Lovely holiday park, we stayed in Heronfleet lodge which was excellent. The whole family including the dog thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely warm pool which we booked twice and had to ourselves. Good breakfast at the restaurant which were able to enjoy outside. Would definitely return.

Stayed in the Ellingham Lodge, all lovely and clean with the exception of the quilt on the double bed it was stained and had dog hairs on it. Also the kettle is a health and safety risk, it is one you boil on the had job, it gets so hot on the handle that you need to hold it with a oven glove and the handle is not rigid. Bit disappointed that the river does not run closer to the lodges end of the site. The tents and motor homes get to red enjoy that view for only £22 per night. No bottled water in the shop and very minimal supplies. Restaurant was good value for your money although menu choices a bit minimal

We enjoyed our stay with you, however we did feel that the pitch wasn’t very well kept as it had lots of dips/holes. The swimming pool was fab. We did have noisy neighbours on Saturday night, when we have stayed before we have been asked to be quiet at 10, however they had music playing out very loud until gone 11, which was disturbing to our children and us. Overall though we did have a lovely stay 🙂

We come here every year for a short break. We love coming here as it’s so clean and peaceful. The toilet facilities are spot on! We normally camp in our tent but this year we decided to try a yurt and we were not disappointed. The bed was really comfortable and everything made our weekend break so enjoyable. We come here every year and will continue.

Pitch was a nice size and well located. Check in was disorganised as signage directed us to Reception and we were then directed back to pool area. As there is a designated spot to park for campers checking in the signage in that area should have directed us to the Pool reception. Ferry is nice and we had a great day walking in the Nature Reserve. Also worth visiting St Mary's church just down the lane. Meal in the Waveney Inn was ok but overpriced for an overdone burger patty with miniscule tomato and lettuce. All the staff were lovely. Literature is confusing and contradictory - please do not arrive before 12. Check in from 1pm. One way roads that are not one way as pitches have been added at the end. All in all a satisfactory stay but some attention to detail would improve the rating.

Clean site overlooking marina. Paid for a supersize premium kingfisher pitch, but not suitable for caravan and awning (front of awning in bushes so couldn't open) road to and from centre is NOT suitable for towing Caravans it is a single track road with limited very small passing places. Facilities on site eg toilets and showers clean. Shop is overpriced and not well stocked. If we'd realised the pitches were so small and the very narrow road leading to the centre we wouldn't have booked. The centre should make people aware of the poor access route.

Great place for campers and boaters alike, and the Lodges are the bee's knees1 The pub-grub is excellent and staff throughout the site keep up a good level of service, in spite of Covid restrictions. For hire day-boats are a cut above most we've used at other places. We really enjoyed our week there.

Just spent a lovely, relaxing week here. Loved the lodge and hot tub and would definitely recommend hiring a boat for the day. Special mention for the reception staff who were excellent, very helpful.

Unfortunately my review is not good. Although the lodge I stayed in inside was quite nice, outside it was not so good, the hotub was not in a nice place, overlooking plenty of weeds. The whole centre was very scruffy with large weeds everywhere and just looked liked it needed a good clean and tidy up. The picture of the lodges and overall centre online are nothing like what you see for real. The Waveney Tavern was terrible, again scruffy and quite dirty, we went there the first night expecting to get a drink and a meal at 7.00pm to be told that we could not have a meal as they did not have enough staff to cook the food !! So we had to go to Morrisons and cook for ourselves, not something you really want to do on the first night of your break! There is not enough to do at this centre, the swimming pool is small so we didn't even bother going you simply have to drive everywhere to get some entertainment. unless you want to go on the broads. Even the boats that you hire out looked grubby!! So sorry folks, for the money I paid I was not impressed and will be returning nor recommending to friends!

Pitches for caravans (Heron) very small and cramped…no where to sit outside your unit. Good toilets and showers. The site itself is a long way from the main road (approx 6 miles - 2.5 miles of this is single track). Pray you don’t meet another caravan on the way in/out! No security at site entrance. The setting on the riverside is nice and the walk from the other side of the river to Oulton Broad (approx 3 miles) is lovely (ferry from site across the river to access walk). There are not really any other walks from the site unless you walk down the road. If you like canoeing, paddle boarding etc. this site is great….best to have your own though as they only hire canoes. All in all we enjoyed our stay but would only recommend a few nights here as too far off the beaten track.

