I would give them minus stars if I could. The alternator died in Wolverhampton at 5pm on the way back from Ireland, it took over an hour to get through as the app sends you round in circles! Eventually got to an operator after much searching on the internet. We got passed form the UK, to the European then the Irish AA who logged the call, then got a link to a screen that gave us the pick up time as 8.05pm as it got closer, it simply updated to 08.45pm, then 8.55pm and kept updating. AA then would not answer call, and the 24 hour breakdown people would were also shut down - so much for 24hour service. We waited until 11pm when we had to walk for 2 miles to a hotel. Half way to the hotel got a call from the pick up truck who said he had only just been told of the job! Same problem in the morning, my husband had to ring around to get it dropped to a mechanic. We should have simply cut out the AA middleman and saved the trouble and money. Their job is to help, they hindered, do it yourself look up breakdown services on google it is faster, easier and cheaper. The AA left us stranded angry, and in danger.

Absolute joke, got a blow out in the middle of nowhere, Me, the Mrs and dog in the car, tried repair kit but hole to big, phoned The AA, 15 minutes to get through to be told I have to wait up to 6 hours because they are busy, waited for 2 hours and Mrs had to go to the loo in a bush, drove home with a flat tyre, obviously wrecked my wheel, I am a gold member for 21 years until I phone them and cancel, total useless company now, don't waste your money

Xx AVOID AVOID. I pay £27 a month. Just been charged £169 to be picked up roadside to get home, plus an extra subscription of nearly £5 a month for an 'upgrade' to relay, this equates to an extra £60 a year (I broke down 35 miles away from home) not in a million years did I think I'd be paying that when I pay, for what I thought was a decent package? I feel robbed in my hour of need. Most certainly will be transferring membership to a different supplier. The real kick in the teeth is that it would have cost me roughly £300 with no membership. Membership is a rip off considering the extra 'upgrades' they insist you have, extra mileage (£4.50 per mile) upgrade on membership then extra charges on monthly. Avoid avoid avoid £324 equivalent membership per year plus £229 extra.... Not worth it

Worse than useless. Broke down on a mountain road and the AA were hapless. They promised many ETAs for assistance but would then remind me that any bloke is a 3rd class citizen. There's always going to be some feminist jumping the queue you see, doesn't matter how long you've waited, they even advertise this 'feature'. Ended up having to leave my Jaguar XKR and get a taxi home after midnight ( breakdown reported about 5:30pm). They then claimed that I wasn't covered, that I had to go through my insurance ( which I already had) and various other shenanigans. So if you don't have blue hair or are a one legged preop transvestite claiming to be oppressed then the AA will take your money but will proudly treat you like a leper.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a company! I chose them because they're old school and thought what could go wrong! Well everything went wrong, they put in my file that I had an accident claim, pushing up my rates, then when I called, had a customer service adviser, or the phone down on me! Then when I call back and check, they tell me, yes it's our fault we apologise, then hit me with a quote double the price of last year, and remove my no claims bonus?!? They have said its fixed now, but it's not!! I'm going to have call them again! Which takes a minimum of 2 hours, whilst I'm passed around from pillar to post! Just the absolute worst service, don't think what I thought, that them being older, they carry a higher standard, because they don't, shop around!!

Gear box went so phoned the AA at 9pm and waited until 5am the next day! Terrible service and their truck drivers are working 11 hours shifts! Something needs to be changed, they also advertise that their average recovery time is 40-60minutes? Absolute lies!

Should stand for absolutely awful.Broke down South Bound M5 half three in the morning.Took almost an hour to speak to anyone on the priority line. Two people in car altogether and two dogs.Recovery vehicle turned up at 7 45 by this time battery flat.Recovery person was quite abrupt struggled to get in and out of his vehicle and towed us to service station 15 mins away but unable to change tyre.Ended up getting a friend to come from Bristol to change tyre and the tool we apparently didn't have was there all the time.Shocking stars should be zero.Looking for alternative recovery cover

Been a loyal customer for years, cars gearbox has gone while it's in for a service and I need it collecting....AA refusing to help unless I pay. Using technicalities to get out of helping, not worth being a member.

