"Ordered some Japan Racing JR28's with tyres and TPMS from Wheelbase in May 2022, received them in July (falling out of the torn boxes the courier brought them in) and fitted them to my car. By December I noticed that the lacquer coating was starting to peel off, so I contacted their support.\r\n\r\nThe peeling started on the rear wheels first but the front ones soon caught up (see the attached photos).\r\n\r\nFirst of all I was told it was my fault for driving my car in the winter (apparently the wheels can't deal with road salt). However, these wheels are fitted to my second car which is garaged over winter and usually does less than 2,000 miles a year, so that argument didn't hold up.\r\n\r\nAfter many months of emails back and forth, I got a \u00a3200 refund offer in June 2023. Bearing in mind I'd spent over \u00a32,000 on these wheels and they hadn't even lasted 6 months, \u00a3200 was a slap in the face.\r\n\r\nEventually I got an admission that this was a one-off manufacturing defect, and they would replace all four wheels. Great, what a result! But hold on just a minute..\r\n\r\nFord Fair 2023, I went round a lot of cars looking for Japan Racing wheels. Can you guess what I saw..? Yes, this is not a one off problem, but seemed to affect pretty much every JR28 wheel I saw, regardless of size or colour.\r\n\r\nAnyway, back to today - April 2024.. no sign of any replacement wheels, no refund, no communication.. I'd say I've been done up like a good'un, and \u00a32,000+ lighter for it.\r\n\r\nMy advice: stay clear of these guys, complete scammers. And avoid Japan Racing wheels (made in Poland) like the plague.. they'll fall apart if you drive with them fitted to your car (and I wouldn't look at them too long, they might not last long that way either).\r\n\r\nNow off to buy some decent wheels from a reputable seller.."

"Our alloys costing over 1k for the set are not circular, have many flat spots and in our opinion are of terribly poor quality. The wait time of 3 weeks on 'in stock' items is because they were being manufactured in India and clearly do not undergo UK quality assurance testing before being despatched. PLEASE be warned and consider purchasing elsewhere!"