The centre is close in miles i.e Lowestoft to some nice places but to drive to them is a trek unfortunately, not your fault however the website should make this clear to avoid disappointment. Not much to do in the area so was a letdown. But the most disappointing aspect of our visit made us leave with two nights remaining. Even though we handed the keys back days early no one even bothered to call us or see if we were ok. We certainly were not. On our first night we decided to eat at the Inn. We hadn’t booked. We decided to see if they would take us anyway. We greeted the waitress (short with blonde hair) at the door nicely. She asked if we had booked. We said we hadn’t. The restaurant was probably at 15% occupancy. She said sorry we have to have a booking. My girlfriend then asked politely, “even if we are staying?” The girl rolled her eyes and trundled off saying that she needed to check with the kitchen. Another waitress (tall with black hair) arrived, dressed in black and said can she help, we asked for a table. She said that’s fine. I laughed a bit, thinking the two of them hadn’t talked and was wondering why one would say yes but the other didn’t. They had talked. The girl rudely said that the other girl had to check with the kitchen and that I’d been rude to her colleague. At that point my blood boiled and I asked her what she had just said. She said that we had been rude to her to which my partner replied saying words to the effect of ‘I only asked her do we need to book even if we’re staying here!’ This immediately alienated us and we walked out absolutely shell shocked at the ridiculous, petty and flakey way we had been treated. We drove into town and found a pub happy to have the custom. Never ever been treated like this before. To be accused of rudeness when it was your staff that were rude is incomprehensible. It meant we couldn’t go to the Inn anymore so the stay was pointless and we left the next morning. The day we left was my partner’s birthday so to try and salvage some of the day, I ended up booking somewhere else which resulted in spending more money than expected! The tick box waivers you make everyone sign beforehand was a very poor introduction to what should be a relaxing break away and an indicator of the pompous nature of your team. We expect an appropriate response (not an automated response) and some money back as we spent enough to holiday here and ended up only spending one night.

All the staff we had contact with were very helpful and pleasant. Our hotel room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, a very good size bathroom and was cleaned every day which was a nice surprise in these Covid times. The site was well run and quiet. The only minor criticism was that there was no additional information about places to visit, or to eat at locally, especially as we were aware that there were restrictions within your own restaurant, however, this may have been because of Covid restrictions. Our family, who were camping ,were delighted with the campsite and the facilities. We all agreed that we would be very happy to stay again.

Very dissappointed with our stay and lack of managerial support, especially since you left your innexperienced staff to deal with a catalogue of problems. From our arrival with our friends (Mr&Mrs Hickson) on the Friday we had made long journeys to Waveney and were looking forward to a relaxing evening at the Waveney Inn which is positively portrayed on your website. Having ordered our first round of drinks, the young girl tipped the tray of drinks over us at the outside table. Clearly an accident, but having dried ourselves we settled in to replaced drinks and asked to see menus to order evening meals only to be told that unless we had already booked, we could not be accomodated unless we ordered from your take-away menu. We are all in our 60's and being offered pizzas or cheesy chips falls well short of our expectations. we were at this stage all for leaving on the next day, our wives upset with the facilities given your remote location. Your reception staff will confirm. On Saturday, we had took the ferry and walked in to Oulten and made sure we had a substantial meal. We repeated this on Sunday, on both occassions having to use a taxi cab to return us back to your site, given we are all pensioners. At this point please understand we had no issue with the accomodation, two of us stayed in Earlsham lodge the other two in hotel. On the Monday morning, bearing in mind two of us are paying separately for breakfast, we were in for another bad experience. The 'chef' as your waiting staff described him, was no more a chef than me, but at least I can cook a full english breakfast ensuring serving at an even temperature. But no, we were treated to mixed cold and extremely hot food and toast that took over an hour to arrive (no exaggeration) being toasted on one side only. After spending 1 3/4 hours in your restaurant for breakfast, we could not wait to leave. Again, your reception staff were advised of our negative experience and we left under the assurance that we will be contacted by someone in authority. Again we were left dissapointed as no contact was made with us. We understood from your team that there were staff shortages but clearly if you are happy to take our money you are duty bound to provide the advertised facilites. I reiterate, we were all happy with the accomodation offered but we have all incurred additional costs in having to make alternative arrangements to eat in Oulten. If you were in our position as pensioners, we hope you agree we should be entitled to compensation as you have mis-represented the dining facilites on offer. Your catering staff were left with no managerial support to deal with problems as they occured. Over to you !!
