I did my research and bought a balsam hill tree last Christmas. We moved into a new house this year and when I put the tree up - guess what? The lights didn’t work. Spoke with customer service. The representative updated my address and was sending me the part I needed to fix the problem. 3 days before Christmas and it hasn’t arrived. Guess what? It was sent to my old address. Spoke with another representative and they will gladly send me another replacement part but unfortunately it cannot be expedited. How does a company ruin Christmas for people without compensation? What an immoral scam? For the price people pay for these tress, heck - send them a new tree next day air with a bow on it Scrooge!

I purchased a Balsam Hill tree in 2020. There was a problem that first year with the lights going on and off or switching colors on their own. I called the company on 12/28/2020 to register my issue. They immediately told me I could not return it. I didn’t want to return it, I just wanted the issue resolved. They contended it must be the remote which I did not think was the problem as it occurred without my using the remote. Two years later, 2022, I no longer use the lights that came on the tree but instead use my own lights. This week, 2 years later, a new remote was sent to me. Two years later. No other correspondence. Just a box with a remote. And, when I went on their website to try to write a review I was unable to find where I could write one. Terrible customer service. I would not recommend this company.

If you want your tree by Christmas - order it a year ahead of time. You may receive half the tree - which I did. Five star prices fir one star service !

This is our second 9 ' Vermont Spruce . Each tree was in excess of $1200.00. The first tree developed lighting issues after five years. We contacted the company requesting replacement lighting. We were advised no replacement lights / bulbs are available. Our second tree (2022) developed remote control lighting issues. We were granted a warranty remote replacement then further advised the production season for parts is over and our remote is expected to be available in September 2023. No more trees from this company.

DON’T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I spent $1800 nearly a month ago and still haven’t received my items despite their website promising 3-5 business day delivery. They don’t return calls, can’t give me any definitive details, story changes every time I call them. Their staff are rude and incompetent. A TOTAL SCAM COMPANY.

I was surprised that their products are made in China for the price they charge, we have a tree and every year have to hot glue branches back on. We tolerated it but when the lights started going out (expected) and we went to order replacements they did not carry them for trees only a few years old, totally unexpected for the price we paid. Overall a terrible experience, had to replace the tree after 4 years. I wrote their customer service about replacement bulb support and received no response.

We purchased an LED tree in 2020.. this year we had several bulbs out and our replacement bulbs didn’t fit. When we called the first time, CS said they’d send us out the right bulbs. Nope, got a tool. Today our second set of bulbs showed up, and still don’t fit. We’ve now found out that the LED tree we paid for also has incandescent bulbs on it. What a rip off. Called cs and they said they wouldn’t do anything.

I waited quite awhile to justify the flip tree even on sale and I should have waited forever. It is the most unrealistic piece of plastic and it looks like a child tossed the lights on it and came with a broken piece of something. $1300+ later and thankful for the coverage I bought if I send it back by 1/3/23 I get a refund 🤬 I'm getting a replacement and if it's no betterI will take my tree down while my children are here and get my refund. Don't waste your money go to Lowe's and get a truly realistic pre lit tree. Vali

This has been the worst company. They took ourmlney, only sent us half a tree, we had to call and give evidence we only received half of a tree, then they said the rest would be on the way. Itnever showed up. We had to call back to find out they had never sent the rest because it was out of stock. So we had to repack everything we had to ship back. FedEx came and picked up the boxes. It's been a week and they are telling us they will not refund us until the boxes arrive back at their warehouse and are scanned. They had no problem taking our money before we'd ever received the product but we have to wait and rely on the same people who haven't shown us any care so far to get us out thousands of $$$ back. They won't even escalate our call to a supervisor and yhey are clearly overseas workers. You can't find Google reviews of their company for a reason, they suppress the bad reviews. Avoid them at all costs. We have another tree from them and it's not that great. Especially for what we paid. Go to a local Xmas store and buy one from a place you can actually talk to

Delighted with my 6’ blue spruce tree. It is excellent quality & so lifelike. It took a while to open up all the branches, but simple to slot together and erect. It was Heavy to manoeuvre tree into final position, as not enough room to fit lights when in corner of room. Nice touch adding the gloves & storage bag. Gloves were needed, as branches quite prickly when opening them out. Overall, I would recommend this tree. Should last for years. Mr Grace. Cornwall.

