This is our third time at Waveney but first time we’ve stayed in an escape pod. It was very clean and cosy and loved that it had a tv in it too and a heater If needed. So much storage space which was great for the 4 of us. We were lucky to get 2 swimming slots and found the pool area to be very clean. Unfortunately the changing rooms weren’t open as yet but that was fine for us. This time we were unable to boom for a meal at the Waveney inn but understand how busy this time of year is. It won’t be the last time we visit Waveney and recommend anyone to pay them a visit ! Happy glamping / camping 😃

This place has so much potential but nobody seemed to care about the place, bar closing at half 8, no bookings in the restaurant, had to be quiet by 10pm, which most people weren't which is fine as on hols. Had to be off the pitch by 11am, tent was barely dry, 1pm would be better, then new arrivals at 2pm. Had to order food to be delivered or drive to Beccles as you can only do so many bbqs. Won't be back!

Hi. Unfortunately due to a positive COVID test within our party we had to leave after 2 days so can’t leave extensive review of site. But from what I saw seemed nice enough. I will however leave an honest review of the accommodation. When we booked the holiday, the website stated luxury accommodation snd were led to believe lodges refurbished for 2021. We paid £2144 for the chedgrave lodge. 20 yrs ago this lodge could probably be classed as luxurious, not now. Within the first few hours of been there I had to report a fallen curtain rail, loose shower screen, kettle riddled with lime scale and poor storage in the fridge. Too be fair all were dealt with immediately so I’ve got no complaints there. All in all the accommodation just wasn’t up to standard. Interior extremely tired and dated and outdoor area not much better. Over grown vegetation making lodge and Veranda area very dark. Outside table was damaged from what looked like someone had put a bbq on it and decking area could do with a good jet wash. I appreciate times are hard with cleaning schedule due to COVID, but I fear 18 months ago this lodge would be in same state. I will finish on a positive. We were kindly refunded money we’d paid for a boat we couldn’t use due to leaving early. I know you weren’t obliged to do that so thank you.

Great stay at Waveney. We stayed in Leam lodge, spotlessly clean and great facilities in the lodge. Only one small critique was not enough hot water and second shower was permanently cold. Location of Waveney is extremely remote which was very relaxing however the website I think could be clearer how far you are from any form of eatery / major shop. The pub on site was closed Wednesday, offered no take away service and was full the rest of our stay? Huge missed opportunity for business considering Covid and also very difficult for residents who don’t want to cook every night. We were informed on check in delivery site Just Eat operates to the park but they do not so you absolutely need to be prepared. Pool and park facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade but again spotless and great fun, also very well controlled still limiting capacity, we felt very safe. Hiring a boat was superb - the service we received was incredible and again the boat was extremely clean and Covid safe. Great stay overall but could do with a bit of fine tuning. Had a blast of a holiday and thanks for looking after us.

Pub very limited and not serving food at all on Wednesday. Could do with more kayaks and boats to hire. Ice cream kiosk closed. Website said to book swimming at reception but people were also booking over the phone so we missed out on day 1.

The setting is lovely, yurts are spacious and beds very comfortable. The downside is and we feel you are really missing a trick is the restaurant and shop. We expected more suitable local produce to be available in the shop. As for the the restaurant, the opening times are very disappointing, why is it closed on a Wednesday???.also why were we told at lunch time Tuesday that it was fully booked on that evening, yet when we walked past at about 7 o’clock it was empty!!! The menu choices were also disappointing and our meals weren’t that good. The staff are very friendly but seem young and inexperienced. It’s a shame as you could a little gold mine there.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. We booked nearly a year in advance, on booing we spoke at length to the booking team about our needs as we had a disabled child a large twin axle caravan and full awning. We where assured that the Kingfisher 6s was a super pitch and very large to accommodate the unit we had. on arrival we where shocked at the size. Once the van was squeezed in up against the hedge on one side and touching the hedge at the back we could erect the awning. This left NO outdoor space at all, nowhere to house a small table or even a chair as the awning was about 1.5 ft from the hedge the other side. On further investigation with North Norfolk council and photographer and measurements we believe you are breaching the rules layed down. We are going to send the evidence we gathered in regards to those breaches. We spoke to reception on arrival as we couldn't park the car on the pitch as the van was to long and we wanted to ask if we could park it on the grass opposite. We where told no but a duty manager would come and have a chat with us, no one came, we asked again the next day and again told someone would come up, no one came, we then gave up.

This is the second visit to Waveney River Center, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay again this time. Camping pitches are clean and maintained, toilet/shower blocks are extremely clean and tidy, thanks to the cleaning staff, but there is a need for maintenance to the whole site as buildings and facilities are showing wear and tear since we were last here over two years ago. Having the use of the swimming pool is an added reason for staying here, and even with the current restrictions it works really well. Overall stay was excellent, can't wait to be back next year, hopefully some maintenance would of been completed.

Excellent site with modern clean facilities and lots of water based activity…just like it says on the tube. A little far to civilisation if you are waking or cycling but that’s fairly obvious if you look at a map. Friendly helpful staff

We stayed for 3 nights with a converted transit van camper. The pitch was wide, well kept and easy to maneuver into. The site is very relaxed with a variety of accommodation, the view of the marina was very nice. The site was definitely quiet by 10 and everyone was friendly. The showers being single units worked well and being able to do your full morning routine in there was a bonus with the inclusion of a toilet in the unit. The toilet block was clean and modern. The pot wash was good with a number of stations. We were on a rare trip without our children but the park and pool both looked great and we’re very popular. The showers are a bit dated and despite frequent cleaning by the staff, could do with a means for each guest to tidy up after themselves - mop etc. the drinking water taps are spray taps which made filling a single vessel such as a water bottle tricky We were unable to visit the waveney inn due to a lack of vegan/gluten free options but would have if we could. It could do with being more obvious that campers don’t check in at reception and do so in the pool. We saw the sign pointing campers to the left but as reception was to the right, assumed we needed to go there first and then found the car park down there tricky.

We stayed in the Carlton penthouse. We were really pleasantly surprised to find out on arrival how big the property was. Very clean and all the mod cons you could wish for. Lovely views. Great location as only half an hour's drive from the beach but you also had access to canoeing, kayaking and boat hire on site. Plus the 1 minute free ferry took you across the water to a beautiful nature reserve and great local walks.

This was the first time we have visited this site and we were pleased with it. It is small so is nice and quiet. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding area which are only 30 mins drive away to most of them including the beaches. My only issue is that for the amount of money we paid for the lodge it was very tired and worn. Dont get me wrong everything works but for over 2.5k for a week I would have expected it to be immaculate.

Shower block needs updating, mouldy ceilings, laminate coming away from walls. This could have been addressed in Lockdown. Poor cleanliness, needs to be cleaned more than twice a day. Restaurant and bar hardly open, bar closed at 10 when it was actually open. Wasn’t able to book a table. No takeaway service available. Poorly stocked shop. Excessive noise and rowdiness after 10pm. We couldn’t check in remotely as requested as they didn’t answer the phone. When entering reception area, staff were busy chatting. Also tried calling days before arrival and did not answer. We have visited Waveney on more than one occasion over the years but have left very disappointed

Nice pool and showers/loos, and the setting is beautiful right next to the river. Staff were helpful and friendly. I think the camping pitches are too close together which is the reason for 3 stars. We were in a yurt which needed a bit of maintenance but comfortable beds and enjoyed our stay. However, there is a row of camping pitches right in front of the yurt so there was not much privacy nor space. It felt a bit crowded in which is a shame as it’s got potential to be a great little site.
