“Our house was fine other then some cosmetic issues and lack of upkeep (BBQ was so rusted it wouldn't light and was unusable/broken spindling on an upstairs patio etc..). Our experience with Top Villas was less then satisfactory however. We booked our place according to their interactive map on their website and found out only days before our vacation that the map was mislabeled and our actual rental was not even in the same resort but at a different one 10 miles away. There was also no introductory DVD or binder at our property so we were unsure of many things including which of the community pools we were able to use. I also found that the fees and extras added up to quite a bit compared to the price per night quoted. The pool was also much smaller then the website picture led us to believe but that in itself was not that big of a negative. We also paid $25 USD a day to heat our pool and realized that on our next to last day the guy that came to maintain the pool finally turned on the heat because the first 7 days te pool was barely tolerable for the kids and the adults didn't use it because it was so cold. Overall I probably wouldn't go with Top Villas when we book our next vacation due to our experience this time.”

Hi Shawn, Thank you for your review. I am so disappointed to hear of your less than satisfactory experience staying in one of our homes and I do apologise for the issues with the location being incorrect, this has now been updated on our website as well as the issue with the rusty BBQ and the outdoor staircase. With regards to our pricing structure, we, along with the majority of property managers and booking agents in the area like to be as transparent as possible when it comes to pricing therefore we split out the various fees so our guests can see exactly what they are paying for. With regards to the issue with the pool heating, I have checked through our inboxes and cannot see any correspondence from you during your stay. Had we known that the pool was very cold throughout your stay we would have investigated immediately and processed a refund for any days you were without this amenity. We would certainly not expect any of our guests to pay $25 a day for a service that they did not receive. I have sent across a personal email to you so we can get this refunded for you. “Everything was top notch!! Loved our villa and the Champions Gate community pool was a 10!!! Would absolutely recommend!! One suggestion: charge a little bit more and stock with tp, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher soap, paper towels & bar soap.”

Hi, Thank you very much for your kind review and for your suggestion to provide extra basics. At the moment, we provide all our guests with a starter pack of essentials such as toilet paper, trash bags and dish soap and it is then the responsibility of the guest to replenish these as they need during their stay. We also offer pre-arrival grocery packs for an additional charge which would include additional amounts of these essentials. “We were extremely pleased with home that we rented. Very well equipped. Kids spent hours in the pool when we were not sightseeing. Only negative comment was that the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced as some chairs were rusted out and could not be used. We spent a lot of time in the lanai and a bbq should have been included with rental and not an extra cost.”

I do apologise that the outdoor furniture was not in the best possible condition for your stay and have informed the homeowner so they can replace this for future guests. Regarding the BBQ, as all our homes are privately owned, it is at the discretion of each homeowner whether or not they wish to provide a complimentary BBQ to their guests. We do try our best to inform guests prior to their arrival if there will not be a BBQ at the home so we can offer the service of renting a BBQ for your stay. “The booking experience, the villa, and the location were all fantastic. There was constant and timely communication from the moment of booking through check in. However, the property for as big as it is and the ability to accommodate as many people as advertised, there weren’t enough basic necessities such as paper towels, toilet papers, etc., for the duration of our stay. We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so we bought some at the grocery store. Otherwise, wonderful experience.”

I did just want to clarify that all our properties are self-catering vacation homes and we provide all our guests with enough basics such as toilet paper, washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets to get started but it is then up to our guests to replenish these for the duration of their stay. “Nice place to stay. We stayed with Top Villas a couple of years ago and we like the location. It didn't seem as clean inside our condo and it was a little more run down than 2 years ago but it was a different unit. I would suggest putting at least 1 mirror in each bedroom. The bathroom rug was mildewed and needed to be washed with vinegar to get the odor out.”
