“The stay was absolutely lovely! The team are so friendly and helpful we couldn’t fault one of them. The food in the restaurant was amazing and quick service. Lodges were very clean and the hot tubs were amazing. We had a few problems with the patio doors but staff were very prompt to come and fix them on 3 occasions. There was also a few small issue with the lodge which was the lamp in one of the bedrooms was stained and didn’t work and there was a small hole In the wall it didn’t effect us so we didn’t mind and we made reception aware and they was so helpful.”

“The location is good.but the instructions on how to get there are wrong.Once in the site there are no signposts to reception. We were disappointed there were no Riverside walks without taking a charged for ferry.The elan disposal site marked on the plan they gave us was not there.and building works for a new harbour side were in progress..But the pub food was superb and very friendly staff”

“Lodge was clean and comfortable, every member of staff we met were polite, friendly and helpful. Meal at the Waveney Inn very good. There was a problem with the hot tub but this was sorted out very quickly . Lovely midweek break, Thank you.”

“Lovely peaceful location & views from oulton penthouse. Accommodation needs some refurb&tlc - saggy creaky bed mattress, dodgy patio doors, tired lounge chairs , leaky sink/radiator/loo. Pilot day boat was quite basic , noisy engine, stiff steering, no windscreen wipers, dirty WC. Waveney inn takeaway food used twice v.good.”

“Everything was fine,just the frying pan was dirty and old we couldn’t use it,and if there was gas bbq to hire it was perfect.but we really enjoyed it nice and clean ,perfect view ,nice hot tub and they checked it everyday.We definitely will come back.”

“Our first break since restrictions have been lifted slightly. We had a lovely relaxing weekend and felt very safe on the site. All of the staff that we encountered were so friendly and helpful. We hired a day boat and went out for the day this was straight forward and very enjoyable we also ate at the outside seating in the restaurant twice both meals were perfect and again organisation very good. We ordered takeaway delivery to our lodge this came quickly and was lovely and hot. We ventured off site to Redwings and Africa Alive both very enjoyable visits. We would definitely return to Waveney and have already looked to see what's available”

“A lovely stay but was really put off by the extreme waiver you have to sign before arrival. Did not make for a welcoming start to the holiday & made you fearful that you were constantly going to do something wrong throughout your stay. An awful lot of rules & regulations around the accommodation-including you are not allowed to put glasses in the dishwasher, which I found absolutely bizarre! You are also asked to sign in the disclaimer that your hot tub may not be up to temperature on the first night & you cannot complain. I thought this unreasonable for a 3 night stay, as it happened the hot tub was perfect but I think it’s an unreasonable ask when you have paid additional extra for a hot tub & then they make you sign a disclaimer that you are not able to complain or they won’t give you access to the accommodation.”

“Great location with views of the marina and nature reserve. Our lodge was comfortable and the hot tub was heated for our arrival. The pub delivered food the first night and we had breakfast on our last day, which was very good. Lovely break with kids and dog!”

“A lovely, peaceful setting on the River Waveney, great facilities and organised really well for a weekend away while social distancing restrictions are still in place. We loved it and the kids are talking about when we can go back.”

“Although we visited with covid restricted measures in place, we had an amazing time. Really helpful staff in such a great setting with plenty to see and do. Can’t wait to return and enjoy again in the near future”

“We had one night with you over the Bank Holiday in our Motorhome to join our friends on their 41 foot plus boats who moored with you for £20 a night who just had electric. To charge us £37 for one night also just using electric was way too high and certainly not justified. We’ve mentioned this to a few people and they couldn’t believe the charge. Unfortunately unlikely we’d stay again.”

“Not that great out of season with no facilities and ferry not working. Couldn’t find water points, washing up area grubby (despite no tents). It could have been lovely but it felt tired; I’m sure when the season gets underway and restrictions are lifted it will have a completely different feel. Also, if the ferry was working we could have enjoyed some beautiful walks. We had just come from a superb site in Leiston where everything was spot on and clearly pride was taken in every aspect, so the comparison was unfavourable. I did enjoy the peace and quiet, but we would have liked some local knowledge on walks without the need to take the motorhome out down the single track lanes to get anywhere. I would come again, but only when the facilities are fully open and the ferry working. The staff were very friendly, but the site does seem to lean more towards lodges and boating.”

“Bluebell Lodge lovely and very clean and comfortable with a good heating system for the chilly April weather we have experienced Loved the hot tub which was checked daily by Sam who was pleasant , courteous and had a wealth of knowledge re the local area Maintenance was very good on site any issue was dealt with promptly Disappointed the foot ferry wasn’t operating WiFi poor but a lovely relaxing holiday”
