Having received a poor quality plant in May that failed to thrive I eventually got a refund but not for the overpriced postage for one tiny plant. They are no longer a reliable company and will just send anything out.

Failed to deliver order and sent wrong product instead. The alternative product was so small only about half have survived and are too small to plant this year. Original order delivered approximately 2 months after I expected. When product eventually arrived it was so tiny that it had obviously been planted when I first informed them that my order was missing. Plants are far too small to use in my garden this summer. I am doubtful if they will survive. I have used this company before without incident but I will not be using them again.

This will be the second year that I have ordered from TM, last year we had beautiful golden begonias, so on the strength of that we ordered the same again this year, however, they arrived too early and although we looked after them in the same way as last year, we have lost the all. We will not be ordering again fro TM.

Included in my order was 100 tulip bulbs. On arrival half were rotted and almost the other half pitted or damaged. I could hold the number of good bulbs in one hand. The rest of the order~ Allium and Crocus bulbs were fine. I contacted Thompson and Morgan and sent them photographs and within hours received an email to the effect that they were reimbursing me the cost of the tulip bulbs. I have therefore no issues with their customer service but I would have preferred to have received good quality tulip bulbs in the first place.

I ordered2 of a trio of alstroemeria plants. Both contained badly plants including dry stems with no leaves on. As there were no loose leaves in the packaging I can only assume they were not there when packed. In both sets it was item A damaged. To produce the desired effect all three plants would be needed. In the past I have ordered several times with T&M but this time they have fallen far short of my expectations so doubt whether I shall order from them again

Usually they are pretty good. But my last order 1/2 of the plants were not to bad and 1/2 were small and rotten with mold. I potted them up, but they have since died.I have now e-mailed customer services twice. Both with an ackowlegment they would respond within 48 hours. But i am still waiting. I notice this seems to have happened to other customers.

I ordered 36 perennial plug plants in May with a despatch date of 14 days. That date came and went and I eventually received despatch notification on 8 June. When the plants still hadn't arrived after 3 days I telephoned and was told that those plants hadn't actually been sent out as "they weren't good enough" and a fresh batch would be sent out in a day or so. This morning (16 June) I received a pack through my letter box - which turned out to be the original "missing" plants marked with a despatch date of 8 June. The plants had been in transit for 8 days and of the 36 plants only 2 were possibly viable; 19 cells contained no visible plant material at all and the rest had dead and/or dying wisps. Now I won't lie, I have had some good plants from T&M and when it's been necessary to contact them with a complaint they are always quick to replace or refund - which is why I gave them 2 stars; but I've also had 1 potted plant packed upside down which arrived totally destroyed - for which I was still awaiting replacement from March with the reorder being postponed 3 times; several packs with a couple of plants DOA (which I considered fair enough and didn't bother complaining about) and one collection of plugs packed sideways on - being plugs and having taken 5 days to arrive they had all fallen out of their cells and were in a poor condition. True they did offer replacements for those plants without me asking and those are currently in transit; however, today's appalling collection was the last straw and I have since cancelled all outstanding orders for a refund (obviously with the exception of those still in transit). Will I ever order from T&M again - probably not. I've come to believe that T&M are a sort of factory farm of plants. Their seemingly incredible pricing is often just the equivalent of a supermarket loss leader - I've lost count of the number of times I've ended up spending much, much more because "I might as well take advantage of the postage". Their garden ready stuff often really isn't and their plugs are generally not worth the hassle - whatever the price. Their Customer Service are often helpful and always refund/replace but I've found over time that what they tell you isn't necessarily what is actually the position (note the comments above) and there are plenty of proper garden centres out there which do as they advertise - so personally I'd advise to avoid this company and use one of them. Although I guess there are always going to be people who are taken in by the seemingly good prices so probably a poor review like this isn't going to make a lot of difference.

Bought several packets of flower seeds. Started them off inside to plant out later, as per instructions. Watered, plenty of sunshine. Not a thing appeared. Then last week, much excitement when several seedlings came up. Turned out they were wild poppies from seeds I had collected on a walk. Nothing to do with T & M.

I was bought a patio pond plant basket earlier in the year. The delivery was held up and kept hanging on for 3 days (ie given lots of ETAs which kept changing), one plant had dried out. We did plant it up but there's insufficient gravel so had to add more stones. Surprisingly all the plants seemed to revive and started to grow. It was fine at first but soon became unslightly as full of algae and green slime as of course stagnant water. Instructions how to improve the water quality would be a great advantage. The pontederia cordata doesn't seem to like these conditions and any new growth soon dies off. One plus, it's a 'excellent' nursery for mosquitoes, if thats really your burning desire!

I have one item still outstanding 4 months after ordering. They have £40 of my money and will not answer my emails and phone lines are not open. Even making allowances for the current situation, this is POOR. Any suggestions welcome!

I ordered 5 post plug Begonias, I didn’t realise this meant a tiny cutting put into a thumb nail size compost with no root. Only 2 survived and will never grow for this summer, I cancelled Geraniums when they said I would receive them end of July, I have waited 4 weeks and still no refund, I’ve have emailed them twice and get the same response from them, someone will deal with this 7-10 days, really frustrated, I also ordered Lobelias x15. They will be despached end of July, as a gardener I am aware end of July will mean I will only have a few months to enjoy my plants, The company does not inform you when you’re pants will be delivered until you purchase. I would NOT have made any purchase had I known the dates of despatch. A terrible company constantly sending Emails to encourage more shopping. I have happily bought Begonias Geraniums and Lobelias from shops, had I only relied on Thompson & Morgan I would have no more plants. Nightmare.

Late orders are understandable due to lockdown. Plants arrived dead. Still waiting for return contact. Order cancelled after already being charged. X 8cm plants received not good quality. 1xhanging basket received average quality, in greenhouse being brought on with TLC. 50% of orders yet to be received.

Ordered 6 potted tomato plants , only received 3 , which were rather battered . They are now recovering minus lots of their leaves ! I have emailed them twice with no response as yet . This experience has made me wary of ordering from Thompson and Morgan again.
