I was on Etsy for at least twelve years. I rarely had a bad experience. Twice, maybe. I spent many thousands of dollars shopping the site. I found the best EVERYTHING and made great friends while purchasing a wide variety of items. Greeting cards, unique and personalized gifts, home decor, handmade leather purses, and on and on. Then I had identity theft. Not necessarily Etsy’s fault. It’s still in the early stages of investigation. I immediately began by switching phone numbers, acquiring new email addresses, changing passwords and user names, securing replacement credit cards, switching bank accounts, and on and on. Traumatic, time consuming, stressful. Do you know how many doctor’s and businesses use your phone number to identify you? I needed to change my account settings, for example, new email address, user name and/or password with Etsy without losing my history of wonderful shops. THAT was a waste of my already frayed nerves and limited time. Apparently this is not possible on the Etsy app but on some nebulous, mysterious, awkward, complicated website that was impossible to navigate. I tried for two days, between working, caring for my family, and trying to assess at the end of the day where I stood on this unimaginable mess. A car was purchased in my name. I found out when I received a collection call that I was in arrears. So I had big fish to fry and no hope of a fast, simple solution to changing info on ETSY. After my efforts were futile, I deleted my account completely. I am not motivated to open a new one. I’m exhausted and defeated. In this inflationary state of the USA with a depression around the corner and our involvement in two wars. I’m trying to hang onto my funds. ETSY has made that easy since I can’t shop there. I won’t go back unless they announce their less convoluted customer service system. Currently, it’s worthless. CAVEAT EMPTOR IGNIS FATUUS

I've been a seller on Etsy for quite some time, managing two distinct shops, "Shop A" and "Shop B." Unfortunately, my journey as an Etsy seller has been nothing short of a frustrating nightmare, leading me to give this platform a rating of 0 stars. My ordeal began when "Shop B" was suspended by Etsy's automated bots. The reason cited was violation of their handmade policy. I suspect it's because of the same images we have on other marketplaces, such as Amazon Handmade. Etsy's response was swift, but far from fair. They sent alarming emails to my customers, warning them of potential order issues, even when orders were already in transit with tracking numbers. Automatic refunds were issued, leaving customers bewildered and my payment account drained. Shockingly, I couldn't even message my customers to assure them, as Etsy disables messaging when a shop is suspended. Etsy's appeal process for suspended shops is deeply flawed. Sellers like me are denied the opportunity to speak to a human representative or provide documentation to prove the handmade nature of our items. Instead, we're left with no option but to admit fault and promise compliance with policies. If you're not guilty, it doesn't seem to matter. My appeal was unsuccessful, and most disheartening of all, they continued to also suspend my other "Shop A" – a completely different product line with no prior issues. Overnight, I lost income from both shops. Adding insult to injury, Etsy's handling of payouts has been baffling. When my shops received a sudden surge of orders due to Google Ads, Etsy placed reserves on my payouts for months at a time. Their automated systems flagging suspicious activity resulted in a financial setback. Equally distressing is Etsy's complete lack of seller support. Buyers frequently open cases instead of engaging in communication with sellers, leading to automatic refunds without sellers even being informed. The absence of meaningful support and communication is nothing short of shocking. Etsy seems to want sellers to generate profits for them but fails miserably in providing the necessary support and fairness. My experience with Etsy has been a disheartening one, and I would strongly advise fellow sellers to save themselves time, effort, and frustration by exploring alternative platforms that truly value and support their sellers.

My new seller account was suspended without explanation. I followed the guidelines to the best of my knowledge, and spent many hours setting up my account and listings. Two days later, I was suspended without any email explanation. I opened an appeal, mainly so I could find out what i had been suspended for. I assumed it was a glitch, or some minor error in submitting bank or I.D details perhaps. I wasn't selling anything controversial, or even questionable. I hadn't even sold anything yet. My only contact with anyone on the site, was a scammer trying to get my email address, who I politely declined, and later blocked. days later, I receive a cut and paste response from Etsy, stating i was now permanently suspended, it would not be lifted, and they weren't willing to give any reasons as to why. As somebody who suffers with a severe anxiety disorder, and relies on a remote business to support my family, this lack of explanation and transparency is extremely emotionally difficult. Is it really that hard for Etsy to explain what the issue was? I won't be going near Etsy ever again, not even as a buyer. Worst customer service experience I think I've had online.

I want to change my review. Due to my hello kitty iPhone 12case was delivered to the wrong house by the carrier. The person returned my package to the post office. My mailman delivered my package today. He left it on my front porch. Very Satisfied Customer!

