Disgusting behaviour towards my elderly mum. Will never have anything to do with AA insurance again. Am going to the ombudsman not for compensation because I’m not interested, but I want an unreserved apology. I’m moving everything including breakdown elsewhere. Disgusting.

After my car was in a accident in October 2023 the garage the AA sent it to to be repaired steers of borehamwood they sent my car back out to me half repaired and with more damage obviously I sent it back they have now had my car for 3 months every time I enquire about how much longer they are going to have my car for all you get is lies and excuses the AA has bought into there lies after being told all parts are on site and the car is ready for independent inspection now I’m told that there still awaiting parts that have been held up due to the war in Ukraine After complaining to the AA they advise you that they have up to 8 weeks to reply To your complaint and they do take the whole 8 weeks Really disappointed with the AA Disgusting customer service

I give the three stars as I really appreciate the breakdown cover which although having a ridiculous annoying automated voice system does always ultimately come through. I'd recommend for breakdown cover This negative point around the overall customer service is something I'll elaborate now. A car crashed into me a good while ago. Their insurance paid and later on I needed to know how much this was for a contract I was signing. I obviously never knew. I called AA with what I thought was a very simple question. After speaking for around five minutes I was passed onto someone else. I repeated my question which was to know how much it was for and to be emailed the information. He kept asking question after question and giving me all this other information I didn't want. I couldn't believe how hard it was for aa to answer such a straightforward question. Eventually after he asked me another question or was giving me another piece of information I didn't want I sighed 'oh mate. Please just listen. All I want from you is to just tell me how much my single insurance claim was for and then to email me the same information. Can you do that?'. He then replied yes. I said how long will it take. He said two minutes. I was put on hold and on looking at my phone I'd been on the call for 14 minutes already. He came back and told me the number. I then asked for the email and it came while he was on the phone then we ended the call. What I found phenomenal as someone who has made a database for a company was why it had to even be passed on and why a question of how much was my one claim caused such difficulty. It should have been a two minute conversation with one person. Instead around 17 minutes of nonsense. I just hope I don't have to phone again for a long time. Thanks for the breakdown cover though and I hope you'll come through if I ever have an accident.

Been in the AA for over 20years,in thattime I've used them once.just went to my father's grave with my mum,car got stuck on grass verge called the AA out for assistance, but unfortunately theywouldn't come out unless I payed 75pounds over the phone, because according to them my cover didn't cover getting stuck. I told them the shove it.

Broke down in 1 of busiest City in UK on 1 of busiest junction with 5 roads cutting across it. Got told it would be high priority cause of location. They allocated a driver then with no warning changed it to a 3rd part company with 4 hour wait. When I phoned they said I need to phone the police they haven't got anyone in the area! As a result there has been so many near misses and I've had to wave ppl to warm them if the danger

AA driving school has pushed me to become so confident in my driving in just 5 months. To also add on my driving instructor Raj was phenomenal to me! Always pushed me to do my best and tried his hardest to encourage me to work on my weaknesses in the kindest ways.

Please stay away from AA they are the worst company you can go for. My car was fitted with a new battery by them within 4 weeks of this battery being fitted I have had nothing but problems. The new battery kept going flat each time I called the AA they blamed it on 3 different issues with the car. All 3 times I took the car to the garage the garage conformed there was an issue with the battery. I have tried endless time to get a refund and all they do is fob me off. I have got in touch many times with AA and no resolution. I am having to get in touch with the motor ombudsman and trading standards to get my money back. Please stay away from them they are nothing but liars and some customer services staff are so rude on the phone

"Never really know how good insurance is until you make a claim but certainly the procurement was easy and the cover very good for the money. All done on the internet."

Renewal quote for 2nd year had an added € 157 charge. Went online and offered lower quote which salesteam would be matched by Renewal team. This after a lengthy period on hold wasn't matched. Beware when renewing with this company

AA abandoned car at services with key! My brother came to see me in London for the New Year, arriving on the 29th Dec, his clutch went luckily near my house so managed to get parked up. He called the AA and and they came to see the issue. They said it would need a tow but my brother lives up north and didn't have the correct cover to get a full tow. They gave him the site and code to sign up to the correct cover which he did and arranged a tow on New Years Day. The driver arrived, and said that it would take 8 hours and 3 driver switches to get them and the car home. I gave them my car so they could get on their way. The driver got to the first stop with the car at a services, called my brother and said he didn't have the correct cover and would cost £800 for the full tow. My brother has no choice now but to pay, but the car is still at the services 3 days later with the key on the wheel!! AA can't tell him when they will collect it. Disgusting!!

My 24 year old Son was 60 miles from home staying with his girlfriend when the wipers on his Renault Clio stopped working. Because the weather was pretty much rain across the whole region we told him to stay put and not attempt to return home. My wife is covered by the AA as she is the registered keeper of the car. After a call to AA she was informed that she was the only one covered and that they couldn’t assist our son. My wife’s policy is through NatWest bank and after reading through the policy it clearly states that the car was covered for any driver with my wife’s consent. My wife went to the bank immediately and was after a short time told that the policy was valid. My wife called the AA whilst there and the operator said after checking the policy it had been updated and she was covered. No explanation was given why she had to go through all this inconvenience. Now the AA were on the way to assist our Son and we thought he would be able to get home safely. AA were there within an hour but the mechanic basically told our son that he couldn’t fix the wipers and then went on to belittle him saying that the timing belt needed changing amongst other things he thought needed to be put right. This is the best bit !!! Because at that point it wasn’t raining where my son was the AA mechanic told him that the car could be driven but if it started to rain to pull over. We expected the car to be relayed home but how wrong we were. I cannot believe how from the outset AA just tried to get out of giving the service they promote. Very very angry and disappointed

My single parent daughter broke down in London today with her 4 year old daughter in car. The AA mechanic said it needed towing and that she should get a cab the 15 minute drive to her flat and he would tow the vehicle within 2 hours. Hours later he had not taken her car to her, did not call her and when we called the AA we were told it could take up to 48 hours to get a tow truck as he couldn't do it. We explained she also has a disability and we need to get a garage to repair the car a.s.a.p and more urgently she would get tickets from tomorrow or be towed away without her blue badge on car. We explained we are in our 70s my husband is disabled and we both have Covid so couldn't go to help her and live on other side of London. Also I've badly injured my back so can't even drive at the moment. The AA mechanic stopped her staying with the car when she could have and therefore the control centre said she was no longer a priority. He left the car with the key on the wheel and didn't even tell my daughter. We are extremely upset with the way this was handled after being with the AA for over 50 years.
