“Service poor allowed me to order 2 matching lights then later told me they didn't have 2. Spoke to a man on the phone and he was so arrogant would never use this company again or reccommend them. Bought my lights later in the day from a fantastic online company who we rang and checked the stock situation and they were very proffesional.”

“I was asked to contribute a review before I have received my goods (one week ago ordered but as yet undelivered) so based on the timing I am not impressed so far. Tried to call to chase the order, but the phone just rings and rings.”

“Why sell light fittings that don't come with the required lamp? This should be stated in BOLD PRINT so it can't be missed. The packaging which contained my two light fittings in their boxes (for mailing) was very flimsy and not quite big enough.”

“Sold me a light, which was in stock, but then when I was expecting delivery, I was let down being informed that it was now out of stock, and my money would be refunded..... Disappointed.”

“Although delighted with the item it took two weeks to arrive. Had to contact THLC to find out what delay was. Whilst I understand delays happen an email to advise would have gone a long way in communicating with me as a customer.”

“Did not say item was out of stock but when I contacted customer services a week AFTER my delivery was supposed to arrive, I was told it was out of stock. Without my consent, my order was cancelled and refunded, even though I wanted the order! So disappointed and this was my first order too. Very bad impression.”

“This store does not bother to check their stock or whether products are even discontinued so beware you may be dissappointed when you order a product that they have live in their websit only to be later emailed that it is discontinued.”

“Great stock assortment and fair prices, would really like to receive an update asorder after placement e-mail and an e-mail confirming dispatch and ETA rather than phoning up 7 days later to be advised they are en route for delivery that day! Apart from that stock was well packaged and arrived in good order so very satisfied. Thank you”

“The four fittings ( Searchlight 201) were delivered in good order and in good time from the date of order, however the fitting has a poor design in that the fixings have not been thought through Fixings supplied were 2 No 4mm x 40mm counter sunk wood screws complete with two short wall plugs and two of each, soft pvc and meat washers, the problem is that the screw need to be in the wall prior to lifting the fitting on to the fixing, however the washes are to large to fit thought the light fitting The answer is to provide new 4mm round head screws and to through away the supplied washers and screws, marks of of ten for design, only Four”

“My order for two wall lights was accepted and money was taken electronically on 7 October. I then got an email saying the goods were no longer available (with no explanation). It is a week later and I still haven't been credited with the money paid.”

“I would strongly advise against using this company. I ordered an £80 light shade that was delivered with rust damage. I sent two emails and called to explain that the item was faulty and that I wanted to return it. Eventually, I received an email asking me to post the item to the address they provided. As you would expect from an online retailer, THLC’s website stated that they would cover the return cost of any faulty goods. I provided evidence (in the form of a receipt) that clearly showed the cost of return postage. Once they received this, they refused to cover any of the return postage cost. In addition, the customer service was abysmal. After lots of chasing from me, they came back stating that the item I returned was ‘flawless’. This definitely wasn’t the case and it sounds like they plan to sell the product to another unsuspecting customer! I’m afraid this is another example of an online retailer you cannot trust. Don’t make the same mistake as me. Mark”

“It seems odd to be asked to review an order when I haven't yet had the delivery or any communications yet aside from the initial order confirmation. Update 8-7-14 - still no news on my order (placed on 26-6-14) and no response to an email either so downgraded to very poor.”
