We had a trip booked for Douro Valley but my husband woke with food poisoning that morning. I asked if I could move the trip to another day and was told there was no availability until after our stay ended, which was untrue. They refused to compromise and were totally inflexible. We missed a much anticipated tour and lost £208.

In late September, 2023. we did the 6 hour Milan City Tour. It was outstanding. The tour guide woman was very knowledgeable. We are an older couple and she was super nice is accommodating us. Bruce & Myra. Thank you. Washington, DC.

Beware when booking a tour with Viator. I had a tour booked and arrived near the meetup location before the tour was to start but there was a race going on and I wasn’t able to cross over at any point to get to the exact meetup point. I tried to contact the tour operator and even called the number on the booking which was out of service! I ended up having to call the main Viator number and even their customer service couldn’t get in contact with the tour operator! I put in for a refund request due to these unforeseen circumstances and the fact that I was there and could have easily met up with the tour at the destination if they had contacted me as they say on there website they will if you have any issues but they really don’t do that!! Beware before you book with this service!!

We had 3 people booked in an October 7, 2023 tour. I modified the booking on their website on September 19, 2023 to two people. It was clearly modified and visible. The day before the tour I confirmed with the tour company, two people. They had no record of it and the tour guide said it’s ok , don’t worry. (Famous last words). I looked and my account says tour for 3 people. What happened? Now it is my word against theirs….Viator will not refund my $179 and the tour company “ Go See Italy” says it is not their problem. I have been a long time client……. But no more. No refund given!

I have long COVID after contracting the virus 5 weeks and accidentally booked the wrong day due to brain fog. I explained this to the customer service department but it made no difference to the response, even though I merely asked them to change the day, so not a refund; they would do neither. I was going to book more trips out whilst in the Amalfi area, but given the total lack of customer service I would never touch this company again. They are worldwide and so are not a cash strapped little organisation, so they can afford to give a good service; clearly they deliberately choose not to. My advice is say well clear of this company, as you will only be as annoyed as I was if something goes wrong with booking

Horrible customer experience. Well in advance, we booked a 3 day 2 night tour in Iceland, with repeated confirmations. We arrived in Iceland, ready to start tour early next morning, and late afternoon learned that the tour operator cancelled the tour. While we got our trip refunded, we were left in the lurch. Had a great deal of stress and ended up needing to book 2 additional nights accommodations and 2 day trips (instead of 3), at a total cost of $852 over the refunded amount. I provided Viator all the information requested and they ignore us complelely. Horrible service!!!

We are in Spain on holiday. We booked a tour through Viator. The local tour company told us they had no confirmation from Viator when we arrived for the tour. We did have a confirmation from Viator. So when we contacted Vistor, they had untrained staff incapable of resolving the issue. Already six hours, no tour, no admission of guilt by either company. Waste of an entire day. Total b.s

This company is a total scam. They show their 100% guarantee knowing your booking stuff that is last minute only to tell you that because you book last minute you are not eligible for a refund. Had a cruise that was delayed and we were not able to make the tour booked and in turn we were not refunded. I would look elsewhere or make sure you book with your American Express so you can process a chargeback on their fraud.

Went on an amazing your today with Anna, and Constructours but booked through Viator. I travel solo and Anna sat me behind her so that we could talk if I wanted to and ensured that I did not feel left out at all. We went on a trip to the Blue Lagoon which was beautiful and to a winery and several other stops. Anna was very well informed about the island and the tour was run with clockwork but relaxed efficiency. Sorry don't know how to leave pictures, but if you come to Cyprus go on this trip, it is well worth it.

My husband and I used to be loyal Viator customers -- that has changed now that I actually needed their help. They do absolutely nothing to help their customers in a jam. We've been using them solely since 2016 for all our vacations, often for multiple tours on one vacation. I had an issue on my most recent trip and requested a refund. They did nothing to help me -- needless to say no refund, and not even a credit to use with them in the future. They decided to keep my $300 to themselves, and lose out on future hundreds, as we will never book another tour through Viator. With all the competition they now have that wasn't really there when we first started using them (there's now AirBnB excursions, Expedia excursions, etc.), you'd think they'd try a little harder to satisfy and retain customers.

