I have been a long term client with Catawiki. Recently I received a paid item damaged. I followed the protocol and contacted the seller and Catawiki for advice, and none has offer any resolution. As a mediator, Catawiki has failed to provide protection to buyers.

I bought a Breitling Navitimer from Catawiki, what goes forward 5 min every hour. Experts from Catawiki told that's ok. I returned the watch back to the seller, and now i dont have no watch and no money. So dont buy or sell from Catawiki

Sellers are treated in a lousy way. Dont sell in Catawiki unless you have some high profile item. Even though, commissions are very high and the service is... none. The so called auction experts decide on items based on a commercial value that is only in their mind, it's not coherent across time and items. It is impossible to obtain a response that is not automated. Lousy service and user experience, no responsibility and only cash in matters.

Catawiki sent me an email asking if had received my purchase. The same day I received the email, I replied that “no, the item hadn’t been delivered”. Over the next six days, I sent five additional responses telling them that the item wasn’t received. There was no reply from Catawiki until my last message to them stating that the item hadn’t been delivered and I was going to instruct my bank to do a chargeback if they didn’t answer my messages. At that point Catawiki told me they would not assist me and they had given my payment to the seller because I didn’t contact them soon enough. I will not purchase through them again. The item has still not arrived.

Please do not use this company. Catawiki's biggest seller lost my item (I don't believe it was ever sent as the tracking never changed), but because I didn't contact Catawiki (as per some very small text in a confirmation email), they refuse to refund me. The seller is fully aware of this process and yet tells me to contact Catawiki. I have had good experiences with all but the largest seller on their site, which Catawiki chose to protect. Please do not buy from seller grandscrus.

The worst company ever. They don't have any policies to protect buyers when they don't receive their orders. Some sellers are professional scam so the system views the order delivered and send the payment. It would be fine if the sellers are honest but you'll never get your money back whenever they want to scam you. Their customer service also sucks. It would be extremely hard to reach them out though they don't solve problems for you anyways.

Dreadful customer service. I bought an item from a lunatic who misrepresented it and then threatened me and my family, used profanity and generally ruined my week. Catawiki agreed to refund me AND THEN CHANGED THEIR MIND. Horrible, unprofessional and slow. Why are they still in business?

Poor experience as a seller, items don't arrive to buyers because of wrong addresses, get's returned and you end up with paying for the shipping fees with no monies received.

DO NOT USE CATAWIKI They don't have real experts and their estimations are always overpriced. They allow sellers to put misleading information and images so that you buy and then it's impossible to contact them to make a claim. It's a fake business so be aware!

Aw gosh i wish i checked some reviews before i got involved with them. Sold bottle of champagne just over a month ago. Still waiting for payment. Customer service can't do absolutely nothing. You can't speak to management or financial team... "it's only them on the phone" I've been told when calling for must been 7th time to try to get some sort of confirmation my £120 has been sent. Not amazing amount of money i know but in todays situation it is a lot for me especially as had to send item to Sweden... That was nearly £45. Asked how i can complain and was told the details are on the website. THERE'S NO DETAILS ON HOW TO COMPLAIN at all that i can see. Horrible experience from the begining. It took for ever to get lot approved. When it sold i had to contact seller to let him know it's been ready for collection in depot for days! I was worried it will be sent back... Absolut nightmare

Sellers beware. Catawiki is run by the auctioneers, some are good, others very poor & not fit to call themselves auctioneers. Disagree with their comment, you get banned and ALL OF YOUR MONEY HELD WITHOUT ANY RIGHT OF REPLY FOR AS LONG AS THEY SEE FIT. After 5 years and tens of thousands of euros in fees I was banned for asking an auctioneer why he had denied my listing but allowed 4/5 others the same. I've attempted to file a complaint but there is no recourse for wronged sellers. I am now going to seek legal action following my funds being held illegally for over 2 months. You've been warned! Sell elsewhere.

Don't even think about using this site to buy or sell items. I make walking sticks /canes and have seen items that I made over the last 10 years being dated by their so called experts as early 20 century. I personally haven't put my items up for sale on this site. I've emailed them about the items and the date they were made but to date haven't heard from them

To whoever it may concern Sadly I have to publish it in this way but there isn't another option to reach decision makers at Catawiki (which is an online auction house). I have been purchasing at Catawiki for a while now and I have to say most of it was a pleasant experience till recently. I was buying mostly antiques. Few months ago I wanted to try my luck with contemporary art.  I have bought several pieces here and there and then I realized that artists I was intending to collect have started to disappear. I have tried to contact so called "experts" obviously without any good results. Then I realized that there are always the same names listed there. Tatiana Ruiz was one of most used expert names and some guy Anthony I believe. They keep selling (really hard) exactly the same artists with the same copies of their work  (dozens of them at each auction) without giving a small space for new talents and variety. They have privatized Catawiki and when you see what they sell there it looks fishy. You can't even contact them.    I don't know who really runs the show at Catawiki but please consider changing your art repertoire or simply change your "art experts".Thanks for understanding

Communication policy is close to 0. They check nothing, recently they put the same article 2 times, I warned them but they didn't removed. Now I have to manage a dispute with the buyer. And the worse, Catawiki send me an auto email telling me it's bad for me because I didn't respect the rule!!!!! Because there is nobody in term of customer service

It’s communication policy is awful. They send out emails with no contact details to CUs asking to contact Catawiki in case CU disapproves or wants an alternative. It is impossible to contact anybody directly. Help section asks for info which is not available to CUs before accepting request. Its commissions are the same independently from price and are enormous, especially for items above €100. Both seller and buyers buy commission but there are professional sellers with sweetheart deals which dominate the products on offer. Its not a site for the common Joe. Valuations are horribly inflated so that reserve prices are horribly inflated so that commissions intake is maximised. The result is that it is very difficult to sell higher priced items, say around €900-€1200.

The site is just a selling site maskeraiding as an antique /collectable site. The so called experts have little knowledge of the items they value. Don't buy from this site

I was outbid on a no reserve item, a painting, but Googled it 2 weeks later. Hey presto, there it was back for sale by the artist. This smacks of illegal shill bidding. There is no customer service so use the site at your peril.
