“I can not recommend your services in your Guatamala Branch. At all times (11 days) Tristan, the owner/manager of TERRA GUATEMALA, treated us rudely and accused us of having false expectations of our trip. He is unprofessional, deceiving, and irresponsible. We NEVER had the Tour Guide that we paid for, at our arrival the taxi was late, and we were abandoned by the taxi drivers in Ixpanpajul and Chichicastengo. His written communications presented grammar and typing errors. Daily we need the help of the front desk staff to help us understand what was supposed to be done. Tristan has no problem-solving skills or idea of what customer service is. His personal manners go parallel with this rudeness. The only thing that Tristan does is book hotels at double the regular rates. Tour Operator he is not. Terra Guatemala is not a Tourist Agency.”

“People write to you when they have a problem. This is not my case. I write because we fell in love with Jordan, thanks to our guide from Amman Emad Fraihat. He showed us the best Jordan has to offer. We learned a lot about rich Jordanian history and culture, the intricacies and interactions of 3 major religions and we went home enlightened with new knowledge because we had an excellent guide. I appreciate your efforts in keeping tourists of kingdom happy, many thanks from the bottom of my heart!”

“We booked our family honeymoon to Morocco with Travel Local and had the best holiday ever! The communication with our ground agent was so smooth. From the moment of planning our dream trip, to when we arrived in Marrakesh and then trhoughout our travels and at different destinations, we felt well looked after. We even got a call from the ground agent whilst we were staying in the mountains to say that they had called the next days driver to pick us up a little later so we could make the most of the morning in the mountains. Nice touches. The excursions and activities were spot on and our family favourite was definitely the cooking course in Marrakech, but then of course the Camel ride in the desert was pretty hard to beat too! We would recommend Travel Local to all our friends without hesitation. Thank you.”

“I booked a trip and was not told any penalties for cancellation. I canceled 7 days later and was not only charged a penalty but treated so rudely and accused of being a liar by the tour operator. Communications were unprofessional and difficult to read with all the typing and spelling errors. Maybe we just got a bad tour operator, but he was given to us by Travellocal, so I do not know what their vetting process is. We will look elsewhere for all our travel needs. Attached is just a small example of what I dealt with!”

We’re sorry that you had to cancel your group trip at short notice. Each of our local experts have Terms & Conditions stating that down payments are non-refundable, and gradually increase the closer it gets to the departure date. These have to be agreed to by travellers before any payment is made. Part of the reason they are non-refundable is because all accommodation, guides and experiences are arranged in advance. All of our partners are well-established local experts that have received TravelLocal training, but we are always looking for ways to improve and will feed your comments back to our team.

“Using this platform made our traveling around Argentina super easy. Transportation and all accommodations were set up ahead of time and didn’t have to worry about any planning. It was a great experience and wonderful way to travel to multiple cities and countries worry-free. Lujan helped create a wonderful itinerary based off what we were interested in doing and timeline. We also worked with Antonella after the itinerary was created who communicated frequently and was able to answer any question along the way. Both woman provided fantastic services and were quick to respond. They had exceptional customer service.”

“Egypt is the best destination. This was our second trip to this amazing country and we enjoyed it as much as our 1st trip. Our guide looked after us very well and even contacted our previous tour guide on our behalf. We felt very safe at all times and hope to return when the new museum opens”

“The Travel Local platform was easy to navigate. Lise was wonderful to work with. She was organized and knowledgeable. Lise's responses were timely using the Travel Local site. She made sure all our paper work was easy to understand which guided us everyday. We met on a Zoom call and it was delightful. Unfortunately, during our trip to the Christmas Markets in France, we experienced a medical emergency. Lise helped us the entire time, especially due to language barrier. She rearranged all that was necessary to make sure we were safe and could return home for medical treatment. I know Lise went above and beyond the call of duty. She really showed us much compassion during this time. I highly recommend Travel Local with Lise.”

