“Avoid avoid avoid. These guys are an absolute rip-off. They offer you 10% discount and a no callout charge but they failed to tell you. They go there to diagnose the problem and charge you £135 and come back the following day to rectify the problem and charge a further £205 I don’t mind paying, but I do not like being ripped off 😡”

I was away, so my son called "Local Plumbers" for help with the doors. No rush, can call when convenient. Pleasant guy came, worked with my son's help for 30/40 minutes, sadly without success.
Billed for £150...after a vehement phone protest, a discount of 50% was offered. My contact was a letter repeating a "discount" to £75; and threatening proceedings. No call out charge claimed. Paid reluctantly to avoid further stress.
So, almost a week of my pension for an abortive result.
The rate given for plumbers is £40/£60.

“DO NOT USE!!! 'Mr Smith', Derbyshire - what a con artist!! Charged £60 for 2 tap glands and the most basic WICKES toilet seat. Left a mess and charged over £500 for less than 3 hours work! My worry is the elderly people who can't afford to get ripped off by unscrupulous people like this!!

“The mechanism for raising and lowering the plug in my wash basin was not working. The plumber replaced the plug and said everything was ok. I was charged a total of £180 for 15 mins work. The plug was the incorrect size and the mechanism still did not work. I got someone else in who just tightened up a bolt and the problem was fixed. He did not charge me as it only took 5 mins.What poor service.”

“Organised a plumber in my area Southampton through this company who charged me a call out fee of £60.00. The first plumber wanted to charge me a further £65.00 call out fee. After many calls to Home Services they put me on to another plumber. I cancelled the plumber and Home Services are refusing to repay the call out fee. Don’t use them!”
