Tried it once to see what all the hype was all about - never again. Stick with the companies.

As a host, something goes wrong Turo doesn’t take responsibility for it. Be prepared to get stiff with tickets and ran ezpass tolls/fees. My car was hit by a Turo car less than 3 months ago and because the driver let a person drive not on agreement it became my problem to sue!

We rented a car for them to cancel an hour before with no refund for a week. We are having to fork out even more than the original amount with no form of compensation. Avoid!

Turo is the worse company in ever to exist. I advised them and showed proof of picking up car later than scheduled and I brought back before the 24 time hour time frame They charged me late fee even though showed roof. I appeal it and they said still didn’t follow late cancellation. Worst customer service and company as I unfortunately notice with all the bad reviews. I never leave a review but hopefully people will see all the bad reviews and not rent from them I am canceling my service and will never use them again Turo sucks

I feel compelled to share my extremely disturbing experience with Turo to warn others about the risks of using this platform. I rented two vehicles through Turo, and both were in deplorable condition. The first car I rented had a nail in the tire. When I contacted the car owner about it, they told me to simply "add air" and continue my trip. This is completely unacceptable, especially when it comes to something as important as a tire. But the real nightmare began with the second vehicle. While driving, the tire on the second car fell off entirely. This was not only terrifying but incredibly dangerous. The car swerved, and I narrowly avoided falling off a mountain cliff on a narrow, single-lane road. To make matters worse, this happened at night, in the rain, in a desolate area with no phone signal. I was stranded in an unsafe place, with the nearest town being two hours away. I was forced to stay in this isolated, hazardous area, putting myself at risk of further harm. During this time, cars were nearly hitting me as I tried to move the car to the side of the road—this situation was literally a matter of life and death. Despite following all instructions from both Turo and the car owner, I was blamed and held responsible for the damages. The tire issue, which should never have happened in the first place, was clearly due to the owner’s negligence in maintaining the car. Turo’s response to my concerns was dismissive and unhelpful, providing no meaningful support when I needed it most. Turo claims to be a platform for renting cars, but they clearly do not prioritize the safety of their customers. Instead of holding the owner accountable for renting a clearly unsafe vehicle, they placed the burden on me. I will be seeking legal advice and sharing my experience with news outlets to expose how dangerous and negligent Turo’s practices can be. I strongly advise against using this service if you value your safety. There are far safer and more responsible car rental options out there. Turo needs to drastically improve its vetting process and ensure that the cars on its platform are safe and properly maintained.

So basically it’s designed so that the host always wins kind of like the house it doesn’t matter if they’re lying or not if they want to say that you should be charged for half a day you’re gonna be charged for half a day and since they have access to your damn card, they’re gonna freaking do it not to mention they’re gonna take their cut so let’s say your charge $30 for half a day that you didn’t take half a day with the vehicle. You returned it on time and they say you didn’t so you’re charged for half a day at $30 Toro also intern is gonna charge you $30 as well so you end up paying $60 for nothing

Turo is a complete scam run by cowboys, designed to rip people off with fraudulent claims and extortionate charges. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. They falsely accused me of damaging a vehicle I rented, despite my providing photographic evidence showing there was no damage when I returned it. Their so-called “inspections” rely on unreliable photos, and their estimates are inflated beyond belief—a clear attempt to cheat customers. When challenged, they ignored my queries, tried unauthorized withdrawals from my account, and sent threatening letters to pressure me into paying for damage I didn’t cause. This company operates with no accountability and seems to target customers in vulnerable situations to scam them out of money. Their delays in communication, contradictory statements, and reliance on fake evidence show they are nothing but scammers. I am taking Turo to court for their fraudulent actions. If you have been a victim of Turo’s scams, please contact me, and let’s stand together to claim our money back from these crooks. Save yourself the stress and avoid Turo at all costs. They are a disgraceful company preying on innocent customers.