I am in paris with my son, asked him to book a boat to go around the tour Eiffel, he paid, money was taken from his checking acct, he never received the tickets on the email so we had to buy tickets again and spend the double. We haven’t get a refund yet and probably never will

I rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but my recent experience with this company has compelled me to share my frustrations. While life is full of complexities and unforeseen obstacles, it seems that this company has absolutely no tolerance for any of those nuances.I made a simple, honest mistake while booking tickets for an event. Despite recognizing the error almost immediately, their rigid system locked me out from making any corrections within an hour of the event time. To make matters worse, I had work commitments that made it impossible for me to attend the event at all.When I reached out for some form of resolution, I was met with an unyielding adherence to policy, with zero room for exceptions. Not only was I informed that I would need to forfeit the full ticket price, but I was also told that I would be charged a late fee for not attending the event, adding insult to injury.It's unfortunate that the company chooses to stick to their rules so blindly without considering unique circumstances that their customers might be facing. This lack of flexibility and basic human understanding has ensured that I won't be using their services again, and I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before committing to a company that doesn't seem to care about them.

Local tour company didn’t pick us up at the agreed place. Driver made no effort to find us 50 meters away. Viator would not issue a refund. Stay away from them

Purchase tours for both London and Paris is was the worst decision of my life. Viator buys tickets from a 3rd party company which in turns buys them directly with the company or place you are visiting. By the time you get your tickets Viator and the vendor will all their fees and charges. Example 3 people skip the line Eiffel Tower tickets were $70 with Viator they were $130 and then no one shows up to give them to you so I ended spending another $70 to enter the summit with my Family. Tours that are all walking and not on a bus as you expect (Rain or Shine) for hours and hours only to show you a section that could of been covered with a cab driver in 1/4 the time. Drivers were smelly, late for hours at a time, misleading tour information, Lied about what we were getting vs what actually took place, tickets that are never issued or people don't show up to give you the entrance tickets. I could of done 100 times better purchasing them there with out the 40 to 50% mark up that they pocket. You can book these tours while there from your Hotel or hire Local drivers and you will have a private experience vs being part of a cattle run that they mistreat. TRUST ME DONT USE THEM read all the complaints about them not showing up with tickets or people not getting what they paid for. Talk to your Hotel, Local drivers and buy tickets at the location trust me you will save lots of $$$ and precious vacation time.

This is my experience with them…my family and I just returned from a Mediterranean Cruise and booked a tour with Viator for a private French Riviera tour from Port Villefranche. The morning of the tour I was first in line at 5:30am to get tickets for the tender. I wanted to ensure we were on the first tender because it departed at 7:30am and our tour was scheduled to start at 9am. At 6:30am, we were informed that due to the weather, it would be unsafe to launch the tenders so we would not be able to leave the ship. I managed to contact someone from Viator at 8am through the chat function of their web site and explained the situation. They informed me that since the tour was not cancelled before the 24hr period, that it would be up to the local operator. I was just notified that they will not be issuing a refund. You can decide for yourself if that is reasonable or not. I’m just providing you with the facts.

Save your money & keep away from Viator. In our case we booked a tour in Singapore but for some reason we could not get the E-ticket from Viator. We contacted Viator several times before the event asking them to email us the tickets - nothing arrived. When I spoke to the ticket office at the attraction they said - it is a common problem for people not to receive their tickets from Viator. We ended up buying entry tickets again onsite. I have since contacted Viator numerous times (providing proof of additional purchase) & seeking a refund. Viator have come back with many "flowery" replies on how they value good customer service - it is all BS. No refund. Stay well clear of Viator- they are crooks.

Due to high winds, it was unsafe for our cruise ship to dock which meant we could not do our tour. That would be considered a weather-related cancellation by any company in the world - except Viator apparently. It was bad enough that we missed the port we were most excited to see, but also having Viator keep our money when weather kept us from doing the excursion was really unfair. I am telling everyone I know to never use Viator if they are on a cruise until they change their policy.

Lousy Company horrible Customer service charge us $500 for Eiffel Tower tour just to change the time of the tour and not NOTIFY us and NOT refund the money, stay far away from this company! THIEVESS

We made a Tijuana taco hopping tour with our tour guide Tadeo who was extremely fun and very knowledgeable. It was so fun and I did not once get bored with this tour! Kudos to Tadeo! Great tour guide!

Horrible service..the customer comes last for those guys. Once they habe your money say farewell to it. Yet please use bank chargebacks to get your funds if you feel you were treated unfairly.