“If I could give zero stars I would. First they messed up my arrival date, had me arriving a day earlier. Got to the hotel, found out that they didn’t change the reservation so they paid for a night I wasn’t even in the country and then the 3rd night of my stay wasn’t booked! When we checked in, our representative Omar, had us sit in the lobby while he sorted out the hotel reservations. Almost an hour later told us all was good he had sorted it out and we would be staying at the hotel for the 3 nights. Day 2. It was wonderful. Had an amazing guide Mahmoud. He picked us up, took us the pyramids and other places and we had a fantastic day. Beautiful clean van to drive us around all day Day 3- we had a scheduled pick up for 6:45am. Going to the desert and Oasis. 6:05 get a message car will be there at 6:15. Told them impossible we weren’t ready and pick up was confirmed the night before for 6:45. Finally a car shows up at 7:15. An old run down car. Omar got questioned by police at the hotel because private cars aren’t allowed in certain areas where tourists are, including hotels. Finally we get going only to now stop again on the side of a busy street and we are told to get out and get into another vehicle. This one was very scary. We opened the door, all the seats, steering wheels, gear shift were all covered in plastic. The vehicles and drivers were not like the day before. They had credentials around their neck and the vehicle was labeled with company logo. We refused to go, it was way too sketchy. Got taken back to the hotel, then it got even worse. Hotel tells us that Omar lied to us, the 3rd night did not get booked ( he told the hotel he would do it but never did). Now we had to pay $700USD to stay. Multiple calls and texts and nothing. Finally they offered me $300USD towards the cancelled day trip and $300USD towards the hotel. (Hotel was $700 a night). One whole day fighting with Sun Pyramid tours and the hotel wanting their money. Day 4. Time to get picked up to go to hotel. Instead of the beautiful big van that picked us up on arrival, we were picked up in the old crappy car from the day before. I paid $3450USD plus another $700USD for the unpaid hotel night) to have 2 full days of private guided tours and 3 nights in the a hotel with pick up to and from the airport. They completely ruined a trip I paid a lot of money for and had dreamed of for so long. Do not use this company!!”

“Just spent 2 1/2 weeks on the Amalfi coast, arranged by travel local and Dragonfly tours. We had excellent service both before our trip and during it. Tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. There was a perfect mix of free time and booked excursions. Our driver was amazing and the hotels were great. It was easy to arrange - it was all good.”

“I have a trip in less than three weeks to Egypt. I have paid money but can’t get anyone to provide an updated itinerary. I have no idea where we are staying, when our domestic flights are, times we are being picked up. I had a high-level itinerary and was told they couldn’t book the flights until I put money down. I did - now nothing. My travel agent isn’t responding after over a half dozen requests. I reached out to TravelLocal who said that they reached out to the agent- still nothing. They have our money and we don’t know what, if anything, that we have.”

Everything ran very smoothly from day to day. The guides at each destination communicated with each other to ensure the coordination and movement from place to place. “Through TravelLocal, we got an unforgettable holiday organized in Iceland. Having a UK travel agent was great and gave us peace of mind that the arrangements were all insured and protected (esp with all the Covid uncertainty). It also meant that we got connected with a reputable and sound local agent. The local rep (Saemi from Activity Iceland) had a terrific knowledge of the country, and he took time to understand what we wanted from a holiday and tailor an itinerary that suited us and our teenage boys (15 & 17). He had really good knowledge of the various attractions and the itinerary was well judged wrt timings, i.e. how long we would likely spend at each attraction and how long it would take us to travel between them. The hotels chosen by Saemi worked really well, especially Hotel Kria in Vik which had a games room which our boys enjoyed each evening. Among the many, many highlights of the trip were the horse riding on the black beach, zip-wiring in Vik, the lava show (fascinating!), the boat trips, the amazing scenery including gorgeous waterfalls and of course the fabulous food. The one hiccup we did have on the holiday was dealt with by the local rep, Saemi, brilliantly. We definitely recommend TravelLocal!”