My recent encounter with Etsy has been nothing short of a catastrophe, and I feel compelled to share my harrowing experience. I entered into this venture with high hopes of opening my own online store, but Etsy's sheer incompetence and lack of transparency have shattered those dreams. First and foremost, Etsy failed to follow through on their promise of opening my online store. Despite their enticing claims of providing a user-friendly platform for selling handmade products, the reality was starkly different. I meticulously followed their guidelines and completed all the necessary steps, only to discover that my store had never actually been established. To make matters worse, Etsy began billing me fees for a store that was nothing more than a mirage! I received invoices for services I never received and products I never sold. It's painfully evident that Etsy is solely interested in wringing every last penny from its users, regardless of whether they deliver on their promises. When I attempted to address this issue with Etsy, their customer support was conspicuously absent. They deactivated their 800-number, making it nearly impossible to get in touch with a live representative. Submitting a ticket online proved to be a Herculean task, and the response time was measured in days or even weeks. It's as if Etsy couldn't care less about their customers' concerns and is solely focused on extracting more money. Now, here's the real kicker: Etsy has the audacity to demand payment for these fraudulent fees before they'll even consider closing my store, which never actually existed! It's a blatant attempt to extort money from me, and it's beyond disgraceful. In conclusion, my experience with Etsy has been a complete and utter disaster. They failed to fulfill their promises, billed me for services that never materialized, and demonstrated an utter disregard for customer service and ethics. I strongly advise anyone contemplating using Etsy to seek out a more reliable and ethical platform for their online store needs. Etsy is nothing but a money-grabbing scam, and I deeply regret ever becoming entangled with them. Spare yourself the agony and avoid Etsy at all costs!

Their website is total rubbish. As soon as listed my first items, there were only scam messages asking for my email address. They state you can not list items and use stock photos but most of the items are listed with the stock photos. Sterling silver 925 marked items which are not silver are sold as genuine silver and at ridiculous price as well as many other items which are not handmade but pound stock.

I am beyond frustrated with Etsy’s customer support and the way they’ve handled my store ban. It’s been an incredibly disappointing experience. Etsy has inexplicably withheld my hard-earned funds, leaving me unable to access them when I need them the most. What's even more disheartening is that I am currently battling illness, and these funds are crucial for my medical expenses and daily needs. It's incredibly frustrating that Etsy's lack of responsiveness is compounding the challenges I'm already facing during this difficult time. I’ve been a loyal and honest seller on Etsy, ensuring that I fulfill all my orders and provide excellent service to my customers. However, my store was banned in what seems like a careless mistake on Etsy’s part. I’ve tried reaching out to them multiple times, but they haven’t bothered to respond. This lack of communication is unacceptable. What’s worse is that I’ve noticed many other sellers going through the same ordeal. Etsy is banning accounts without clear reasons, leaving sellers without access to their hard-earned money. It’s a real slap in the face. If Etsy thinks it’s okay to treat its sellers this way, then fine. But I won’t stay silent about it. I’ll make sure to spread the word and warn others about the risks of using this platform. Etsy, you seriously need to step up your game when it comes to customer support and fairness. This experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I wouldn’t recommend Etsy to anyone at this point.

Bought some chimes from LNPUniqueBoutique on Etsy for my sisters birthday. After about a week, I got a message saying they were delivered even though I never received them. I checked the receipt and realized they were sent to an address in California, nowhere close to where I lived. I made sure I put in the right address before messaging customer service, which was just an automated message listing the things they can and can’t do, one of which was them not being responsible for any lost items. They said I could open a case if I hadn’t received something. I asked them to do this multiple times and even sent pictures showing the address I put in the the address they were delivered to were different. I received no response at all and a week later I received a refund I didn’t ask for. They didn’t even attempt to solve the issue or get me my package. Terrible customer service, last time I order from Etsy or LNPUniqueBoutique.

Never again! Purchased a vintage satchel from Etsy only to find the exact same satchel for sale on Temu for less than half the price. Etsy sellers are buying items from Temu and selling them at marked-up prices.

This site should be dealt with carefully. I saw a Patek Philippe watch on this site for $4,470.43 and inquired about it - asked if the seller could display the original papers they claimed to have. I have not heard back for about five days now. Since I did not hear back from the seller, I decided to research the watch and found the same watch on another website with same pictures with so called papers for $10,165 with a catch that the seller does ship to addresses in the US, whoa!! but advertising in the US?. I contacted Etsy to alert them that the seller maybe fraudulent and that they should look into this so that someone don't get swindled by this seller. Nothing from Etsy, instead , they reduce the price of the watch from $4470 to $4125 for a watch this is listed on another site that does not ship to US for $10,165. Unbelievable!! Just hate to see someone get swindled out of their hard earned money. Be careful on Etsy. I tried to contact the seller on the other website where he does not ship to US addresses, he responded in French and urged me to buy from the current website but when I tried, it still says he does not ship to US addresses. What a JOKE!