Absolutely ridiculous. #1. Their cut on your car rental is extortionate. #2. I unlisted my car. They relisted it anyway and I had a surprise visitor. #3. I cancelled the reservation. They said I needed to attend a webinar before theyw would relist is. OK Great. I never attended the seminar. They relisted the car anyway. #4. Another unscheduled un-notified guest showed up. #5. I closed my account. These people are idiots. Get a standard rental car. Turo is a waste of time and effort.

Turo is the worst company to every rent a car from. By all means NEVER use there service I wish I had read the reviews before I rented from them. Turo said I damaged a car I had in my passion, I did not take pictures of the car upon pick up . PLEASE TAKE PICTURES OF THE CAR BEFORE PICKUP AND AFTERWARD DROP OFF because if you don't you will be sorry. You have been warned.

Book my reservation on turo 3 weeks before my trip and pre paid. The day of, they denied me a rental. No one in the entire company could tell me why I was denied. Also they only communicate by live chat or email. Ask for a refund and they refund only 75% of my money. I ended up having to get a rental from enterprise that day. Turo is really really bad and over priced

Turo is an Absolute Disaster – Avoid at All Costs If I could give zero stars, I would. Renting with Turo was the single WORST decision of our entire trip, and their customer service is a complete joke. Here’s what happened: Our rental car broke down in the middle of a busy Las Vegas boulevard—completely dead. After spending almost 8 hours on the phone with their so-called "assistance," the best they could do was offer a Lyft to get us from Vegas to LA the next morning (not what we wanted but whatever, we were desperate). Morning comes, and surprise, surprise—NO DRIVER was willing to take the ride because it was too far. We were stranded, my friend had a flight to catch in LA that evening, and Turo’s “support” left us completely on our own. We had to spend MORE money on Ubers, book a last-minute car from a REAL rental company, and hope for the best. All this while panicking, stressed out, and furious. And guess what? It’s been a week since we emailed them with every single receipt and detail of what we went through. Not a single refund. Not an ounce of help. NOTHING. Just silence. Turo RUINED our vacation. They left us stranded, ignored our complaints, and refuse to take responsibility for their incompetence. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and honestly dangerous—because what if this had happened somewhere remote or less accessible? Save yourself the headache, stress, and money. Do NOT trust Turo with your travel plans. Ever. I’ll be posting this review EVERYWHERE until they stop ignoring us and refund every penny we wasted because of their failure.

Never rented the vehicle, never completed the rental process to confirm. Was charged, Turos receipt states refund, but never was refunded. Owner says nothing he can do, even though he admitted I didn't rent the vehicle.

Long story short, got a bad experience first time first day due to HOST. Pictures uploaded I booked for a month, paid $1300 (rounded) with insurance as it’s mandatory peace of mind for both host and renter. 24hrs prior to pick up, you must upload driver’s license and selfie for host to also review/approve. Allllll this time I already uploaded this document, host cancelled on my way to pick up. I spent money on Uber, from then back plus the money I spent is held, refunded and available 3-5 business days so I’m out $1400 Mind you I messaged host the first day I booked showing how excited I was about this experience as a friendly message, and updated host through the entire process. You can see they read the message, just deliberately choose not to answer. That says a lot about what kind of person the host is. Turo reps also confirmed Host received multiple bookings but also got cancelled “ invalid cancellation “ they say. Host lives 10mins away from me so we both live in a nice area but seems like the host is profiling people in a bad way. Karma is all!!!

I do not have an issue with the hosts. I have only had 1 bad host however I would encourage anyone who has a major credit card to rent from one of the major car rental companies. Turo is a sub prime car rental agency. Unfortunately, having been unemployed and filing bankruptcy companies like Turo takes advantage of those like me who needs to rent a car but might not have or no longer have a major credit card. Turo charges about the same price for their trip fee as the host charges for the trip price causing the cost of the rental to automatically double and that is not including insurance and taxes. DO NOT RENT FROM TURO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TOO!!!!! On average a 2 day car rental would cost approximately 70.00-80.00.
