Why advertise a book, take your money and then just don't bother notifying your customers, until we contact you as to where the order is, for you then to say it's out of stock, you need to take a leaf out of Waterstones book and actually let your customers know if the item is out of stock on the website

What a rip off WHSMITH is, I went in to buy tobacco 30g amber leaf…..£21.99 they tried to charge, I went two feet down to another little off licence and it was only £15.29 I told the man in the shop and he said they shouldn’t be alowed to charge that because they are under a contract to sell tobacco at a certain price which you can’t go over or under. They shouldn’t be playing on peoples addictions like that it’s choice to smoke and it shouldn’t be down to other people telling you you shouldn’t or can’t we’re not stupid we know it’s bad for you and we know you shouldn’t do it we Don’t need pricks telling us what to do with our lives

After 2 weeks of waiting for my book order, i contacted the customer service for explanation. Shockingly a Fran, from the customer service re-claimed they will send my book between 1-2 weeks as they originally said. They added I can request to cancel the book order. I wrote to state that they clearly have a poor customer service skill if they failed to understand it was more than 2 weeks since i placed the order. And that their comment about cancellation meant they don't understand the non-monetary costs involved for someone who was waiting for the book to sit for registered exam. Next email i received was notification that they had cancelled my order. This shows they clearly lack customer service skills.

received email from WHSmith confirmed my order was ready to collect. I ordered four items but the ready collect email only showed one item. not sure if it's ready for completed order or just part of it. emailed the WHSmith, as their phone's voice mail telling you there's only one way to contact the customer services was email. WHSmith only sent auto reply and I'm still waiting... (by awaiting the reply, I did travel to the shop wishing it might be ready for my whole order, but no, there was only one item ready to be collected)... at least, if WHSmith could clarify to let me know there's only part of order ready to be collected? Never ever use WHSmith online please. I wish I'd read the review before place order .

I order a magazine on a 12 month subscription. I have just been told it could take 7 to 19 weeks to receive my first copy. Its a run of the mill practice caravan magazine. Service is appalling I could order a new car and have it delivered in that time. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Ordered books on line on 4.7.21. Paid in full. Arranged to collect from local WHS shop on 5.7.21- as advised by WHS. Received confirmation email, advising order being delayed , due to ongoing transport problems- and collection date could not be given. Surprising WHS could only advise me of this problem after I have paid!!! No contact number for customer services, and no update on delivery/collection. Roll on receivership.

Paid for express delivery no sign of delivery and you cannot contact them. Was supplies for a school fete so will be disappointed children because of the awful service.

Bought two office chairs online on seperate occasions. One last year and one recently. Easy to order. Both arrived within a couple of days. Competitive price. Excellent service very happy and the chairs are brilliant.

Bought their own-brand school calculator. It's a piece of ordure that gives incorrect answers for percentage calculations. Buy a Casio instead. They're not perfect commit fewer breaches of the laws of mathematics.

so I ordered a book which was in stock according to the website. I waited 2 months for it until they cancelled my order because they couldn't get the stock in. my sister accidentally ordered the same product ten days after me and a couple of days after my order was cancelled they shipped out her order, which took about 2 months to actually arrive.

Ordered a book that they showed in stock for a birthday present. They made me wait until AFTER the estimated delivery date, then told me it wasnt in stock and they would order from their supplier, with no indication of delivery date. Now fighting to get a refund. Absolutely unacceptable!

When is WHSmith today just to get a scratch card and a woman behind the till was very rude to me she threw the £5 no at me cos I asked to change it through did she needs to change her attitude again NZ won't be going in there for a while

Shocking service. Do not bother buying from here. Ordered online a book as a gift for my wife’s birthday. Paid for express delivery. No show. You can’t call them. Emailed them three times before I got a reply. By then it was a few days after they should have delivered it. Got a reply saying book out of stock. So why take my money then if you got no stock!! Very poor service. Not happy especially as it was a birthday gift.

Ordered an item for next day delivery and they have charged me for next day delivery but still Failed to deliver my order for the next day now I am trying to cancel my order and it is not working I am emailing WHSmith for help and they are not replying

I ordered a DVD as a Christmas present on 9th December. On 11th December I received an email saying the DVD had been despatched, but a week later I had not received it. I chased them up by email more than once and got generic replies saying they were experiencing delays. I tried phoning the customer service line, but it wasn't possible to speak to anyone -there was a recorded message advising customers to email. Christmas came and went with no news of the DVD. On New Year's Day I got an email saying that the "book" I had ordered must have been lost in transit. I would be reimbursed but if I still wanted the "book" I would need to reorder it. I have done so, but not from Smith's. I will not be using them again!

This company doesn't even deserve one star but the review process doesn't let me give less. I ordered a book on December 2nd, my order was accepted and it said delivery would be by December 12th at latest. This was a Christmas present to my 80 year old father. When the book hadn't arrived the week before Christmas I checked the order status and it said "deliver after Christmas ". I emailed and after 3 or 4 emails had a reply to say the book was out of stock! Why accept an order for something which is out of stock and let me believe I will get it in time for Christmas. They must have appalling systems in place. Will never use again.

Dont order anything online from this company! I ordered several items on the 9th December standard delivery and received an email a couple of days later to say they were on their way. When the order didn't arrive, I looked at order details in my account and it says they wont arrive until after Christmas! This was not mentioned when placing my order! So I tried to cancel but nothing has been confirmed. I have emailed them twice! No reply! No phone number for customer services or at all! I always thought WHSmith was a reputable company. Please don't waste time and money buying anything online from them. I'm so disappointed and annoyed as I want my money back and also a response to let me know what's happening!!!

I ordered a jigsaw for a Christmas present on the 4 December being led to understand that it would be here in 10 days ..... nothing ! Sent 2 emails to their support services.......nothing ! Disappointing.
