So I would say Avoid at all costs .I don’t like liars this could have been easily dealt with but no so Court it will be .”

“Do not go near this company, read all reviews, wish we had. Sent wrong item to us, still waiting for collection and refund 4 weeks later. Phone line shut off now, Emails ignored, worst communication EVER! Avoid Avoid Avoid”

“I had a very poor greenhouse delivered instructions were terrible and the product was useless wouldn't of lasted a week i told the company but had no response a family member wrote a letter witch they ignored they have bad reviews and watch dog should investigate them”

“Parts missing,no reply from them after I've emailed and told them. The quality is very inferior and cheap. Mine will be going to the refuse tip shortly after spending almost£200 on the lean to. Steer clear of this company. Nothing fits as it should.”

“Would rate as zero if the option was there. BUYER BEWARE Do not purchase this company’s metal sheds. They leak from most places, are extremely flimsy and difficult to erect and once up have to be taken down as not up to job Poor customer service regarding complaints and they don’t want to know once they have your money. Very stressful and upsetting to deal with and quite shocking. that they actually don’t give a damn. I even wrote to both directories Barry and Alan Summers and neither had the manners or professional attitude to reply. Am taking them to court as have several other customers. Shame on you Summer Garden Buildings”

“Bought 2 triple wheelie bin stores from them. Very poor quality. Screws broke during construction and some wood splintered but we thought we will give the product the benefit of the doubt. Did send them feedback and got totally ignored. 3 days up and a slight scottish wind managed to break off the chains, flip 3 bin lids and rip them off. A door also came off a few days later with hinge broken and wood splintered. We have called them and they refuse to refund. They are telling us it was our fault as we are incompetent at building and should have stopped the moment we thought it was bad quality. They also blame the location we live at which is seemingly high up in a valley (not sure what that's supposed to mean) and the triple wheelie bin stores are designed to go against a hedge. Hopefully you can find that information in the buying and building process somewhere, because we certainly couldn't. We are currently in process of involving Consumer Ombudsman to resolve the issue and get a full refund. Don't even want a replacement as it's total rubbish.”

“Shocking Customer services.Once they have taken your money no effort or decency to answer enquiries, rectify mistakes, resolve disputes and complaints. Told them that the shed would have to come thru the house, gave them a layout and paid extra to have the panels made smaller in order to avoid any issues on delivery but only the base and sides were small enough to go thru the house, the roof was not. Had to get them to make the roof panels smaller and revisit to install. They made me pay £200 extra for this when this was not my fault. They even got my design wrong. Will not use them again don't fall into the same trap, BEWARE !!!”

“Placed an order for items to be delivered to us in Inverness , their online system stated the £4.99 delivery charge , 24 hrs later I get a call to say I have to pay an extra £70 for the delivery or I can cancel the order , which I did , not impressed, they need to really update there e-commerce website before taking anyone’s money”

“I looked to buy the Growhouse 070 model priced at £129 on 16th March 2019 (I have a dated screen print to prove this) but did not order it then as we were going away for a while. I looked again yesterday (Sunday 31st) and it had increased in price to £149 which I thought was odd ... I have just looked again today and it has now risen to £169!! An increase of £40 in two weeks!!! Apparently prices were guaranteed until April 1st?? I phoned the company to check these prices and they were not interested. I’m glad after speaking with them and reading these reviews that I didn’t order it!!”

“I totally agree with a quite a lot of comments re customer service. We ordered 4 items from this company and each one was damaged.We have emailed them per their instructions and phone them but to no avail.They are tardy in the extreme at answering emails and do not return phone calls. Totally shabby and unreliable firm.Suggest you avoid purchasing anything from them at all and as previously mentioned they do very little for an inflated price.”

“If I could give minus stars I would . Absolutely shocking company to deal with and what you need to understand is that they are merely acting as agents for other companies they are buying from i.e the just take a commission and do very little else for it. This in itself is ok as long as you know ( which I didn't) but for you to place an order with SGB and then get an invoice from company you've never heard from is ridiculous especially if the invoice bears no resemblance to your order . The phone operator ( probably the owner ) was rude and condescending when I threaten him with not paying for the delivered shed. When they then produced the right invoice I paid but deducted all my costs associated with the debacle and if they want the rest I will see them in court -AVOID AVOID AVOID”

“Purchased Gazebo 140 end of July 2018, complained of rust forming on joints of the metal work. Sales stated it could be expected, they were not helpful unless I sent a photo. I did not expect the framework to start going rusty after such a short time since purchase. Spent nearly £30 on items to rectify the problem. Would not recommend.”

“I bought a metal shed from them last July - on the basis that their website says how strongly built it is. 7 months later, a 30 mph wind (and, despite what they have said, that is provably the strongest wind it endured) was enough to crumple it. They clearly have lots of claims like mine because they produced a standard response, with lots of detail as to why it wasn't their fault. I will now be going to court to get my money back. I can't speak for their wooden sheds but the metal shed we bought is terrible. They even said these sheds should be used in "exposed rural locations" - though it doesn't say that on their website, of course!”