I have parts and garage cover, plus breakdown my car was attended to by an AA patrol back in April 23 who referred it to an 'approved PRESTIGE' garage. The vehicle was assessed, and it came back with an issue with the rear nearside shock absorber 'supposedly' which is covered. Anyway this part was replaced under warranty. I drove away from the garage and reported the same issue still ongoing. Loud noise to underside of car when driving, both back to the AA and garage. I was fobbed off by the AA's approved garage which is a PRESTIGE garage. I logged a complaint and it was rebooked back into another AA PRESTIGE garage local to me. I was assured if was an issue it would be repaired part of the same original call out, numerous times I was told this! The second garage assessed the car, said it was a weak shock absorber that had just been replaced and the top mount was the issue. Anyway, the saga continues I was then told that the shock absorber couldn't be replaced under warranty at this garage as they are not set up on the system to do so. I was rebooked into a third garage, under the AA PRESTIGE umbrella. The saga is still ongoing, the third garage say it's a weak shock absorber supposedly brand new or second hand that has failed but the problem with the noise first reported in April is a control arm front near side. The AA PRESTIGE group will now not replace the control arm as they say it's a separate issue. All the while the same noise first reported back in April in a breakdown is still ongoing!! So I have a dodgy shock absorber and mount fitted by AA on my vehicle that could collapse any time therefore unsafe and they won't replace either this or the control arm which is apparently according to the third garage is the original problem and noise reported back in April 23. Both parts covered under AA warranty which I paid a lot of money for and have done these past few years. The AA PRESTIGE are happy to install dodgy parts and not honour the warranty insurance I paid for. Mickey mouse companies, if I was you I wouldn't bother with the AA or PRESTIGE if you have to. DEAL WITH THE DEVIL FIRST!!

Absolutely dreadful recovery service. My mother (76) and lifetime member broke down at 9.15 pm on a busy trunk road. No lights no pavement. Police turned up to tell her it was dangerous. The police stayed with her and radio calmed the AA 3 times to tell them how dangerous it was.we were told it would arrive by 11pm then time has been constantly pushed back. My mother is all the time out of the car stood on the side of the road freezing. It’s now 00.24 am and a small tow truck contracted by the AA has just turned up to tow the car off the road onto a smaller lane where she is now supposed to wait for another AA recovery to tow it to a garage 3 mikes away? So much for priorities… awful service.

Absolutely useless company, once they get payment upfront you can kiss goodbye to any kind of decent service. From having 'No courtesy cars available' despite it being part of my package, stating we'd had 'our maximum 8 call outs' when we'd actually had four and pay for unlimited call outs, to never dealing with our complaints! We are done with the AA and will never pay another penny for this ridiculous, shoddy service once our policy ends.

Zero stars. Have been stuck on South bound of M5 since 8.30. They got my location wrong not once but twice! Still waiting and it's midday. I was told I would be priority as lone female. Absolutely shocking.

AA has the rudest Customer Service representatives and unfortunately their Head Office is not any better, they are entitled and very poor listeners. I did not get to choose my AA breakdown cover to start with as it came as part of a financial car loan AA had arranged for me via a third party, no one at AA explained to me the difference between the policies and I was only told that I would have to pay , as an offer , £1 a month on Direct Debit, which I did pay for months, until I received a call from an AA representative whom told me that the offer had come to an end and I now had to pay £ 7.63 a month , again no explanation given on the type of breakdown policy. I since then just paid and never used your services but the only time I needed , then I was treated like I wasn’t even an AA member , where their representatives all they wanted to do was selling me extras and in a rude manner too. I complained to the CEO office and I was told that i had how “bombarded” the AA customer service representatives with questions, like this was so unacceptable of me to ask questions, I believe this is why a client calls a customer centre , surely not to be abused and rudely spoken back. To conclude , I feel that I have not received the polite type of customer service I had signed up for, therefore, I cancelled my membership and chose one of their competitors who will be more transparent with its action and use better manners.

Please please please do not take their parts offer. They will do everything they can to get out of paying for the parts. Always some loophole. Disgusting. Even better do not use them use someone else that honour what they have sold you

I am stuck on the hard shoulder of the m5 with a puncture. I phoned at 5.55 am to be told they would be straight out as its a priority being in a dangerous place. It's now 8.00 and I have just been told someone will be with us at 9.05 am. They are so full of cheap. They don't have their own vehicles, a local garage is coming. I would have been better off phoning from the roadside phone. They are dangerous, leave well alone
