Hi- We are sorry to hear the tape isn't working for your fence. It is usually not suited for outdoor applications but rather "near total darkness". Outdoors, even at night, there is often too much ambient light to see a bright shine you might be looking for but you should definitely see the glow. We're sorry you're not satisfied with the product. You mentioned previously the tape is being applied outdoors on a sign; it is possibly an application issue. The product is designed, as it says in the description, to illuminate rooms in near darkness such as during an emergency or power failure. Please read the description and if this doesn't seem suited for your sign we'll gladly accept the return and perhaps recommend something else.
Application:
Tape will glow in total darkness after exposure to artificial or natural light - it is fully charged within 30 minutes.
Glows brightest the first 30 minutes after activation has ceased, but will remain clearly visible in a totally dark room to the night- adapted eye for 24+ hours. Used for identification of critical equipment controls, light switch covers, exit and directional signage – especially for escape routes and stairways. Tape clearly labels safety equipment and provides a safe, illuminated path through stairwells, halls, rooms, and other potentially hazardous areas. Simple and inexpensive to install position, peel off backing, and adhere, this safety system requires virtually no maintenance. Used in hotels, hospitals, schools, public facilities, office buildings and manufacturing plants – wherever people need a safe, reliable high and low-level egress pathway in case of an emergency, such as sudden power outages or the spread of smoke.
