Great trip with good folk. Amazing catering (a three course meal each lunchtime and evening, tastily adapted for the gamut of dietary preferences of those on my trek... plus afternoon tea!) and a really informative, animated guide. Well organised by tucan in coordination with the local guides and porters. Recommended.

This was the 2nd tour I have done with Tucan and I enjoyed it very much and look forward to my next. I think it provides good value for money, removes all the hassle and is a well shaped itinerary. My only criticism is I would remove San Ignacio. The town is a dump (and really rather sketchy), there is nothing at all to do there but very expensive activities which aren't amazing and the hotel we stay at is in the middle of nowhere. Everyone would prefer a night or two on the Belize coast instead of here. I also think it would be great if you could have trips with more comfortable hotels. Most of the travelers on both of the tours I have done with you would have happily paid a bit extra for nicer hotels and I think it is a market you are missing. I do a lot of tours (at least a few a year) and this is something that a lot of other providers now do and they are very successful. I would also like to highlight how great Nancy was. My friend and I often wanted to do additional activities, try nicer restaurants etc and she was fantastic and so helpful. There were also a few pretty difficult and selfish girls who she really managed well to save them spoiling all our trips or causing any tension among the travelers. Thanks again Kylie

There was another person over 41 on this trip for 18-35 year olds. - But he would booked through the Australian office, not the UK office. I was told at booking as that as a special I can do it a few years after 35 and that I cannot go on another of these Budget Expeditions after reaching 40 years because it would break the Tucan terms and condtions. It was nearly my 40th birthday when this one ended. - But look half that.

My son and I went on the Japan Adventure Tour (JJA) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our Tour Leader - Bob (can't remember surname) was a knowledgeable host and although rushed at times ensured we saw all the interesting sites and informed us of other things in and around the areas visited. His role was to take us to places of interest as opposed to staying with the group each and every day. It was made clear to us where and when to meet when it was time to move on to a different location. We had a small group of 7 which was nice and we spent most of our time travelling around together but you have the option of doing your own thing if you choose to, I would recommend Tucan Tours and have already done so to friends and people I work with.

I not informed that I was to participate in cooking, cleaning and set up of camp prior to my trip. I found the quality of the food fairly poor. Example: the bread was often days old and once was even mouldy. Little variety of choice for breakfast and fruit supply was almost non existent. The leader knew very little about the country, customs etc so when we had a question, we were often left with no answers. This defeated the purpose of the trip. Our leader was sleeping most of the time while driving and made clear that she was not a guide. I've done quite a bit of traveling and overall this has been my worst experience.

Hi Jessie, I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your Tucan Travel Overland Tour. Our group tours in Africa are advertised as being semi-participatory and many people enjoy the atmosphere and community spirit around the campsite of cooking and cleaning together. Our tour leaders receive significant training and support in order to work for Tucan Travel so it is disappointing to read that you felt that your tour leader did not perform to the best of their ability. Previous feedback on this tour leader has been of a consistently high standard however we will ensure that they receive further training in the areas you mentioned. Please do get in touch with feedback@tucantravel.com if you have any further comments. Kind regards, Jess @ Tucan Travel

Have been impressed with Tucans itinerary and office staff but some of their CEO need more training. Would like to see more local CEO's.

This trip was one of the best I've been on. Travelled twice with Tucon before and also with other Adventure Companies. There were a lot of new things to see, and experience. The value was very good, and the guide and driver were well focussed on customer satisfaction. Incidentally my best ever guide was Bischel Chalming on your Indian circuit. The experience of this year makes me a very likely candidate four future Tucon tours

I have travelled with Tucan Travel several times in the last four years. While I prefer their Overland Tours my wife prefers their Adventure Tours. Both forms of travel have been excellent in organisation, destinations, optional activities, experienced guides and value for money. I have already booked Myanmar and Japan with my wife and South America Overland Tour next February.

I traveled from Warsaw, Poland to Dubrovnik. It was a great trip-plenty of variety including cities and scenic countryside. Brian (group leader) was awesome! He gave great orientation walks and suggestions to do while in locations. Travel arrangements were on-time -some public and private buses, as well as trains. Hotels/hostels were always in great locations-although some were better quality than others. Breakfast was included most days and food choices were plentiful. Overall, great value!

Great Holiday. just want too pleased though with the first Hotel rep in Cairo and it was the same sentiment with the rest of the group as he kept asking for more tips and wasn't pleasant. Thanks

On our first trip this year, we felt that Tucan had definitely improved from our first experience approx. seven years ago! The 2 subsequent tours however suggest otherwise. On the + side, accommodation is good as is the available transportation and general organization. Tucan office staff are all good to deal with. Areas to improve; a Tour Leader can make or break a tour! For the new leaders, it seems that either it's just a means for them to get free travel or the training is not sufficient. They seem to know the Tucan policies and procedures but have little local history or knowledge and don't seem that customet focused or interested! Also a native/local Tour Leader is preferable, from our experience. The published itineraries also tend to overstate/embellish the activities or are very vague.
