“Sales rep stated I prefer you and your family not return because when you don't purchase our numbers look bad. Been an owner for 18 years and never had this happen!!”
“We were booked for a presentation
Took the day went there. We had a signed contract that we met all the criteria At the last moment were told that we did not meet the criteria and were sent away. The criteria was nowhere in writing in the contract. We contacted the manager who was very rude and told us to go to another time share for a free gift.”
“Manipulative and Deceptive Practices with No Value
Westgate Resorts is a prime example of predatory and manipulative practices. My family and I were lured into a sales presentation with promises of a free lunch, week-long hotel stays, discounts, and compensation. None of these promises were fulfilled. Instead, we endured over 7 hours of high-pressure tactics where the representatives misrepresented their timeshare product as a lifetime discount and investment opportunity.
Despite repeatedly saying no, we were coerced into signing a contract under duress without being allowed to review it properly. My wife, who doesn’t speak English, couldn’t even understand what was happening, and our three young children (aged 5, 5, and 7) were left hungry, tired, and distressed during the ordeal.
The supposed benefits—70% discounts on hotels, lifetime perks, and investment potential—turned out to be completely false. After paying $3,000 upfront, I later discovered that the actual costs over 10 years would exceed $30,000, with no meaningful benefits in return. The prices they offer are the same as standard market rates, and none of the promised perks exist.
This company exploits families, inflicts unnecessary emotional distress, and uses unethical sales tactics that violate consumer rights and Florida laws, including the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act and the Florida Vacation Plan and Timesharing Act.
If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid Westgate Resorts at all costs. Their practices are deceitful, and the financial and emotional burden they impose is unforgivable.”
“I booked my trip for 3 and pre paid and said no issues to add my son onto daytona 500 tickets package when they called to book it was an issue they can't sell extra tickets when I paid they told me 4 times no trouble to add.. they wanna bamboozle you”
“That is when an usual customer. Daily. And the hard tell him the up parking is full. One minute after i do to check. And that was the full parking. I pass the gate 2 minutes before to go to the gym.”
“Deceptive advertising on RCI. Very rude manager at Westgate Lakes resort in Branson, MO. They state on RCI they are pet friendly, but when you call its only for dogs or small horses??? Our small bird with clipped wings which resides in a small carry cage was unwelcome at this resort but has been welcome and no problem at any other pet friendly resort on RCI. The manager didn't care that their ad on RCI didn't specify 60 lb dogs or small horses as the only pets they'd accept and didn't care if we could not get our money back because they didn't specify these facts on their site. Avoid these people. If they are not specifying these details, you know there are others they are hiding. And, they clearly don't care if they ruin a family vacation and cost people points and exchange fees they cannot get back.”
“This should be 0 review. I was kinda bullied into signing up. Thght about it later that day and wanted a refund. They were rude & kept me waiting. It is 2 months later and I am still waiting on refund. I've called & called no one is ever able to help me or direct me to anyone. THIS IS A SCAM!! DO NOT WAISTE YOUR TIME!! I WANT MY REFUND!!”
“I'm trying to get a promotion deal that they are advertising to Las Vegas, NV for $99 dollars and they canceled my reservation TWICE stating I'm a past employee and I NEVER WORKED FOR WESTGATE! They don't want to give the promotion then don't advertise it.”
“If you want a company that cares about its owners, Westgate Resorts is NOT for you. You can contact them in writing, telling them time and time again that you were lied to about timeshare ownership, but they do not care. They take four months to respond to you. Sure you will get small emails during that time, but we have found that the more we write to complain, the shorter their overall responses become. They do not research our complaints, they don`t provide you with answers (just excuses), and they will pretty much call you a liar. We know what happened to us and if you want a timeshare, go somewhere else immediately. They are the WORST company we have ever done business with. When you call to try to talk to a live person, you have to put all your personal information in, and still, no one provides you with any solutions. We are sorry we ever trusted Westgate Resorts. They lie and steal your money. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCHEMES!”
