“Very efficient procedure throughout - everything ready when I called to collect and prompt attention at the payment desk. I am very happy with the overall quality of the wines and the extremely reasonable prices. So far this time I have tried the Jacobs Creek sparkling (which is an amazing bargain) and the Ondine Sauvignon Blanc (most enjoyable). This is my second visit but not my last. Well done!”

“We have been visiting and buying from 'The Calais Wine Store' virtually since it began. Since our first visit 30 years ago, we haven't bought a single bottle of wine in the UK. Our 'home stocks' have just increased. In all that time, we have tried to combine wine buying with leisure and spent a couple of nights in the area. For the first time, we have availed ourselves of your pre-order/'free crossing' offer and it was perfect. We did a minimum order in advance and supplemented it when we arrived. The whole process worked perfectly. I have only two caveats. Your stock choice seems to have narrowed recently particularly in French Reds and I wonder how long you can keep going in the face of Brexit.”

“MASSIVE choice of wines (inc popular brands) from all over the world at all sorts of low prices (we saved c £200 off UK prices with our spend of £500 for the wedding). It really helps if you know what you want but if you don't, English-speaking & British staff are friendly, knowledgeable & very helpful and there is a tasting room for just about anything they stock (you may have to ask for the more expensive wines to be opened). Make sure you take a designated driver AND spit it out anyway (else you very soon won't care that you don't know what you bought - which rather misses the point!). Only 20 mins drive from Eurotunnel terminal and if you spend £250, they will (currently) pay either ferry or Tunnel crossing - saved us a further £60.00 (in fact, as we spent just over £500, they gave us a second return crossing voucher, valid for 1 year). Easily managed in a day (from Wiltshire), albeit a long one with an early start. WILL go again.”

“Excellent service - both in the pre-order stage, the collection and later in the store. So easy and efficient in every respect. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. There are also plenty of staff around to help and advise. It is extremely helpful to be able to sample the wines on offer before purchasing. And the prices are just brilliant.”