Brand new tree with lights that flicker sometimes and are fine at other times. Also the lights go real dim then come back real bright. I called for a replacement but was out of stock and was told they could only replace with same tree. Also was told from 1st call to CS that the flickering was suppose to be like flickering candles. My tree was up it was December my new tree wouldn’t come till September. After asking for a supervisor I asked for some suggestions as to what the problem could be, she suggested checking the fuses and replacing them. I had no extra fuses in the bag with other items and the plug they showed in the booklet was different on my tree-it did not open for replacing fuses. I asked could a different tree be sent, again there was nothing they could do except send tree back for refund or wait 9 months for a new one. I had spent a long time researching tree quality and companies, I thought I had succeeded-I was wrong on both counts. Even understanding that I could have a defective tree the fact that their CS is so very poor is a huge disappointment and has left me very upset and unwilling to recommend them to anyone. Beware!

I ordered a tree. They claimed it was delivered but nothing showed up on the ring or with the neighbors. They sent a replacement. It took NINE months to get. The new box sat unopened in 2020 (COVID) and 2021 (out of town so no need to decorate). I opened the NEW box last week and two sections did not work. Per the website we troubleshot. Nothing. I called and explained and BH said "too bad so sad." I am out $1000 dollars. Buyers beware! Never again.

Paid $1,800 for a tree that stopped lighting after 3 uses. The electronic ballast went bad and the Balsam Hill Christmas tree company does not sell parts to replace the parts that go bad. They advise to string lights since the ballast no longer works. Too high of a price to pay for a tree that lacks replacement parts!

Worst and nastiest customer service you will ever encounter in the USA. My tree was way overpriced but does look nice, but I still feel cheated by their slick "sales" promotions. Buyer beware is all I can say because if you read all the reviews especially on other sites you will see how many families had their Christmas ruined by this company.

Only received the bottom part of the tree. This company lied to me 3 times! twice claiming it was on the way then a 3rd time claiming they were very sorry and upgraded the shipping so we would have the rest of the tree in 2 days .. 2 day later-we called and asked for the tracking # and they said they would email it. Instead we received an email instantly saying the tree was now out of stock. Balsam hill is not doing anything to make this right. I would never recommend this company to anyone. A true nightmare before Christmas as we have our annual Christmas party in 2 days. Thanks a bunch for the 2 weeks you spent lying to me when I could have just ordered a different tree. Shipping issues aside- this tree was super heavy and we only received 1 box out of 3.. maybe this was a blessing in disguise because storage for this 6 piece situation would have been dreadful… also we did set up the bottom part of the tree we fid get and it was just as messy if not more than the real thing ( flocked tree) something to think about… End of the story … went out and got a real tree…

I had a Balsalm Hill tree for 10 years and decided to sell it when I moved. It was a great tree. So I bought another one for my new house in October. I bought the same tree I had, or thought I had—their “most realistic” one for $592.92. I foolishly thought it would be the same quality as my previous one, but sadly it was not even close. The branches were very cheap-looking plastic, with no realistic brown stem colorations like the previous versions. Since I was outside the return period, they would not do a refund or even an exchange—forget about actually talking to anyone in person. I could only ”chat” with a someone who did nothing more than reiterate their “policy”. I have no doubt anyone could find this quality of tree at a much better price elsewhere. I short, DO NOT RELY ON BALSALM HILL’S PREVIOUS REPUTATION.

We purchased a tree for last year, the lower side of the tree was out! This year I put it up and now the lower side, up to the middle is out.. such poor quality! Never again horrible warranty and you can not reach anyone..

we bought the flocked tree. first year everything was great. by about the third or fourth year whole strings of lights were going out. I replaced all the light bulbs, replaced the "master bulb and fuse and they still don’t work. called customer service and of course the tree is out of warranty- big surprise. and of course they don't sell the master bulb and the normal lights are not a standard replacement that someone like walmart sells so you can only buy them through balsam hill. well this year after dealing with a failed string we wove in a string bought from walmart. three days later after the tree was fully decorated the last string burnt out. now we have to undo the decorations, buy a replacement string and thread it through the branches. NEVER buy a pre-lit tree from them!

We received a tree with fairy lights as a gift 4 years ago. Now 2 strands have gone out and customer service (can hardly be called that) told us too bad there’s nothing they can do. Worst customer experience I have ever had. Personally I will never buy anything from Balsam Hill again. Please be aware if you are upgrading to the fairy lights that there is no way to troubleshoot when they go out.
